    Jacob, it is also good practice to lubricate o-rings when you install them. In this case, it is best to use the PAG oil or Parker Silicone O-ring lube.

    Great video. Thank you. Tackling the AC is something I want to do on mine. I'm going to follow the same route and do as much myself as I can and then get a mobile ac specialist in to regass

    Check those connectors on the left side of the radiator, I had the same exact issue.. The AC on 900 is wroking based on ambient temperature and also on coolant temperature

    Interesting process, good detailed video. A/C aside (though much needed, esp. in AZ), this c900 is looking amazing. Great work, Jacob.👍

    Hey! I have an 86 c900 and was wondering if these parts will fit on the 86. I know the 86 had some wack stuff and I kinda figure it should work but was just wondering if you know. Also where did you get the o rings and etc looking to do the same overhaul on my system

    Would the smaller aftermarket hoses also decrease the overall volume of the system? Might have contributed to the blowout/overpressure.

      Good point…probably! 🤔

    Maybe you came across this problem:
    My ac on 900 worked well but after I left car in garage for 6months now the ac turns on, but the ac pipe gets cold and then warm again. Like it’s turning on and off. Haven’t checked the pressure in system yet. But if there wasn’t enough pressure, it wouldn’t turn on at all?…

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  3 місяці тому

      its possible it could be a switch or something that has gone bad

  • @browserrr1
    @browserrr1 5 місяців тому

    Is the pressure switch working properly and if yes, does the electric signal reach the clutch? The switch is a safety device protecting the pump from running without enough pressure in the system.

      Hmm. Maybe not? I will have to check that! Thank you

    Mine .. is still inop.. have to readdress it this year again -
    But .. questions -
    What did you do to convert it ?
    Did you think about keeping it R12?
    Didn’t see much of the receiver coming out ?
    I have these parts thanks for sharing it’s been job 1 for a long time -

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  5 місяців тому

      The biggest thing for the conversion, to my knowledge, is the o-rings, so I made so to replace all of those. R12 is a bit difficult to find so I figured I’d go with the new stuff

      @@AutoAutopsy hmm, I know IMM replaced the fittings on the compressor which may have had seals not sure. Glad yours is going , jealous ! I have the receiver and expansion valve your steps might trigger me to do this myself !

    Hello, I got an issue with my saab 9-3.. The radiator does not turn off even when the car is off.. Today I changed the temperature sensor, but did not do anything.
    Does anyone know what could make this occur? Im going to buy new relays as well, but not sure if that will fix it.

    • @tpwman801
      @tpwman801 5 місяців тому

      Do you mean the radiator fan? I literally just fixed the issue in my 07 9-3 this morning. ECU was going bad, car ran rough. ECU also controls the radiator fans so a broken ECU may cause the fans to run nonstop. In my case I had to disconnect the battery to turn off the fan. A new ECU fixed all these issues.

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  5 місяців тому

      I assume you mean fan? Does the car have codes?

      @@tpwman801 First I had to disconnect the battery, but the last few days I just remove the fuse after driving..
      I will try some other things before changing the ECU since it is sort of expensive.. But if nothing else works I'll just have to change this :) Thank you for replying!

    I just want to say I applaud you first having interest in SAAB in general, but also caring enough to keep them alive and taking us along for the ride. However, if I can give you a production suggestion. The fill/bumper music is not necessary. If anything it is a bit distracting. Just guessing, but I'll bet the average age of your audience is 54 1/2. The music of today unrelatable and frankly unpalatable. I know this makes me sound like a old fuddy duddy, but it takes me out of the video that I otherwise enjoy very much. Just a thought.

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for watching! If I remove music, I get people telling me to add it back, and when I add it, I get people telling me to remove it 😅 about 60% of my viewers are between 18-44 based on my analytics. Unfortunately not everyone can be pleased. IMHO, it’s hard to find decent copyright free music, and I don’t want to leave 30 seconds of silence in the middle of the video, as it’s a bit odd. If you have other suggestions, I’m open to them.
