When I was younger, I thought that removing the tag of a pillow or comforter I had was a crime, until I learned the meaning of the word “consumer.” Lol!
Jessica I was just telling someone the other day that when I was young I thought the same thing. I thought I was walking on the wild side because every so often I would tear it I really thought I was getting a way with something. I blamed that (and a lot more things) on being an only child if I had a sibling I wouldn't have to go around breaking the law:) I really don't think anyone noticed now that bums me out..
I'm so glad you made this video. So many people don't know how to make a bed properly. Back in my younger days, housekeeping was taught in school so everyone knew. A beautifully made bed is so inviting and such a treat after a long day. It really invokes that restful state of mind. I like white sheets too b/c I can bleach the hell out of them. LOL However, my favorite is when I can hang them on the line in the bright sunshine and they get that wonderful clean-air smell and the percale gets that awesome crunchiness. Thank You for another great video.
Thank you for making a video that isn’t 90%talking and that last minute is actual making of the bed. Its simple and to the point!! Awesome video, thank you!!
Very good job making the bed!!! As a hotel housekeeper, I fully appreciate a nicely made bed and sometimes make 20+ beds per day. One thing I can suggest is to down on knees or as close to floor as possible when doing corners to prevent back pain. I love these types of videos!!!
Thank you so much, this is the best bed making video I’ve seen (I’ve watched quite a few) I had no idea the importance off a mattress protector. Also didn’t think about a blanket, that what I’ve been missing! I just love the way you explain things. Thank you again for making these videos. You take the time to do all the research to make our lives easier. You are a godsend. God bless you!

I don't need the sheets changed daily and if the trash gets full I change it myself. If my room does get picked up and my sheets changed I leave them a tip my last day there. Is all of this ok or does management give you a hard time about any of it and take the tip from you? I’m from France and at first I was a little bit confused when you explained the hospital fold. Our hospital/military fold is called a « squarred fold » (un lit « au carré » in French) and it is a little bit different : 3 tucks as well but the final fold is at the edge of the corner of the mattress, so you get a 90° angle. I really enjoy those little cultural differences. Love your channel, it’s really fun to watch and you give us so many ideas to make our home confortable.

American beds are crazy🤣 I love how they look but it's crazy to me to do this daily, here in Europe we have one duvet that you pull straight in the morning and pillows-that's it.
Mini Story time: Once when I was a kid and my family was in the process of moving, we had to stay at the house we had already moved the bedding from, because of inclement weather. My family stopped by the store and us kids picked out a throw pillow and blanket set each. The tag was massive and when we were setting up our sleeping spaces, I took mine off. It was so long-what did it say anyway? I read it and was immediately scared that I broke the law. It didn’t make sense. How could anyone else own the right to the tag staying on when my parents bought it? I looked over at my law-abiding siblings who were sleeping on top of their pillows, tag and all. I was in this alone. Nobody else to go with me to tell my parents what I had done. Sleep did not come easily that night. I hope my parents don’t get in trouble for keeping this fugitive. In the Morning I approached mom. Who knew what lay ahead? The best words I heard that day were “We are the consumers.” Who cared what that even meant? I was no longer a 10 year old heading for jail.
I think it looks very pretty, but I can't stand to have any pressure on my feet, so I do the same: untuck everything except the fitted sheet before I can go to bed.
@@ellyjuhlke5 Uhm! Sweat dries, so it her mattress the only one ever made that perpetually holds moisture? She is making stuff up. Mattresses don't gain weight like that.
Why are duvets the freaking devil?! I've always had comforters, but fell in love with this gorgeous blush pink crushed velvet duvet from West Elm last year and decided to give it a try. Despite having clips on each of the corners, the comforter inside always slips down leaving nothing filling out the top and creating a pool at the bottom of the bed. It also looks nowhere near as plush and fluffy as the product photos; I found out later they usually put 2 super thick comforters inside the duvet to achieve that look and it's just way too hot for that in Southern California.
Nice nice. A lot of work! I bet you were all like oh gosh! I just did all this work for the video. Ahh. I think the decor pillows is what makes it looks luxurious hotel. Wow.
im lucky that my mother taught me how to fold & tuck a proper bed, (my kids think im nuts, picky, and have unnecessary methods), but with some frames, and bedspreads, they look better untucked. Its nice to see im not the only person on the planet, who is picky, and like things perfect! Thank you!
