INGREDIENTS
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter (150 gr), room temperature
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (150 gr)
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp granulated sugar (75 gr)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tbsp malted milk powder
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (270 gr)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips (180 gr)

- 2/3 cangkir mentega tawar (150 gr), suhu ruang
- 3/4 cangkir light brown sugar (150 gr)
- 1/4 cangkir + 2 sdm gula pasir (75 gr)
- 1 telur
- 1 sdt ekstrak vanila
- 1 1/2 sdm susu bubuk malt
- 2 1/4 cangkir tepung serbaguna (270 gr)
- 1 1/2 sdt baking powder
- 1/2 sdt soda kue
- 3/4 sdt garam
- 1 cangkir mini chocolate chip (180 gr)

May I know which type of brown sugar should I use there are so many type which brand ?
Hi Jasmine, use light brown sugar for the recipe. I used Ricoman brand which is available in where I live. But if you can't the brand, just use any brand with light brown sugar label on the packaging.
Any substitute for malt powder? Can we omit that?
Malt powder is the key ingredient here to replicate the famous amos chocolate chip cookies flavor. If you can't find any, you can omit or substitute it with milk powder.

Hello, thanks for trying the recipe. You don't need to reduce the flour since the amount of instant coffee is just a little. Since I have never experimented with adding instant coffee in this recipe, I can't exactly be sure about the amount. Maybe try adding 1 tsp at first, taste the dough and add more if preferred. If you prefer strong coffee flavor, you can add up to 4 tsp I think. Let me know if you bake this recipe again and the amount of coffee you use 😁
@@JajaBakesI tried adding 1 teaspoons of Nescafe powder and I compare without adding ,the difference between the taste of the coffee powder the sugar taste was less. And my husband likes the coffee powder because he don’t feel the sugar taste on the coffee powder cookie.Thank you I’m going back again this week followed your recipe . Kak izin tanya, kalau untuk butter dan gula diaduk biasa pakai spatula boleh?
Halo kak, untuk resep ini butter dan gula WAJIB dikocok mesin, tidak bisa pakai tangan. Kalau pakai tangan nnti kue nya keras dan bergerindil. Guna pakai mesin biar menambah volume udara di awal pengocokan, sekaligus membantu melarutkan gula, dan agar teksur kuenya lebih ringan.
Kalau kocok tangan lebih baik pakai whisk daripada spatula. Cuman Saya juga ga saran kocok tangan karena akan capek banget dan hasil pengocokannya juga ga mungkin bisa mengembang seperti pakai mesin.

Hi Mariana, you can reduce the sugars a little bit. If you reduce them too much, it will affect the texture and makes them less crispy or not spreading properly.

Biasa untuk kue kering saya masukkan ke toples dengan silica gel biar lebih awet. Bisa tahan sebulan lebih.

No. I highly recommend using light brown sugar for this recipe. I have tried using palm sugar, baking western chocolate chip cookies, and it did not feel right for me

Bisa cuman capek pake whisk. Liat campuran mentega dan gula nya sampai dia pucat dan mengembang kak. Untuk berapa lama relatif harus liat sendiri warna nya. Kalau untuk campur telur dan tepung hanya sampai tercampur rata saja.

Hai kak, dipanggang160C 11-13 menit atau sampai bagian bawah cookies nya kecokelatan. Awal keluar oven masih agak lembut tapi dia akan mengeras saat sudah mulai dingin.

Kalau ga dikulkasin meleber waktu dipanggang. Kalau ga ada waktu 1 jam saja kulkas juga bisa sih. Kalau di kulkas lama selama 1-3 hari, rasanya lebih enak (rich) untuk semua jenis kue kering cokelat chip

You can omit the milk powder, the recipe works fine without it. However, you will miss the signature Famous Amos cookie flavor.

Refrigerating the chocolate chip cookie dough for 1-3 days will improve the taste and texture of the cookies. If you are in hurry, you can refrigerate the dough 1-2 hours or until firm. But still, I preferred chilling the dough for at least 2-3 days for the best result.

Bisa harusnya. Saya selalu buat pake full mentega, lebih enak rasanya jauh daripada pakai margarin. Perbandingannya sesuai dari masing-masing kak, lebih banyak mentega pastinya lebih enak tentunya.

Hai ka, malted milk powder itu apa? Merk apa ka?
Malted milk powder itu susu bubuk malt putih terbuat dari biji barley. Kalau saya pakai merek Ovaltine. Bisa beli di Tokped cuman emang barangnya lebih susah dapetnya (biasanya Ovaltine Indo yang cokelat). Biasa harus import dari negara tetangga. Saya dulu bahkan belinya dr Batam. Kalau ga ketemu atau males ribet pake susu bubuk biasa bisa juga. Di segi rasa ga beda jauh karena pakainya dikit, malted milk powder lebih buat tambah gurih.

Berapa lama waktu memanggang disesuaikan lagi dengan oven masing-masing kak. Kalau dirasa belum crunchy bisa di panggang yang ke 2x atau bisa dipanggang lamaan dikit sampe cookiesnya keliatan kering. Ukuran cookiesnya juga pengaruh banget, kalau kecil2 cepet keringnya, gedean dikit aja udah nambah waktu manggang nya. Jadi harus disesuaikan masing-masing.
Harusnya setelah panggang dan dingin sempurna sudah crunchy. Mungkin memang perlu lamaan di oven.

Hi Kak Adinda. Kalau hasilnya jadi seperti soft baked cookies artinya ada beberapa kemungkinan:
1. Gula yang dipakai. Apakah benar pakai brown sugar bukan gula palem/aren. Karena di resep Indonesia suka pakai gula palem/aren buat menggantikan brown sugar, tapi efeknya bikin cookies lebih basah karena kandungan molassesnya lebih banyak.
2. Ukuran cookies. Apakah ukuran cookies nya sudah mengikuti spesifikasi resep yaitu dengan takaran 3/4 sendok teh. Kalau buat lebih besar dari itu, bisa menyebabkan cookies butuh waktu lebih lama di oven atau tengah nya basah karena ga mateng sampai ke dalam.
3. Kondisi tiap oven berbeda. Kalau sudah benar2 mengikuti resep dari A-Z, ada kemungkinan cookies nya underbaked/kurang matang makanya tekstur nya seperti soft baked cookies. Cookiesnya bisa dioven kembali dengan suhu rendah sampai benar2 garing sempurna.

@@sausansalsabilla5852 kalau suka manis yg milk chocolate. Kalau ga terlalu suka manis yang 54%. Cokelatnya bisa dipotong2 kecil. Atau ga bisa pake Callebaut Cacao Barry 50% drops yang bentuknya sudah mini chips.
