Hi Randy. Thanks for the plug. You were a pleasure to deal with. I’ll make sure I do some updates on all the cars when they arrive. Cheers from down here! 👍👍👍👍. Thanks for sorting the AC and battery too man! 👍🎉
Well enjoy the truck those are the best years and I have seen 1 million miles on these. I was hoping to see more of this truck and it would be great to have another one. I had a 98 Cheyenne and I miss it
Randy’s going global. No doubt in my mind that was going to happen eventually. Just a good guy selling decent, great older cars with an honest upfront attitude. Wish all dealers were like you sir. Great video, thinning the herd again. Can’t wait to see what else you find. 👍🏻
The SPOUT (SPark OUTput) connector is the little plug on the wires going into the TFI module on the distributor. You have to pull it out before setting the timing. Pulling it eliminates the timing advance function by disconnecting the ECU from the ignition system.
It's not the engine computer on the vic, its the ignition module. That module next to the SPOUT connector on the fender. When you remove the gray plug which is essentially a jumper, the engine runs at base timing. When it's in, the ICM will be in control of the timing. It's a common failure on Fords of that era the engine won't run when the ICM tries to advance the timing.
Having issues like this scare me on this age of car. Always wanted a Crown Vic but it would have to be immaculate and low miles. One of the reasons I'm planning a trip to the USA to go car hunting. It would probably be the only car in my state. And yes I'm used to the parts costs as I had a Grand Cherokee and I used to get parts from Mercedes as they were cheaper than Jeep parts.
I love the way you are so honest about your vehicles. If I lived in your country by you I would buy any vehicle off of you or get you to get the kind i want. Honesty does pay off.😊😊😊😊
The Crown Vic will probably be the only one in Australia. Mark's collection is getting bigger. I always wanted one but they were too new to import unless you convert them to RHD. Guess they are old enough now. I've never seen a side post battery but Mark is smart enough to work out getting new power leads for our batteries.
Thanks for yet another brilliant video Randy, and wow the Monte Carlo came up really nice with a wash. Unfortunately we don't get any cool cars like that here in crappy England!!! 😞
I very much enjoy your videos, Randy, and have subscribed for a few years now, I think. I just watch you & Mike more now. Best wishes to a great guy!! 👍🏻🙏🏻💯😎
The sound of a old 5.0 manual does it for me. I was a teenager wishing I could own one. I had a 76 ford f100 with a 5.0 and it sounded good and was beautiful but the mustang gt or lx was what I wanted.
I love it when you turn the radio on in the Vic!! For a few seconds, the song that can be heard is "Listen to Your Heart" by Roxette with the most beautiful voice of Marie Fredriksson, who is my absolute favourite singer!! ❤❤❤❤
A few times. Usually the battery was leaking and caused the bolt to fuse to the terminal. Usually you could chop it off and replace the cable end with the battery. The Chrysler cloud cars also used the side post battery in the driver's front wheel well. When it happened on those, the cable wasn't long enough for repair, you had to replace the whole cable.
I was trying to help a customer jumpstart her Chevy Equinox...it didn't happen because I had no way of removing the computer to access the battery. Yeah...
11:16 you can also check it with a meter and ohm it out to see if it’s open or closed and that would tell you the status of the switch. If you have continuity, then the switch is on and commanding the compressor.
Even though I’m 25 and in that young age group, I can’t stand that shit either. My local Walmart auto center is the same way. Waited forever while the employees screwed around. All young people. I was so pissed I didn’t have them do all of the work I went in for because I didn’t want to spend hours more. At the 2hr mark they didn’t even have the tire change done let alone the headlight cleaning and oil change. I refuse to return. I’ll pay more elsewhere.
That Onstar cover is a pain in the rear. It wouldn't stay on in my 01 Impala either. Try bending the metal brackets that the plastic clips go into on the right side towards the back of the car.. Sometimes that helps keep it on.
If the ambient temperature is real low, the computer will inhibit the compressor clutch. Also if it does energize with low temps, it's gonna be running with low pressure and cycling rapidly trying to keep the evaporator from freezing up.
You realize that you are not a child anymore when, after just listening to a couple of seconds of a song from the late 80s, you already know the name of the song and the group it belongs to hahaha minute 27:17 "Listen to your heart" by Roxette :)
for the mustang cobra the clutch is probably sized to the flywheel one trick we use to do with farm tractors we pull with another vehicle and put the vehicle with the stuck clutch is put in higher gear like 4th or 5th let the motor spin and hit the clutch few times till frees up sometimes it free up after we've done that you put in first gear drive it about a foot or two then shut it off and put in reverse pop in and out the gears few times and most the time they work no problems after ive done done it with old farm trucks as well
Good morning Randy. Finally sold three cars to a guy in Australia. One has left and the other two are about to leave. Hopefully you made your money back.
My take on abs is it never gets used and overtime something happens to it. Therefore, every now and then I hit my brakes hard to cycle the abs. I don't know if it helps or not but it doesn't hurt and I've never had a abs issue.
Just saying you have that large yard there. You should consider building a larger shop/barn there. You would have more space to store the vehicles and they would be easier to work on multiple cars at a time. You could even have a couple of lifts.
Yea expensive man for sure but really good if you had that amounts of money 💴 and actually know your there for years using it like business good investment perhaps 🤔 but definitely 💯 expensive tho man!..👍👌
Love that Crown Vic. Washing the Dale jr. car...Amazing. i want that flashlight. Harbor freight should sponsor you. If i could give you 2 thumbs up, i would.
No Shit, vehicles being used down under! I thought you guys rode donkeys and maybe a kangaroo if they didn’t kick your ass! What’s your UA-cam page I’ve gotta see what’s happening down there! Ok Mate good luck with AAR vehicles, Randy seems to find the Gems
I worked as a lube tech for $5/hr and I never screwed around wasting peoples' time because of my pay. I always gave my all to whatever job I worked at. I worked for Burger King at $4.25/hr and always gave my best. If you accept a position you had to accept the pay. Low pay does not give a person a free pass to be a bad employee. At the end of the day you have the choice to accept the job at the pay offered or to pass for something else. It's not the customers fault the employee had low pay so why should we suffer for it?
I might be trading for something even more rare than your Junior Monte Carlo. 03 Dodge Ram 3500 Gas, Laramie, Regular Cab, Dually. In all of my years managing a Dodge store, don't know that I've ever seen one. These videos are great!! You should definitely keep slipping them in here and there.

Side post batteries… GM’s worst idea ever.
Amen 😂
I was glad when they finally got away from them.
How many times you have the little screw break off in the battery? Only happened to me once
