    The songs I think are randomized. Like I don't think they pick them themselves.
    Poland has no racism related history. So most people feel no relevance to the n word. I myself didn't know better when I visited US and said it in a class in higschool. Everyone looked at me and I didn't know why.
    Also when you speak about the past. Polish people are still salty towards Germans for WW2 which resulted in Poland staying in the rule of communists. That was 80 years ago instead of 100+ when slavery happened. Currently Poland is a 2nd world country unlike US and Germany because of that history. Millions of people were put into slave labor or murdered.
    So to put you into perspective, we got our own issues and we don't really follow yours. Just as you do not understand Polish issues.

      A quick google search for "racism in Poland" yields a lot of results. And that's just a google search (which doesn't begin to scratch the surface of the internet). Acts of racism may be low and not overt, but they exist in Poland. They exist globally.
      This isn't an oppression olympics argument tho, re: your point on Poland's past.
      And as I mentioned in the video, colorism and the idea of anti-blackness has been and continues to be a global issue. Take the US out of it and you can examine the history of the caste system throughout various countries of Asia, apartheid in South Africa, the White Australia policy which aimed to keep non-Europeans (particularly Chinese and Pacific Islanders) from immigrating into Australia.
      What you choose to follow/not follow is up to you. But again, these are global issues. Racism (which is a systemic issue) is one that is global.
      Be well.

      @@AdrieleParkerYou can put in Google [random country] racist and you will have a lot of results. Poland never had a slavery in place, moreover we did fight against it look up Polish Haitians. Second of all yes this outrage is coming only from USA you can't assume that everybody will go according to yours standards about race.

    First of all, the fact that Americans think that the whole world revolves around you and yours culture is just laughable. Y'all are also doing a lot of stuff offensive to others, but most other countries don't give a shit about that. You say that the fact that there are no Black polish actors is racist. Why shoud poland have black actors. I saw a black person in Poland irl for the first time 5 years ago, so there is no racism there. If everyone in the world tried not to offend someone, nobody would be able to do anything. For polish people it's giving a tribute to the artist. There wes no black slaves in poland. Te Polish people were slaves. There was o lot of slavery in Europe too, but Civilized European countries ended slavery a loong time ago and forgot about it. Only Americans keep bringing it up again and again.

    what do you think would be the best solution here? cancel the show or allow them to sing songs of white artists only? it’s a difficult one as I’m sure it wasn’t done with malicious intentions.

    • @AdrieleParker
      @AdrieleParker  Рік тому

      It has nothing to do with them singing the songs of artists based on their race/ethnicity, it has everything to do with them painting their bodies a different color and the deep, painful history that is tied to blackface, minstrelsy, and colorism.
      In general, I lean towards education before cancellation, but from what I've read on a number of sm threads and forums (and these are comments were mostly from Europeans sharing their thoughts), this show has existed for a long time (since 2014), people have been calling it out as problematic, and the folks behind the show are very aware of the harms of perpetuating blackface.

      @@AdrieleParkeracting is acting, in this context the black face is not offensive, in my country Romania there are also similar shows, Romania never had slaved, never did blackface and never colonised, so aren’t we allowed to pay hommage to artists by changing the skin color? what did we do wrong?we do not share the same history as America and it’s not fair to face consequences for other nation’s actions

    • @AdrieleParker
      @AdrieleParker  Рік тому +1

      You can act and pay hommage without doing something that is knowingly harmful. Intent vs impact. And it's less about US vs. Romania or any other place. It's about human empathy and understanding.
      Also, a quick google search led me to a number or sites covering slavery in Romania.

      @@AdrieleParker yeah and on the same show black dude was impresionating white woman... and it's ok? Other thing is that from what i know blackface was just parody and stereotypes about black appearance, in this show they just want to make look them similar to artist the most as they can... it's not disrespect, parody etc. Black people should just chill out.

    Exactly, CANCEL this SPANISH (by origins) tv show and show WHITE international artists’ songs only. That’s the best solution to spread diversity, inclusiveness etc.

    The person used the N-WORD😅 Maybe cos this N-word was a part of Lamar’s lyrics for that song? Probably that was a reason. Why to censor it?
    Start from black rap artists from the last 3 decades who constantly have used the N-word. Ask them firstly to stop using offensive words.
