Indian government reduced tax for corporates a while ago but they will not invest that saving unless they see demand in market. And to raise demand, individual tax has to go down. If there is high demand, corporates will produce more irrespective of taxes.
Correct, They dont even reduce markup and wait for demand to pickup, technically for them to bump production consumption should bump up, but that will not happen unless spending power increases via new consumers or old consumers which obviously will not happen if they don't create employment. In case of India reducing taxes will not work as it worked in case of US, because Indians have lot better options to settle outside India while Americans didn't. So whatever extra money Indians will save they'll use it sometime in the future to settle abroad for a better life. What government can do is to give tax relief for businesses that create jobs and change tax slabs for reduced income taxes. Tax calculation in video seems a bit off, daily 2000rs charges were based on 1Cr transaction, so for 10Lac initial investment, daily charges would be 200rs not 2000rs, thus his total tax would be 200(daily charges) * 200(number of days)= 40k not 4L
12% stamp duty on real estate transactions is ridiculous. Hope they drop it to 1 or 2% so the people use the true value of transactions. It also helps paying correct capital gain tax. Also, simplify the process of real estate purchase and resale, as it would also attract NRIs to invest.

My suggestion: 1% tax on 0.6 lakh to 3 lakh income [All type of income including Agriculture income and Retail business income like chai waala, Pakodawaala, Kirani shop, footwear shop, jewellery shop and self employee like painter, doctor, lawyer, driver, artist] and provide Free Term insurance coverage of 15 lakh life cover and Health insurance coverage of 3 lakh for one year and tax pay not compulsory up to 3 lakh. 2% tax on 3 lakh to 10 lakh income [All type of income including Agriculture income and Retail business income like chai waala, Pakodawaala, Kirani shop, footwear shop, jewellery shop and self employee like painter, doctor, lawyer, driver, artist]. Above 10 lakh income 10% tax [2% tax on 3 lakh to 20 lakh on Agriculture income, Retail business income and self employee and 10% tax on Above 20 lakh Agriculture income ]
Everyone should pay tax. Ask them to pay as little as RS 10. This is very good for forming a habit.

Taxes don't kill nation if kept reasonable but over taxation definitely kills. At present the government has become overambious in collecting taxes with the result it is killing the golden goose.
one major problem with India is most Indians are self employed and they do not draw any taxable salary and fabricate negative balance sheet. Govt is loosing both direct and indirect tax.

In case of India reducing taxes will not work as it worked in case of US, because Indians have lot better options to settle outside India while Americans didn't. So whatever extra money Indians will save they'll use it sometime in the future to settle abroad for a better life.
What government can do is to give tax relief for businesses that create jobs and change tax slabs for reduced income taxes. Its finally the governments job to balance out income from taxes, debt and the spending (specially on the freebies).

Boss - the US made massive infra investments in 1950s and 60s through tax money.. It was only in 80s that it cut taxes.. India is not in the stage where infra is developed, it's just now that we started doing it.. So don't compare apples vs oranges

Problem is not the taxes , problem is that in return taxpayers don't get anything. Unlike Amricans or European we don't have social security,good free healthcare, free education . We even have to pay toll tax for using roads that was built from our taxes. Corruption is prevalent in every government department further depleting the actual deployment of tax money

Tax calculation in video seems a bit off, daily 2000rs charges were based on 1Cr transaction, so for 10Lac initial investment, daily charges would be 200rs not 2000rs, thus his total tax would be 200(daily charges) * 200(number of days)= 40k not 4L
12% stamp duty on real estate transactions is ridiculous. Hope they drop it to 1 or 2% so the people use the true value of transactions. It also helps paying correct capital gain tax. Also, simplify the process of real estate purchase and resale, as it would also attract NRIs to invest.