I am with you on keeping it simple..I no longer use a top sheet.. I just wash doona cover weekly. I think I would like to like to move to a comforter too!!! That would make it even easier!! 🥰🥰💜🌸
My mother taught me well !!! This is exactly what I do except.,,,,,,,for the final decorative touches that I gave up years ago. It’s time to get that back. 🇨🇦
Ok I give you credit for the tucking, pillow cover tip, and the different stacking ideas. I struggle with this and I am tired of it being work at night and in the morning. Still I want it to look clean and neat during the day. I think I am getting the hang of it but my problem is my eye catches little things that I don't like. I settled on one layer of queen pillows standing in the back and 4 20x20 arranged in the front...for now.
Hello Brittany. Just wondering if you could make a video sometime on how you would put on the pillow cases and pillow protectors. I enjoyed this video very much. I don’t know why I love watching how people change their bed sheets. Do you hold the pillow under your chin when you put the pillow cases on?? All great ideas but my favorite idea is the essential oil idea. I’m am going to try that . Thank you! Love your videos .
So funny. "Except by consumer." Everyone fears cutting tags but doesn't understand they are they consumer. 🤣🤣🤣
I know! I thought it was illegal for me to remove those tags all my childhood :P
Love the added touch of the essential oil’s. Love watching your videos you always make me smile
Seriously that "your mattress will be heavier in a few years fact grossed me out so much 😂😂🤮
“Double in weight” 💀
She forgot to mention sweat, that’s the main reason it gets heavier!
@@ellyjuhlke5 Uhm! Sweat dries, so it her mattress the only one ever made that perpetually holds moisture? She is making stuff up. Mattresses don't gain weight like that.
Love the way your bed looks! I’m gonna have to try the tuck
“The Pillow Police”! Too funny!😂
Where you buy your bed? Model? Thanks
I have a mattress cover but not the pillow covers, thank you for suggesting this.. I’m running out to get them. Thank you for all of your videos!
Love the way you made that bed. Looks so luxurious. Also I too have the Santal essential oil and it smells amazing.
I swear Ryan was an actor his his past life🤣
Love the way you did the pillows...less to take off the bed at night!
I love it! I just don’t unmake my bed day to day, I sleep on top of my bedding just with a blanket on me🤷🏽♀️ idk why I’ve just always done it.
Getting the duvet into its cover blew my mind!!! I shared it with my mom and girlfriends lol love your videos ❤
I like the way your bed looks, but I can't sleep with my feet all confined by having the sheets tucked in!
My fav was that essential oil tip always looking for perfect scent thank you!
When you have the boyfriend over the first time and want to impress
Truly said
Meanwhile, you shove all your dirty laundry in a closet. But create the facade of organization. Lol
I have always used a mattress protector, but never thought to protect my pillows great tip!!
I’m just a kid and wanted to know how to impress my parents making my bed. But this is too much
If it makes you feel any better I’m an adult and my partner (a grown up) cannot make the bed very well at all. It looks like a 2yr old made it.
Me too😅😊
Same
If I can get around my bed I can make a bed. When we move our bed is going to be in the middle of the room
@soapfan2700 oh whew. I thought you might be an adult dating a kid. Thanks for clarifying
Nice nice. A lot of work! I bet you were all like oh gosh! I just did all this work for the video. Ahh. I think the decor pillows is what makes it looks luxurious hotel. Wow.
$100 on a pillow is a lot. Especially when you have to discard them every 6 months, without a protective cover, and 1 year with a protective cover.
Are you serious, just try washing them.
im lucky that my mother taught me how to fold & tuck a proper bed, (my kids think im nuts, picky, and have unnecessary methods), but with some frames, and bedspreads, they look better untucked. Its nice to see im not the only person on the planet, who is picky, and like things perfect! Thank you!
I know I’m getting old when I’m watching how to make your bed up for fun-
Just did the duvet trick and worked like a charm! Thank you! 😁
Definetly loved the 45 degree tip! Looked hard but will try it
Ok I give you credit for the tucking, pillow cover tip, and the different stacking ideas.
I don’t know what that looks like so if you could show me that would be good.
I loved the pillow stacking options and the duvet hack!
