- A narrated 4K Toronto cycling video. This bike ride starts off at the Chester Hill lookout and heads east through Greektown along Danforth Avenue to Jones Avenue. From there I head south down to Lake Shore Blvd East and ride in the eastbound lanes which were closed to motorized vehicles as part of the ActiveTO program. I then ride along Queen Street through the Beaches neighbourhood and head down to the waterfront trail and ride alongside Balmy Beach, Scarboro Beach, Kew Beach and Woodbine Beach. I then ride past Tommy Thompson Park and Cherry Beach before making my way up to Parliament Square Park. I recorded this ride on Saturday, June 13 just before 4:00 pm.The temperature was a rather nice 20 degrees Celsius. The Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic continues but people are still out and enjoying the city.

Thanks so much for this amazing ride and adding your voice to it was so heart warming🥰 love to hear the little history as you go along and I enjoy hearing how you started your UA-cam channel 💞 continue to be safe 🤗
Thanks and that means you watched it until the end :) haha... Appreciate the kind words!
As always , I really enjoy your videos about Toronto and different places that you point out along the way! We hope to get to Toronto again in 2021!
Thank you and I hope you can visit too!
Another great narrative scenic video.
I like the speed that you are traveling at Johnny.
The views which you capture are priceless. 2 thumbs up.
Thanks Ted! I'm going to work on not having the camera sway and "jump around" as much. It seems to be a bi-product of when I talk as the older vids don't do it so much.
My dad used to take me to the greenwood racetrack too when I was younger he has since passed he would of been disappointed that it is gone. Great video thanks
I'm sure it was sorely missed by many. The track at woodbine sits inside the thoroughbread track, it's just too far to get a good view of IMO.
My mother took me there also
I'm glad you made this a narrated ride. Your commentary is excellent, and I would say you and CJ Hoyle are definitely on par. I really enjoy both of your rides. Thanks for making these! I'm definitely going to be watching every single one of them by the end of March, when I can take my good bike out again :)
Really beautiful Johnny you are getting better every day Thanks I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you! 👍
Great day for the beach! I enjoy these types of blogs.
Thank you! There will be more :)
Another great video. Sound was perfect.
Thanks! I'd still like the vocals to be a bit more crisp but the external mic falls apart in heavy winds... I'll be tweaking this setup until I get it perfect. I also need to work on less swaying side to side, I find I tend to do that when I talk versus the rides where I don't talk (after going back and watching them). Thanks for the support!
Absolutely love this video
Thank you! 👍
I used to ride from Greenwood area Little Italy at 25 Inwood Ave. Off of Salmon Ave in the Greenwood area Back in the 60's and '70's to get downtown faster than the Danforth during the day. Less traffic. Awsome stuff my man. Thanks for brinin it back for me/us. 👽I'm in ur 'timewarp' dude.👍
Wow, back when the racetrack was there right? You're welcome and thanks for watching!
I really love it bitterly but I live in Somalia the cycling was top-notch thank you sir
Thanks!
Hey Johnny, nice biking videos! And btw its cool when you narrate...
Thank you and I'll try to keep it up :)
Excellent Ride Strides. Way to avoid those almost collisions .....as usual. Haven't heard Dickey Dee used in a long time. Stay Safe.
Your'e welcome, and I don't think they're called that anymore... but that's what I call them lol
This was a very pretty and scenic route! Also a part of the city, I usually don't go to so it was very nice to experience a new area! Many thanks!
You're very welcome and thanks for watching!
thanks for efforts
Welcome!
love this ,best part of city I grew up there
🍎 Great ride. Really enjoyed it. And I really enjoyed the story of how you started your channel. Very interesting. Thanks so much. - H
Thanks Henry, glad it was appreciated!
Gracias Johnny por mostrar ese hermosos lugares y el día muy lindo .
Thank you!
wonderful ride...love from india...
I hope you make more videos with narration!! But thanks anyway, I really appreciate the effort 👍😊
Thank you and I will attempt to do just that!
Nice area of the city well covered. Good work!
Thanks!
so amazing and best video, congrats Johnny
Thank you!
Such a beautiful tour 😊
Thank you!
1:53mins. I've been down that street. But never to the end of it. When I get back into riding my bike. Going to check it out. I just live over on Thorncliffe. You rode down ET Seton Park one day. And @8:54mins. That cannabis place was once Rogers video. It was part of the other Rogers on your right. One big place back in the day.My friend work there for a few years. The cannabis place is not that old. Was a all day breakfast place for a few years.9:25mins. Just before Joans Ave on the right. The place that's is boarded up. Was a Blockbuster back in the day. And we did talk about the Danforth really not changing that much. Your walk video.
