Those Clendon streets and alley ways you walked through was the exact route I walked/biked to get to the shopping centre and back home on Finlayson. Mapelsden, Kennington, Barneys Farm, Palmers Rd, Mahia, Roscommon Rd, Sharland, John Walker Dr, Wordsworth, Burbank, Rowandale, Weymouth Rd and Russell Rd were the streets we used to roam in the 90s as kids and 00s as teens. I wish he took you to our old primary school, Roscommon/Manukau View on Burundi when back then we were still getting smacked up by the teachers lol. This place will always have a special place in my heart. REWA HARD 267 - CLENDON 454 - WEYSOUTH 455 The 90s & 00s Era

Yes, it was a trip down memory lane I'm 52 from Rewa, and Clendon shops had just been built, who would have thought? I moved to Oz as well, I certainly appreciate what I have now. Some great memories as a kid.
I grew up in the Leabank area , the houses were all pretty new , I was a foundation pupil at Lea bank primary , it was a brand new school when I was about 6 I also played junior league for the marlins in the 70s
Yep , same..wordsmith was the last street, then paddocks, lived in brand new house,Roscommon Primary was brand new school..left in the 80's. Got out early🙏
What an awesome doco brother, you captured the essence of it 100% Grew up around Browns rd, Martin rd, Maich Rd area, it wasn’t “hood” but we had the most hood house on the street. Lived in our grandparents house built in the 50s and we sold in 2011, sadly, wish we didn’t. 13 years we’ve been gone, living in the far north now, but Manurewa will always pull at my heart strings no matter what. ❤️

This was an 'eye opener' what I took from this vlog was the people's 'realness' there is so much talent in South Auckland yet it gets surpassed by the 'media attention for all the wrong reasons' type stereo, it's like the Government puts all the 'so called down n out/dropouts/poverty stricken families' where they can tear each other down by scapegoating them to the rest country as 'no hopes in life' ... what I saw from this vlog were proud/talented individuals who did their best with what they had & yet they still stand today to tell their story, we all come from humble beginnings but some more so than others I lived in Onehunga most of my life & I was proud of it yet now its bcome 'new ponsonby' & life has changed for alot of our poly/maori people ... Rewa stay proud from out of the ashes 'the phoenix' will rise so thank you 4 sharing your community your people your life, blessi gs to all❤❤
I grew up in clendon, went to finlayson primary and Weymouth intermediate early 90’s That skate park and rec centre wasn’t there Lived in Stella place 🤙🏾
Cool little insight to manurewa definitely an over looked suburb as many suburbs in south Auckland. So much greatness and potential within south Auckland over looked due to the reputation it holds but if you really dig deep a lot of gems to be found in these areas like tk there are many great athletes, musicians, artists and hard working people. Might be the hoods to some but it’s home for us REWA SOUTHAUCKLAND TO THE 🌏
I fasi'd couple peeps at that reserve, dont even remember it being a skatepark and in that community centre too lol somewhere in the 90's. Omg Mihnnn!! What up!! No 1 bakery in Rewa!! Cheers King Dave, awesome vlog bro👊
Still remember the original Clendon tavern back in the days growing up in the 90s shopping centre looks heaps different now but buzzy to see the tunnels still there under the big roundabout
I remember Min and the OG bakery around the other side of the shops. Before the WareWhare etc. Remember the opening of the town centre, the parot in the mall, the old Clendon tavern next to the paddock with the horses. The first police helecopter and being asked not to go outside when you hear it lol
Man I’m glad that Dave decided to start the VLOGS back again, these are the best, man I have heard that Gisbourne is pretty rough, and they got a ghetto or hood there too

