I believe the area of effect for businesses and offices is too small. It should be larger so that you can decorate your hotels without having to spam buildings around it.
I don't understand why you would need offices close to a hostel

@@timo99nlWhile some representatives are provided with 3-4 star accommodation some smaller companies can't afford that expense and the representative can also be the boss of a smaller company so for the sake of business you sacrifice expenses on luxury.
@@usernameiphone3gkid hardly relevant, I’m making a tropical hotel resort on a small island and it’s annoying having to put office blocks up around the hotel when I want it to look rural and independent.
Could choose a different hotel but ideally if they wanted to us to have offices as a requirement they should have added Little 1x1 or max size 2x2 one floor offices to blend in with the hotels better, just my opinion.
Edit: even better would be to do something like simcity and give us the ability to add an extension wing to the hotel (offices & shops) so we don’t have to clutter the area with additional buildings.
Put the heritage hotel up to the tallest hill, where you have access by the cable car. You have some buildings there that always complain about some things, like police, so now would be a good time to fix it with maybe pedestrian zone. As in the cable cars are part of the hotel and guests get free transit on them.
I love this idea. A castle on top of a mountain is just iconic every time I see one when I travel.
That's what I did with the castle of Lord Chirpwick unique building It looks down over my city from the highest mountain *snobbish laugh* Ah peasants! 😂
I never realized that little Teakyo is simultaneously in fall with the maple trees and spring with the cherry blossoms at the same time haha. Still a super pretty area though!

No he doesn't know all of the features, the city hotels for example has a way of changing styles, without the use of move it. Not disparaging biffa's skill in entertainment or anything, but some people might get the wrong impression, like those playing vanilla or on console.
Edit, for those not in the know, you can change styles in the button beside the move building button.a
The small hotel is sitting on top of a road at the back of it. It totally obscured the road which is y you may not of noticed.👍😉

I dunno about New-Tealand, but that castle would fit well in the medieval town you have on the other city... The English one.
These hotels look good. In one of my game I had a few of a unique one pop all on their own around town (I think it was in an office or commercial zone), and ppl are loving them.
It really is a nice addition, tho for me the #1 DLC so far is still industries (well, after After-dark but it's almost everyone's favorite so not counting that one).
The Tealuxe Hotel seems like a natural fit for the district where all the tall buildings are by Tearantula Terminal.
I feel like those two last hotels need their own dedicated zones. Maybe the deluxe hotel can go in the free space behind the old bentealy station while the castle can go at the base of the tall mountain, down the road to the observatory. Both of those zones would be built adequately to fulfill the requirements for the buildings and they would make such a view, both of them, the deluxe hotel being a centerpiece for the high-rise part of the town while the castle one would have such an historical-like vibe. They would be perfect!
Btw, has alien rock park reached the strongest shape? Cause it is very efficient right now!

I love to see these new buildings in this world ☺ I'm just suprised their surrounding commercial and industry/offices didn't get a happy smilie face from building them nearby 🤷 I think it would make sense for those to get just as exited as we are and level up, no?
Great video Biffa! Just a few corrections for you, the small hotel by the posh mall is overlapping the road behind and the city hotel I believe has a variation tab in the bottom left corner. Love your vids!!!!
I think this is a UA-cam record for the number of times someone says "Finagle". Biffa needs to have a district with finagle in the name in honor of this new favorite word.

The Heritage Hotel, being a castle, needs to be at the top of a mountain. Obviously. The Deluxe Hotel needs to be right on oceanfront.
You should totally rename the "design" hotel to the "tea-sign"hotel. After all, it is a pyramid (tea) bag.

Great video! I just want to add one thing: You can change the variation of the hotel with the small icon just next to the "move" icon. There are 4 variation.
For me these last DLC's are all test to see what people like. I think these are all experiments for CS2. We all know people want more interaction in building the city than only a traffic manager. So the Hotel and resorts, and the last few DLC's/ mini DLC's give, for my feeling, a bit of a preview of what they maybe are going to add in CS2. 😆
Great vid introducing a great looking DLC! I think the heritage hotel would look good at the base of a mountain, it might give the vibes of the likes of Neuswanstien Castle in Germany which is somewhere I'd like to visit one day.

For the DeLuxe Hotel placement, it would be great right outside the Airport terminal. It’s the perfect size for those folks using the airport.
I love this DLC. It's been along time coming. Finally something to boost the tourist industry (which many real life cities depend on). It doesn't seem like it has helped the tour buses very much. It still appears that most tourists use the regular buses.
The deluxe hotel could be placed near a newly built golf course 😊
The game could do with a slight update, to consider large expanses of water to be either Nature, or Sightseeing (or both).
Hoping to see Bed & Biffa make an appearance.

The castle should go down near the fortress, near the nature reserve. The deluxe should go in the new skyscraper area near Tearantula Terminal and the cargo airport.
Biffa, do the 5star hotels have different variations? if so please experiment with those as well, perhaps we can fill more spaces with hotels!

