- I went out to watch the sunset from Queens Promenade in Blackpool, but it turned out a bit cloudy yet still looked epic. West is best!

Hi Stephen I've come back home from staying at the Sheraton I've had a cracking weekend there was a good sunset on Friday night
It looks like a really nice hotel Ellen.
Sunset was good. Camera was good. Video was good. I think the council should reopen that cabin lift. Well done.

I remember the boating pool very well. My parents used to take us there in the early 70's and I used to catch crabs with a line. We stayed there all afternoon.

I remember the boating pool. It was a real sun trap and a great destination for kids to go to. We got the tram from South Shore to go crabbing using a mussel tied on a string.

Hi Stephen, camera looks good and yes we'll be in Blackpool next week for our 4th visit this year! It all started in the 80's when we used to take the excursion train from Reading, starting at Saturday 8.30 am, getting to Blackpool North station around 2.30 pm. We would spend our time at the Pleasure Beach and arcades, then the train would leave about 11.00 pm and getting back to Reading, Sunday morning around 8.30 am.

Thanks Stephen. If I'm being totally honest I much prefer your other camera. Shame the beer monsters can't be trained to put their litter in the bin. Those lights above the tram tracks look nice lit up.

i got some good sunset shots the other week from my hotel room ,i stayed at the grand and had a good sea view ,i thought you had a wide angle lens ,looks a good camera
Bins near the shelters would help. I've picked dozens of cans up in a plastic bag and put them in a bin if you can find one that is 🙄 Great video thanks Stephen.

Loved the walk down to sea level Stevie, I wish you could get into the Cabin Lift, we need to ask around. Used to frequent the Cabin in the late 60s when Mr Booth was manager..I actually worked there too..full of smoke and cheap beer. Used to see many comedians in there including Wandering Walter….Stephen does remind me of Paul Whitehouse Yorkshire walking character..aren’t cameras fantastic you get flick and there a photo..aren’t trams fantastic……😂

Where you said about the vents on the prom,when they built the sewer works at Fleetwood they bored a hole from there to Anchorsholme then all the way to rigby road to the pumping station.

I love walking from the South Shore up to the North Shore & stop & talk to the fishermen. That Cabin Lift needs reopening to take people up * down from the upper walk to lower walk. It looks like the Sheridan is having a faclift 😂

Hi Stephen. Starr Gate to Cleveleys boundary I believe is 7.1 miles. Re the Boating Pool being a tad older than your good self I do remember it well of course it had the pool with rowing boats and motor boats on it and it had a little train that pulled barrel type carriages painted with green / red stripes on them when it turned the bends the carriages would swivel as the went round the bend there were other fairground type rides too but it was the train that stuck in my mind. Re the cabin the lift I don't really know why it has never been kept running and maintained I think if it was it would be used regularly by visiting holidaymakers. Love the videos especially the ones you take us on to places in Blackpool that we didn't know existed. Keep the videos coming. By the way your Sony camera is working a treat.

I believe Starr Gate-Bispham is seven miles, so going onto the boundary just before Cleveleys, would add a couple of miles to that, so I'd say from boundary to boundary is nine miles! Of course, as in most seaside towns, heading inland is a different story, it being only around three miles on average to the Borough Boundary.
The Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad, from North Station down Dickson Road, then the current tram route, opened in 1898, when the Cliffs were apparently quite barren, the trams helping to build up the area around that time. The Promenade trams reached Gynn Square in 1899.
This is my favourite part of Blackpool, having stayed since a boy in the Warbreck Drive area, so I know Knowle Avenue really well, from going with my Grandad to get his morning paper (and a comic for me!) from Knowle Avenue News! It would be nice if you could do a vlog around those back streets, Knowle Avenue Holmfield Road, Warbreck Drive etc.

Amazing the size of Blackpool and that it manages to run and maintain three piers....Hats off to Blackpool for that...sadly Southport can't run and maintain the country's second longest pier...Southport hang your heads in shame....

That Cabin Lift, I remember when you went down that to a boating pool and rented a small motorboat to ride around in. think you got 10 or 15 mins. That was loooong ago :D
