Yesterday this man stay with his tent at my place, he seemed to looking for a place to camp. We had a nice and incredible conversation about his Travels, what a smart man ! Welcome forever in France Frank !
That dude is definitely old school. If your using a separate pair of shoes for hiking and are putting in that high of milage, you might as well get some clipless pedals and shoes.
33kg !?! I'm not a lightweight cycle tourist but my very sturdy and comfortable kit to cross a continent weighs less than 14kg without food and water max. What the heck is he carrying ? Why do the dutch and germans carry so much stuff, must be an absolute nightmare in the mountains, not to mention very wearing on parts and tyres. and food and water consumption.

THE KING
hes my new hero!
So sad I can't read his books - and Dutch seems so hard...:-)
@chumpychumpychump no... clips and clipless help you put more power into the pedal stroke with less energy, = better performance
In de ban van stempelstan, goed boek.
Ga vast en zeker je andere boeken ook lezen.
Why don't brooks interview Heinz Stucke who has always used Brooks saddles too.?
I second that! 👍
Good question! Greetings from Hövelhof, Germany. Home of Heinz Stücke.
Is this advertisement for Brooks? ....
What a man. Lot of miles, at 20km/h that's a lot of hours & days.
There are other places to discuss footwear.
Brooks saddles are the best... cuz there is no other saddle company who use an 140 year old method of building saddles...maybe Selle Royal!