I should get you to narrate some videos lol. Great info Tony. I forgot to point out the Tim's on Danforth that was practically a neighbourhood institution that closed last year and still sits vacant.
I was at that same concert .. The Super Friendz . I believe that was 96 or 97 . Too funny !!
ha wow... I don't remember much except going in and then waiting for my ride lol
@@JohnnyStrides I recall I was in fine form too , had to go see my Halifax homies.
Got way too excited when I saw your video in my UA-cam alerts 😂
:) that's awesome! There will be a lot more (and they'll be better!).
When did you live in Asia and for how long?
I was in Seoul from late 2008 to early 2014.
yes i prefer narrative please keep it going! thanks.
Thanks Perry! I've done several more narrated cycling videos since (and a new one to be posted tomorrow!).
Great ride on eh
I love CJ been following him over ten years 💖
He's the king of the streets, I'm just a hack in his shadows lol... but seriously I love his channel!
kindly Ihave question are you using osmo pocket so does you need to charge it with 4k after short time when you make acycling for an hour or walk thanks
For 4K60 the Osmo Action gets me about an hour and ten minutes, the Osmo Pocket gets me about an hour and 20 minutes and the GoPro Hero 7 Black gets me around 50 minutes. With the Pocket I can plug into an external battery pack if it's a really long walk, with the others I just carry spare batteries and change if needed.
Just for your info only. Greenwood racetrack was originally Woodbine Racetrack. Second when you were going westbound back into the Central city, you said the complex on the left was the water treatment plant. It is in fact the sewage or waste water facility. They are digging a very deep hole and have put in tunnel boring machines. They are headed north west to join the one being dug at Bayview Ave just north of the viaduct. Part of the flooding and storm water protection system
Great information and thanks for clarifying! I should probably do some homework before these narrated rides.
@@JohnnyStrides I lived in Toronto for over 60 years. If you need some help with anything I am available. I lived in Leslieville
Excellent, God bless you and expecting LIVE videos.
You're welcome! Perhaps one day I can get to that... I just need to find a good data plan lol
Love the Beaches would be nice to see Whitby just recommending
I'll see if I can get out that way this summer.
Great video again, maybe you can try a slow swaying or a body cam
Yeah, when I talk I find my head moving around too much. It didn't happen as much in earlier videos with the GoPro. I have a new mount figured out for the next few videos I'm going to try. Thanks!
Good bro
Thanks 1800 Sheppard Ave E, North York, ON M2J 5A7, Canada
@@JohnnyStrides Hi there
I am from Uzbekistan
can you help me find a job in Canada?
You could easily be a tour guide, you know a lot.
Thanks! I'm a bit lazy to put in the research/homework element though lol
Why dont you see people swimming?
"4.5 billion years of development!" Lol
It didn't come out right lol but yeah... that was my point.
@@JohnnyStrides I just thought it was funny.
Oops , I've been missing these narrated rides ! 😲 Come on, UA-cam, where are my notifications ? 😜
I don't get notifications for my own videos often... (I have another account I've subscribed with). :(
Ohh gosh i got dizzzzy on ur video
Yeah, that happens with this particular camera on this mount. I've changed it up since then so it should be better and will only use the GoPro up on the helmet from now on!
Sometimes I copy and paste wind noise over those music, or find similar music and play over it.
Yeah, I usually upload my videos about a day early (or if I suspect certain sections will be copyrighted I'll upload them at 720p right away so UA-cam can scan them) and then fix the audio. It's a PITA though and something I'd rather not deal with but I don't like someone else monetizing my own videos.
@@JohnnyStrides yeah I tried to argue background incidental music once and it was no use. Don't bother lol
I disagree with you on condo development. Condos are an eye sore in the sky line. I have been in Toronto since the 80s and let me tell you that Toronto's Lakeshore was stunning back then.
Oh, I'm not a fan of a lot of the newer condos. The generic & sterile street front retail they bring is often a downgrade and bland, glass box in the sky designs have been done to death in this city. I think the city should absolutely be pushing for designs that integrate well with the city. But to fight development in dense corridors that have transit connections is backwards thinking and is the type of thing that lends to more urban sprawl.
How are you friend ?
All is well and you?
Good
I have motion sickness tried to watch but couldn't ...
Sorry to hear. Is it all moving videos or just this one? I'll try to keep the sudden movements to a minimum and will try a chest mounted camera view soon which will be fixed.
@@JohnnyStrides just this video had extra motion ..thanks again
@@starshine9147 I think you'll find the next few rides to be much better... I'm going to try a different perspective that doesn't move around so much :)
