Girl you just described my first day working with 8th graders testing , challenging and attempting to cross the line . I’m praying over my students and my school. I spent several years teaching in the trenches of middle school. It’s always challenging at the start bc they like to test you to see if you can meet them where they are, but once they see that you’re a real one, they are a joy to teach. I love that your perspective is that you’re there to do Kingdom Work, bc teaching truly is a ministry. The kids that you get to reach this year are truly a blessed bunch.

Well Ri, enjoy your ME time before you have little ones 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 because once they come, ME time is out the door. They just wanna stay up under you even when you're using the restroom 😂😂😂😂😂 but its a beautiful thing having children. I'm glad that the student who was being disrespectful bumping you finally got herself together.
There’s a special place in heaven for middle school teachers. I teach fourth grade, and can attest that y’all are built different. Lol
Every week we have new guests stop by to say hi. Last week was the toilet, this week is a fly (9:03). I love it here!!!! My people!!

We have similar mindset when it comes to teaching. Calling parents on the second day nipping the negative behaviors in the butt and assigning homework. 😂 I teach 9th grade I be like “ Welcome to high school 😂😂”.
On another note, you’re going to have a great year!
You are strong being in Baltimore city school system they need a teacher who actually is passionate about teaching…these kids are so used to having teachers who do not care. My mom worked in the school system and I have a child in Baltimore city schools they need more teachers like you!

Thank you for letting me know the brown butter cookie is back at target. I bought that up last year when it was out and froze some. I have to run to target and get some. I don’t think anyone else had it. It think it’s a thanksgiving flavor. I don’t know if they had it through Christmas. 😢

God bless you chile! I DO NOT miss teaching. I taught seniors in high school so those little boys thought they were on my level and would be trying to get fresh and I would have to remind them they are teenagers. Grown folks don’t get dropped off at high schools. I remember this one young man was relentless with his remarks of me being so sexy and so this and that. First let me say there is NOTHING sexy about me 😂 but it was still disrespectful. I called the young man’s mother because she was very active with the teachers and his learning. She was unavailable and sent her husband for the meeting. I am explaining to the father the incidents that had occurred and he was looking so puzzled. I asked him if he wanted to say something. This man said to me… I don’t see what the the problem is. Teachers today don’t look like teachers looked when I was in school and you are hot so what’s the issue 😮 I literally had no words! Thankfully we had a really cool principal who did not allow students to disrespect his staff. So the student was transferred out of my class, but it is rough in these schools and y’all don’t make enough money for all that you do. ❤❤❤ and stop allowing that young lady to shoulder bump you. She is trying you. I understand what you are trying to do, but she also needs to learn there are consequences for actions. At the least you need to report her because with you allowing the shoulder bumps she may full on assault you next. Be careful!
