A question from central Europe: What is the second sheet between your body and the duvet, that is in its own cover sheet already, actually for? No one heard of this thing over here, thanks! :D
that's called a "top sheet", it acts as a barrier between the duvet & the body so you don't have to wash the duvet cover as often & instead you can just wash the top sheet

Top sheet, or just sheet. (I call that one a sheet and the other one a fitted sheet). Basically it’s there to act as a barrier, because the duvet cover can be more difficult to wash because it’s more bulky, so the top sheet is there so that you can usually wash that instead, and you have to wash the duvet cover much less often. It doesn’t have a cover by the way, it’s just one sheet that just goes on the bed.
laaate reply, but an addon to the whole "helps keep the duvet cleaner" : heat gets trapped between layers, so a bed with a a sheet and duvet, despite the sheet being so thin, keeps the heat inside better :)

Why do people hate something they don’t understand. A duvet is like a pillow case for the blanket. To make it more comfortable by adding extra weight and or warmth. Therefore called a comforter!

Terrible hack. Put bedsheet inside out, put hands in the corners, grab ends of duvet, do a flippy thing, done. 20 seconds max.
RMNOLEKS I do this always but my duvet is king size and I can’t make it by my self , I had to wait always for my daughter to come and help me, and it still takes so much time . If this trick works I would love to try it . It will save me time and shoulders pain 🙏🏻

I can do that with a single bed duvet but even the double duvet is too wide
you can do the duvet sm easier by just grabbing the inside of the duvet cover by the corners and then grabbing the corners of the duvet and flipping it right way out

Mines too wide and the cover doesn’t slip down it, it just stays thwre
I simplified this even further. No pillow only a pillow slip to protect my mattress protector and no top sheet, the duvet /doona cover gets washed each time. For years I struggled to sleep. Turns out I am a tummy sleeper so don't need one. I sleep better now.

Literally never heard of a duvet. I just have a fitted bottom sheet top and a comforter.
But how is there a pattern on the duvet cover
The flat sheet was folded over top. that's why it's placed pattern face down so when it's folded back the pattern shows

Yup - so when you pull it aside when getting in to bed, you see the printed pattern rather than the non-printed side.
Also percale is smoother on one side.

The way he puts the duvet inside the cover is the most stupid way I've ever known. And leave the clips inside.. really?!!
It holds the comforter in place. It’s for added warmth and “comfort.” As being snuggled. You don’t have to wash the whole comforter/ blanket. Just the duvet. It’s like a pillow case for the blanket.
