“There must be quite a few things a hot bath won't cure, but I don't know many of them. ' - Sylvia Plath. Another magnificent instalment Ana! Love your work so much on these videos.
this is the first video of yours that i'm seeing and the way that i GASPED when you so confidently snatched that book from what i thought was just an amazingly steady loose pile of books
Looking forward to read the ‘when breath becomes air’. I have heard great things about the book, thanks for showcasing the book, Ana. Last week I did read ‘Thinking fast and slow’ and the Hemmingway’s ‘the old man and the sea’. I am currently reading ‘Steve Jobs’. Selected poems of Robert Frost and will be here by tomorrow. Happy reading🎉
Oh wow! Loved Steve Jobs when I read it--still think about picking it back up often. Love the way Isaacson writes. And hope you love Frost poems--they put you in the right headspace to just take things a bit slooooow.
Omg! I read 13 memoirs last year, one of them being When Breath Becomes Air and it was devastating but I did love it. Another great video Ana ur the coolest!
Frost made sure to be out of there long before they ran that noisy road through the place 😄😸 I have spent a little time in the upper New York State country and in the Adirondacks back in the Boy Scouts. These days you can't get me out of NYC anymore. We have parks here for the nature stuff and did you know our parks are full of migrating bird species each Spring that country towns do NOT ever see? And I'm sure you picked up Frost thinking winter poems as we all do (the name, obviously) only to find just as many spring and summer ones
Hahaha! Yes, Frost got the hellouttathere before that. Though, it's not a huge highway, so I can't even complain that much. And yes! Frost isn't as frosty as you'd think. He's got more of a spring in his step tehehe
1) Never in the history of ever have I thought of a vulva when using a peach emoji. 2) I LOVE PHYSICAL 100. So goddamn heartwarming. It hit everything I ever wanted in a show. I kept saying out loud “this is my favorite show ever.” Check out Run For The Money. Not as great as Physical 100 but basically it’s a giant game of hide and seek from “the hunters” in a Japanese amusement park.
I was in the bath when I read about the peach comparison and I almost went under RUN FOR THE MONEY SOUNDS PERFECT AND I WILL CHECK IT OUT TONIGHT THANKYOU
oh, baby, the curls are getting random deep conditioners (I've been using ouai lately). I've also been sleeping with it up in a nice silk hairband! Helps keep volume!
😂 Just found your channel last week and I've found my one true book tube angel! Love the looks, the books, the humour, the editing! Love from North London ❤
very curious to know what youtube channels do you like to watch, tbh. love your videos, i've been binge watching them non-stop and i have started reading a philosophy of walking in my breaks from studying (philosophy, lol) and i'm liking it so far, so thank you sm!
I still think about that book! so happy you picked it up. It gets a bit dense toward the end, but it's really insightful just to see these strange walking habits of great thinkers. tbh, as of late, I've been watching a lot of graphic design yt and asmr lol
I can't believe you mentioned Physical 100 it's my new favorite too! I keep trying to get people onto it but the English dubbing takes some getting used to I think. I'm the opposite though about knowing who wins, I have watched the first couple episodes a handfull of times but have not finished it because I don't want it to be over 😖
I feel like we have similar tastes so I figured Id share what Im reading here too!!!! Currently listening to My Year of R&R by Ottessa Mosfegh finally and I am really liking it, as I did her book Lapvona. She read it herself on Audible and I swear she has one of the best voices for the job. Ive also been eyeing up Near to the Wild Heart, which my boyfriend got me on valentines. Another book I have been dying to read is the memoir by James St James, Disco Bloodbath / Party Monster. I loved the movie so much. I have been trying to read Even Cowgirls Get the Blues by Tom Robbins and I really like his prose for the most part but the thumb thing, idk, kind of irritates me? Anyways another exceptional video and very interesting recommendations PER YUGE! 🌹
Omg, literally obsessed with Party Monster. Found it on the side of the road, but turned it away because I think someone else needs it in their life more than me. Also love James St. James. I think I'm going to read more Ottessa this year. She's such a weirdo and I can't thank her enough for being authentically invested in that part of herself. It's refreshing!
I highly recommend the book Fearing The Black Body by Sabrina Strings. She speaks at length about Sarah Baartman in the context of how fatphobia is rooted in anti-Blackness. I think it should be essential reading for all people. Have a wonderful week :)
the bathtub shot looks from a sofia coppola movie omg! also i would love to see you reading an argentinian book so i have an interesting recommendation for you. “optic nerve” by maría gainza. beautiful descriptions of buenos aires, beautiful observations of art and paintings, and interesting life stories 🩶
PBS will call soon ... they gonna want ya girl! *On Location with Ana Wallace Johnson* ... after that, the world shall be your oyster. I read something - yay! 'Lucky Dog Lessons by Brandon McMillan' ... not helping. Gaaahhh! But - I had a scone and very strong coffee - raised the cup to you dahlin! xoxo
Who's woods these are / I think I know / his house is in the village though / he will not see me stopping here/ to watch his woods fill up with snow - I had to memorize the poem in 7th grade, when I was a little baby person. That's all I can remember but I'll probably remember it forever.
I loved Physical 100, but they kept translating the F-word in Korean to "damn it" which I thought was hilarious. I don't know if that was also true in the dubbing. There's a lot of controversy surrounding it in Korea, about the games being rigged especially the finale, and them not showing exactly how injured people got, etc. But I still loved it
hahah! I was wondering how truthful the dubbing was. It was literally the same ten phrases over and over again. And I heard allll about the controversy--it makes me a bit more obsessed with it tbh
The big one is a family heirloom by the designer kielselstein cord. Little stackers are from bingbang. All others are from random places that I'm not sure I could track down specifics!

