    I love it, I got a mandolin and am gettin a new one for my birthday. The Greeks invented so many great things for us - trigonometry, democracy, the socratic method - but none of them compares to the bouzouki!

    Im 81 YO (1-24-42) [1-24-2023] and a student of music for years. The first music was the wind and or water, second was nature singing in nature, birds or animals, third was human a mother happily singing to her child, forth where/are manmade items being used my humans, fifth I'm not sure, i'm thinking of things on the planet earth, other sounds maybe above and or beyond earth. We made tools and some of them made a sound, i.e. a bowstring when released, a rock when it hits a target, etc, yes I remember the human whistle, singing voice etc. Then a hollow reed blown through, a gut string held loose or tighter an arrow in flight etc. An animal hide hit soft or hard, but in time we began making instruments just for their unique sounds and in time adding this one with that one we formed our first band without even knowing it, ha. Thousands of years later we now have hundreds or thousands of toys/instruments/machines/etc that we use for music or our personal enjoyment. Do you play? I'm a string type of guy, violin-mandolin-Irish bouzouki-banjo-ukulele and my personal radio, FM classical, hey I'm an older guy now...right? I'm a dad, a granddad and OH MY GOD a great gd, who would of thunk! bye. P. Hart, Espanola, N.M.

    your bouzouki is made by Joe Foley? do you know if he is still building? i have one I have had to repair it couple times. the high strings break easily at standard so I took the whole tuning down a pitch....that confuses other players in a circle .I don't see many of his in USA...

    So is it g d a d or g d g e?

    • @Blokfluitgroep
      @Blokfluitgroep Рік тому +2

      she started with g d a e (fifths), but after she started with Irish music she used g d a d. In this video she uses g d a d too: in the beginning she plays the g d a e as an example by adding one finger on the lowest string (0:13).
      I don't know the g d g e tuning.
