Tie two pieces of cane together to make a double reed? That is not factual. One piece of cane is soaked and then folded over in the middle before it’s shaped, then shaped, and then tied onto the staple, and then scraped until playable. It is not a double reed until the tip is clipped open. Now, sharpen your knife, but don’t cut me. :-)
What is an oboe? “The oboe ... is the ill-winded instrument that nobody blows good” You’d better measure that piece of gouged oboe cane. It looks way too thick! .
