Og quad cards are all you need! A little jetting, raise he needle and ur done. I'm on cafe build number 3 and I have never not ran the stock carbs. Lean how a carb works and u won't have any problems

Go buy a injected bike. Carbs are a Labour of love, from my experience, don't put down a carb company due to your lack of knowledge about carbs, they need tinkering with weekly. I'm in Australia never heard of Murray carbs BTW.

Last month, got a Murrays Carbs kit with the solid mount manifolds for my 1975 CB550 with stock 4-4 pipes. The bike is now a hot rod. The transformation was startling and gratifying. I've probably put 500 miles on the set up and am really happy with it. The only issue is that about once per ride, the bike bogs and won't rev above 5K for about 1-3 minutes. It's like hitting a wall--- sluggish to no throttle response other than deceleration. Don't know if it's an issue with the cables or stuck slide. Last night the sluggish response lasted 15 minutes and I was concerned that the bike wouldn't have the power to climb the mountain roads to my house. Stopped to get groceries for about 5 minutes and the bike was back to being a hot rod. There is no good time to lose power on a motorcycle, and abrupt power loss can be downright dangerous. I think I'll lube the cables and see if that helps....

My brother did a big bore kit on his 1979 GS750 and added a Yoshimura pipe and Mikuni 29mm smoothbores. It was a very fast bike.

I had the same problem on a xs1100. I doubled the springs on top of the slides. Works fine now.

you are NOT alone. My murrays carb kit came far too rich, and i'm still trying to dial them in. plugs are more black then Westley Snipes

Got a set from Murray a month ago. Having the same particular issue with a 1980 cb 650. Gonna try to do the new boot route and use carb spray to diagnose a possible vacuum leak. If I'm being honest, Murray isn't the happiest guy when it came to communication on the phone. From all the forums and videos I've seen, some people either have the best or the worst experience from him. It's a crap shoot :/ Might just say screw it and give it to motorcycle wizard to take a crack at it.

There is always going to be a problem putting mikuni carbs on a Honda complete rejet and even slides ect.

  • @JohnFoxphotography

I would try removing cables from carbs, and run bike by operating the throttle by hand, if the revs are still high, then its not the cables, slides could be getting stuck.

Thanks for your review, I have a set of Murray carbs I got for free and want to put it into my CB750 but it seems like a headache. I’ll try my best to get it installed because it was free but I also heard to keep the stock carbs just because of the reliability.

Hello, I had same issue with murrayscarbs on 1982 cb750k, its not throttle cables but jetting.

Ive got a set of Mikuni vm32's i think on my cb400 and they run great after re jetting them. The 1 into 2 cable is a high quality cable to, haven't had any issues with it.

  • @steveminshew

I’m having the same issue with my Murray carbs too

  • @GorhamAirsoft

That’s too bad that didn’t work out for you, i have a set on my 81 CX500 and it is a truly fantastic upgrade

  • @DJ_Driven

You could try reaching out to Barnett cables. They can make custom cables for that carb setup. If you think that cable setup is difficult, try working on Kawasaki triples.

  • @mauricehill5782

Bro I'm sorry that things didn't work out for you, the mikuni rs would really look good on your bike

  • @nestorfuentescastillo6200

It's very tiring to try and try, I'm having the same problem and I was thinking of buying those carbs for my triumph but at this point I don't know.

  • @jamescase6465

I had the sticky throttle problem too and along with that when I got them the air screws were literally 3/4 of a turn off from each other and were absolutely not synced, I called him and he got angry with me saying that I must’ve somehow messed them up and just about refused to talk to me. Absolutely would not recommend

  • @daymonmarek946

Before you return try a different throttle cable. Also sounds like you're running lean keeping that idle high

  • @SteveDave.

Try the cognito moto air filter on the stock carburetor.