..in Wellington they have broccoli..silverbeet and parsley in the main street for anyone ..in the middle of the road 😊 ..i used to work at that warehouse 98/99 Auckland was awesome !!
I'm from Wellington but had the opportunity to live and work in Manurewa ❤ I've since moved back to Wellington. I still miss the bakery at Glendon ❤❤❤ love your UA-cam channel alofa atu.....
I grew up on Hanford place and went to Roscommon primary. There used to be a tavern where the maccas is now. Friends and I used to scope the tavern car park Saturday and Sunday morning looking for cash 😂. Also my mates bike got stolen within 5 minutes from the united video where the tunnel used to be. Mum moved us to the Mount when I was about 10 which was probably a good thing as I would have got up to no good
Honestly seeing Tyrell last year when I come back to NZ for missions from Aus at church praising Jesus maaaan that was a prayer answered God is good honestly 🙌🏽 I grew up and lived on Wenlock
Been enjoying your hood diaries bro...good to see you back out n about. God bless you my brother and take care...swing by anytime you wanna catch up.🙏❤
Wow amazing bro thank you. I grew up in Watts Rd, but left to come to Australia 30x years ago. I still have a lot of family there, I remember a lot of bad things back in those days. Late 80’s early 90’s.
Oh the memories.... brought up on Wordsworth and behind it going up to Clendon Town Centre was all farm land that we used to play in. Was part the first group of kids that went to Roscommon Primary when it first opened in 1977. In 1970s early 80s hung out with Samoan and Tongan mates that lived on Wenlock Place.
Sole I remember back in the day i also went to roscommon primary went it opened up. Wordsworth road at the roscommon road end had some mean as families living at that end back in the day. I remember the Caffery, Tait, Teamo, Hill, Masson, Warbrick, Johnson, Rapana, familes and many more. Bopping and fighting in the street, and heaps of parties. I will never forget that one time I was at home wagging from school and all the police turned up down the road with guns at the hills or massons house, always wondered what happened that day. My parents up and off with us to the south and I have always wondered if those families still live there. What awesome memories.
This just means way more than Spanians vlogs, feels and sounds so surreal not taking anything away from Spanians hood videos either cause I enjoy them. Not only that, the fact its coming from OG Gangstahz and not some young bloke tells a whole world of difference. Bless all those Whanaus struggling.
I grew up in Clendon when the old shopping centre was their, when you had to walk through the mall and Mins bakery was on the side where the tunnels are
Could tell you a story about TK's house and why that family moved out. Happened just before Xmas.... I worked in Manurewa and I loved it. The community has such a whanau atmosphere to it. Yes, there is some black sheep in there. But, it is awesome.
Shout out to Tk. My first year of topside with REWA he was starting to retire but still jamming ressies. Solid to see the bro has gotten it together. Lived in Weymouth for 30 years and moved to Aussie after. Home will always be home . #MarlinCity #267 #Weysouf #REWAHARD
This video unlocks and brings back a trove of memories from the 1990's roaming around clendon as kids. I will always have a special connection to clendon and the memories of life in the 90s. The bakery when it was around the back of the mall down from the video store and getting free pies when we were hungry or buying 1 getting another for free. I still remember the rafters along the mall sitting up there with the glue sniffing kids tagging and getting high in the evening. And the gang skirmishes on weymouth with 100s of gangsters and us little kids standing around watching them fight.
i love this video bro seeing all the boys change there life for the good, ive actually hired an ex tribesmen who was in jail most of his 20s grew up in Otara and watching him change his life, was a hard case dude when i first met him but hes eased up a lot over the years working for me, also been shot a few times few battle scars on him.
Solid vlog brother! I grew up in Ngaruawahia but my Dad lived in Rewa so I would spend all the school holidays out there as a kid. Started getting into all my mischief out those ways. Older cousin had me banging bloods, tagging alleyways, stealing from the shops, smoking ciggys… all sorts of mischief, all by the age of 7 or 8 😂 If you’re ever in Hamilton, you have to stop by Ngaruawahia, Huntly, Melville and Fairfield to do one of these vlogs. They have to be the roughest hoods in the Hamilton area. If not in the whole Waikato region.
Dang i grew up in rewa in the 80s, lived in Nina Pl, i remember going to Clendon shops when it first opened, left nz in 89 for Australia, went to school with Freddy Base too, rewa intermediate, dang i haven't been back since i left.
good to see people trying to help the poor in the community helping the kids get haircuts, make feeds etc you meet the some of the most down to earth genuine people in the poorer neighbourhoods
Chur TK... always representing Rewa. NZ Under 18's league camp and all I remember is him saying "Rewa Hard, Rewa Hard"! Told us he was Maori/Fijian? I dunno but he was the toughest fulla to tackle to the ground, he just bounced off everything. Tough! Glad to see you doing good bro!
Solid brother Dave! ; sending love and balance to the lil cuzzy..TK..REWA..shot for the shoutout 34:35 give respect where respect is due..nothing but love la familia #AllRED
I like the comradeship in this video - and everyone saying Bro and saying it with Aroha and meaning- some horror affects many communities but one learns to rise above such tragedy - there's alot of laughter too which eases the tension- take care for your honesty and cool presentation- I live in OZ but I miss that deadly way of speaking and Maori pride of survival- thank U Aroha nui
Man,there are some wonderful people in the Manurewa community, I did live on Rowendale Avenue in the early 90s but it wasn't a bad area back then, the economy here in New Zealand is a huge factor in the crime scene in New Zealand at the moment
Hey bro. This was a cool insight into NZ hoods keep it up I hope the Lor blesses your podcast. Hey can you share your music or artist that playst throughout your video please 🙏
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Lol still remember a few of those houses and who stayed in them 🤣 😂 😅 but shot "Tk" haven't seen your face since the younger days Uso, You were always the Mantis on the field God Bless...good old Galuvao days❤❤❤