I genuinely love the hotels mechanic. For one thing, the need to balance for the hotels also helps to balance neighborhoods where maybe I did not put in good parks or shopping already. But also, it was like, something that I didn't know was missing from the whole city-building thing. Maybe it'll pall on me over time, but right now, I think it's great!
20:46 this is model of Grand Hotel Tammer, a historic hotel at Tampere Finland. Tampere is also the city where Colossal order (the devs) are headquartered.

I really like this sort of DLC! Hoping Cites: Skylines 2 continues and expands on this kind of thing. Would like to see unique building having more of a function and impact within the area and the city
These aren't unique buildings, but yeah, I know what you mean - the CS1 unique buildings don't serve the purposes that their descriptions imply... shopping malls and office towers that don't provide shopping or offices, buildings with no interaction with the game. Stuff like these hotels, or the banks from the previous mini-DLC... they're interesting and useful, giving new things to do in the game.
Put the heritage hotel on the "Yorkie Park" Island in the mountains and by the sea, Dracula on vacations vibe :D

The mountain lodge needs placing in a remote location and calling "t'Overlook" in honour of Yorkshire, and The Shining hotel (which it looks like)

A throwback to an older play through when I suggested a name for a ferry line; How about "The Serensipotea" for the ship hotel. I think The Serendipity was a paddle steamer in Red Dead Redemption, if memory serves.
At 15 I feel like you should get rid of the parking lot and put a smaller one in small parking lot I don't think they do get quite a lot of uses them hotels but you got a parking lot next to that tales attraction got a massive Park not there I feel like that Pokémon put a smaller one in underground parking lot and then you can make some officers are commercial there 1500
I think you should build an area around your Deluxe hotel. It's massive and demands it's own space!
Looks like a great pack in general but needs tweaking. Too sensitive to sound in built up hotels who do have measures built in. Too small a radius for needs. And if it's a rural cabin or retreat why on earth would anything but nature or such be a need?

the city hotel can be changed in to different size by clicking on to the hotel and where you use the move it feature, you'll find a icon with hotel on it.
The one that looks a castle, just put it in the mountain as well, like it ancient castle and you can surround it with castle walls
Should have named the hotels the Bee & Tea chain with a bee sipping tea as a logo.
This is the first expansion I've seen in a while from this game that I'm actually interested in. Sunset Harbor and Airports just seem poorly executed and relatively unnecessary. Financial Districts is cool but I think money is too easy to make in this game, I don't really see the point other than adding another level of realism to the whole city planning experience. This expansion reminds me of SimTower for some reason. I think this one really blends well with the original spirit of the game and didn't focus too much on the specialized-district mechanic that drove the other expansions.
I'm a little concerned about what went in all those blank spots

EDIT: My hotel suggestions:
1) The Design Hotel it looks like a Hyatt Regency so I think it should be called the *High Teagency.*
2) The Deluxe Hotel should be located somewhere near Tearantula. Maybe call it the *Tearan Plaza?*
3) The Heritage Hotel I think should be located by that German/European castle shopping area over by the Opera House iirc and called the *New Tealand Arms.*
In real life locally we've got a Travelodge and a Premier Inn, both located on industrial estates

The hotels in the sugar cube area should be called the Tongs!

For the last two hotels you should put one near the amusment park and I think the last one you should build a new area around the hotel.
Tourism specialized commercial should boost both tourism and commercial. And walking and bus tours should boost tourism without taking up space.

City Hotel is sually good in a central district near a train station where there is a lot of things around like shops and offices as well as some touristic attractions.
Conference Hotel works best near a financial/IT Cluster or general office district to be honest.
That DLC isn't the priority for sure but it gives some exotism, at least better than the vanilla Tourism Spec on districts which gives you the same building over and over again that are usually abandonned anyway.
With all those Hotels, Cities Skylines had mutated into Monopoly.

you see it's not just Hotel that get money from tourist but also the transportation - comercial- park /all of them effect by more tourist in your city
so it's very best DLC for making tourist city

This DLC could be better, you are basically forced to spam offices and commercial right next to the hotel, but then the nature rating goes way down...
32:44 looks alot like Mercure + Ibis hotel
Commercial block services would work well here then hide it inside the back of the hotel or put 4 blocks inside 1 Commercial building
place the huge hotel in the main land, and the castle hotel on the mountain with cable cars as transport to it

heritage one feels like it should be near the fortress or older style buildings

Heritage Hotel next to a nature reserve/sightseeing area in or on the mounting top. That last hotel should go near the pre-airports airport area near the area that was built for the transportation dlc pack.... Or you could build up an area near the major airport dlc area... Whichever works!
i think the deluxe hotel could go somewhere by the tearantula station. dont think there is a hotel in that area. also that area could use one.
Biffa! Not sure if you have, or not, but have you ever tried to do a 6-in-1 roundabout? Akin to the Magic Roundabout in Swindon? Might be interesting to experiment with if you are feeling particularly insane one day!

I think you should change the name of your Hotel Chain to “Biffotel International” as a nod to the Sofitel chain.
The only unfortunate thing about the whole leveling up framework is that once you do it it's just like 'what now?'.. some of the buildings do be pretty nice though
