- Welcome to our brand new home! As you may remember in our last House Tour we talked about how we were going to build a brand new home... and here is the Empty House Tour. I would call it a Hamptons Style House - and yes - it's very white!

I also didn't want to film this as a voice over but at the time of filming we were moving in and the builders were doing the finishing touches on a few things so I couldn't walk and talk it through.

For those who have been asking - we built with a smaller local builder with an excellent reputation in the area.
The house plan is very similar to Metricon's "The Lincoln" however we tinkered with a few things like the closet, the bathroom and moving the kid's retreat around.

What a wonderful achievement for you both, huge congrats!!! Your taste in home design is very similar to mine, I too love white and love everything to look the same, I find it too busy when every room is different and it's also too hard to decorate I reckon. As a fellow Aussie who lives in brisbane but spends a load of time in Tassie where it's very cold, I fully understand your idea thoughts on having a drying room, that was a great idea and one you will never regret, especially if you decide to expand your lil family:) Look forward to seeing more of your beautiful dream home xoxo

Wow the layout is so different to houses here in England. If you have children does that mean their bedroom will be at the other end of the house to yours?? That would scare me!! It's so beautiful tho crystal!!! Xxx

Jessica Rowlands Australia is the land of urban sprawl. More people have detatched houses as opposed to apartments here. It's really common to keep the kids rooms away from the master. Generally if you have a baby they will sleep with you in a cot in the master for a few months before graduating to their own bedroom. Needless to say baby moniters are totally needed if you don't do this!

Jessica Rowlands I agree with you. I would never be able to sleep at night thinking kids are at the other end of house. Hahahah.. Here in Canada all bedrooms are on one floor and close to each other.
Hi Crystal, Loving watching your house building series. With your fully decorated house tour would you concider doing a video for each room/space that you've completed that way you'll get videos up sooner and the feedback will keep you motivated to finish the rest? You could do a step by step of decorating each room showing what you are putting in it and then showing you doing it on a time lapse or something? Keen the see the finished result. Your new home is stunning!! and I love your colour theme. xx

Very common with new homes in Australia these days.... parental privacy wins out I guess!... haha XD Not always the case with two or three storey homes though as they tend to have all different layouts... but since her house is a single storey, it's pretty standard nowadays with the new estates to keep the master bedroom separate or at the front of the house away from the kids bedrooms.

That drying rack would be my dream come true. The house is gorgeous. The only thing I would have added is a bidet. Australians laugh at them, but honestly they are the best things ever.
On another note: your makeup! Stunning. It looks so clean and paired back. I am so over winged liner. You look so healthy. Could you please do a tutorial on this look?!

I've been holding off on watching your building vlogs, my hubby and and I were supposed to start building at the same time as you and would of been receiving our keys in June.