Shot brother Dave, love ur vlogs, Kia Kaha, stay humble, great to see you fulfilling your purpose in life, may the Lord continue to bless you
This just means way more than Spanians vlogs, feels and sounds so surreal not taking anything away from Spanians hood videos either cause I enjoy them. Not only that, the fact its coming from OG Gangstahz and not some young bloke tells a whole world of difference. Bless all those Whanaus struggling.
Becuse the real gangsters dont go on tv 😂😂
😂😂 you kiwis love the camera ay just remember the real ones don't jump on camera in Oz

I grew up in Clendon when the old shopping centre was their, when you had to walk through the mall and Mins bakery was on the side where the tunnels are
Rewa for life, went to JC, played for the Marlins, spacies up at Southmall, lived a lot of my life their moved away but will always be in my 💙.
#MarlinCity

The man dave and the kuzzy for this film so good to see alot of changes in rewa
This video unlocks and brings back a trove of memories from the 1990's roaming around clendon as kids. I will always have a special connection to clendon and the memories of life in the 90s. The bakery when it was around the back of the mall down from the video store and getting free pies when we were hungry or buying 1 getting another for free. I still remember the rafters along the mall sitting up there with the glue sniffing kids tagging and getting high in the evening. And the gang skirmishes on weymouth with 100s of gangsters and us little kids standing around watching them fight.
8:55 if you live in rewa you know the body he was talking about wasn’t even in that direction in was around Roscommon
Yo wasn't it down Moncrieff off Roscommon?
Yup it was down moncrieff
Who really cares

i love this video bro seeing all the boys change there life for the good, ive actually hired an ex tribesmen who was in jail most of his 20s grew up in Otara and watching him change his life, was a hard case dude when i first met him but hes eased up a lot over the years working for me, also been shot a few times few battle scars on him.
Thanku Tyrell karaka For bringing back dem memories of Rewa..talk soon og
Solid vlog brother!
I grew up in Ngaruawahia but my Dad lived in Rewa so I would spend all the school holidays out there as a kid. Started getting into all my mischief out those ways. Older cousin had me banging bloods, tagging alleyways, stealing from the shops, smoking ciggys… all sorts of mischief, all by the age of 7 or 8 😂
If you’re ever in Hamilton, you have to stop by Ngaruawahia, Huntly, Melville and Fairfield to do one of these vlogs. They have to be the roughest hoods in the Hamilton area. If not in the whole Waikato region.
Great work 🔥👌🏼
Aye what’s doing lad hope all has been well on your end been a minute
@@TFSpodcast_ been well my brother. Be good to have a chat for sure. Hope all is well
Dang i grew up in rewa in the 80s, lived in Nina Pl, i remember going to Clendon shops when it first opened, left nz in 89 for Australia, went to school with Freddy Base too, rewa intermediate, dang i haven't been back since i left.

Chur TK... always representing Rewa.

TY for the win always! Mans killing it!
Also hope TFS took his shoes off before he walked on the matts
I like the comradeship in this video - and everyone saying Bro and saying it with Aroha and meaning- some horror affects many communities but one learns to rise above such tragedy - there's alot of laughter too which eases the tension- take care for your honesty and cool presentation- I live in OZ but I miss that deadly way of speaking and Maori pride of survival- thank U Aroha nui
My family is the Samoan family that lived at the end of Wenlock Pl.
Moved on to Australia
Man brings back childhood memories
Man,there are some wonderful people in the Manurewa community, I did live on Rowendale Avenue in the early 90s but it wasn't a bad area back then, the economy here in New Zealand is a huge factor in the crime scene in New Zealand at the moment
