I marched in the Battle of Flowers parade in 1960 when I was in JROTC at St Benedict's grammar school. It was quite an honor for us! Several of my friends and our son-in-law are A&M graduates. Our son-in-law in addition to being the Corp of Cadets was also played tackle and was a member of the Wrecking Crew. He is now and Army LTC. We are very proud of James and our daughter's good taste in men! My Grandfather was a Sergeant of Calvary in the United States Army in 1916. He always stressed that he was a Sergeant of Cavalry; not a just a sergeant!
After the parade they stop at AGGIE PARK where the band is given lunch drinks etc sing a couple of songs and reloaded on buses to go home, we do this every year
Thanks for the video report! The FTAB looked and sounded sharp as ever, the RV's got it done, and the FDT looked small in comparison to its former glory years. Parson's Mounted Cavalry was splendid! Someone put a lot of $$ and effort behind the PMC. Whoop!
🏆🏆🏆🙏🇺🇲🇨🇱 So very proud of these extraordinary young people. NO other band, civilian nor military has such precision and perfection. God bless them all and watch over them 👍♥️
The guy who wrote the Aggie War Hymn back in the trenches of WW1 performed it with a guy from my high school. That friend knew that we didn't have an official fight song yet, so he asked him if he could use it for our school's fight song, and said the 1920's version of "Totally, just go for it," and so now we do it too. We did speed it up a bit tho. Personally, I like my version better!.
Battle of Flowers Parade is a huge parade during Fiesta in San Antonio. It’s been going on since 1891. Originally was to celebrate the heroes of the Battle of the Alamo, San Jacinto and Goliad. www.battleofflowers.org/about-us/history/
Mark Wolfshohl The camera doesn’t do justice for the number of cadets that were involved. There were over 600 in total. It doesn’t look like much on the screen, but there was a great showing by A&M.
Stephanie Kainer they are all members of the Corps of Cadets as well. They are in a special group called the Ross volunteer company (RV for short). Juniors and seniors only. Three outfits. Approximately 140 cadets. Male and female.
Aren't they just PERFECT!!!
The Aggie Band absolutely DOMINATES every venue in which it appears.

This was my mom's favorite song from A&M😢😢😢😢😢
Thank you for posting this. Seeing the Band is always a treat but the addition of the Mounted Calvary was truly great!

I love A&M more than I love America. Class of 1978.
lol
If It were not for the United States You would NOT HAVE TEXAS A&M
William Gilkey Incorrect sir. Texas is the only Nation to have joined the United States.
Alan Koemel Negative. Hawaii was a country too.

Didn’t know the Parsons Calvary were so large, many, many, horses!
edward licence I think they have around 75 horses total.
Great job thanks
There must be a lot of dust in the air because it is getting in my eyes.

Nice. It's one of those big 12 things. I guess it's not much of a big 12 thing
That’s it? Where the hell are the rest?

Aggie ban 4 way
no clean up crew if hoses take a dump during the march?
dcentral there was a cleanup crew; just didn’t get them in the video. There was another group of horses right behind this group.
The Drum major with the phone in his pocket is out of uniform
Those aren’t cadets in the white right

Don’t you mean “cavalry?”
Wink Prince 🤪. -1 for spelling. Good catch. Can’t change it on the video....ugh.
Fair parade, but can’t beat the Bailiwick of Jersey’s Battle of Flowers parade, 120 years old and still going strong.
When they want to the Americans can march