🥺 omg literal dream compliment
Can we just take a moment to appreciate your masterful editing that always and without exception puts me in a great mood? Love it🤩
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This makes it all worth it!

Sylvia was onto something, that's for sure. Thank you so much--I have so much fun with these, so it's wonderful to hear you enjoy them.

the absolute terror i felt when you pulled out 'butts' from your stack of books because i didnt realize there were shelves
hahaha I play with fire sometimes
the best best thumbnail I've ever seen!! that bath and book look delicious, great vlog as always
we love a bath screen grab
The vlogging part of the video and the thumbnail has a vibe from a Wes Anderson movie. Amazing work.

oh, that piece just about did me in. only saw it when we came back and I started editing lmao
ahh the bathtub moment is very wes anderson!
'name me a better thing to talk about' - how good your hair is looking, omg x
Wes has been my major inspo lately! The cut jump shots are a nod.

I have some little crushies on the contestants lmao, so if I kept rewatching, I'd get obsessed
I went down a rabbit hole of death when I read when breath becomes air, and read all of the books mentioned in that book. Incredible
Did you read How We Die??
Yes!! It was phenomenal! It was a little technical at parts but overall it was so interesting!
Ana, not sure why you only have 13K subscribers, but when the other million catch up, watch out 🙂 So glad I found your channel- love your content!!

a book about butts with no mention of my voluptuous, juicy can? preposterous, no wonder it was no good.
holy shit ahahahahaha voluptuous, juicy can-adian
hahah glad to know i'm not the only one that watches the endings of tv shows (it's a sometimes for me)
I will die from anticipation if I don't know how a 10 season show ends
That poor single puzzle piece! 🧩 😂😂 the unintentional pun! 😅 girl I’m the same! I need spoilers for tv shows!!
lmaooo the puzzle piece was found a week later. Didn't even know it was abandoned. Bad puzzle mom!

Your review of Butts was 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! I didn't want to be too harsh, but I had to speak my truth

I don't know if you have heard the choral piece called The Pasture based on the Robert Frost poem. It's really beautiful.
Oh wow, no, I'm not entirely sure that I have. I'll listen to it on a walk
@@AnaWallaceJohnson The Pasture - Chicago Children's Choir is the one I am thinking of. Simple and beautiful.🎶
