Viper ACR the best American sport car ever. It broke most US track lap times, also was Nurburgring fastest car record holder during its time. An Engeniering marvel that didn't need electronic nannies to keep him on the road at very fast speed. So sad that Dodge let the oustanding Viper go.

Definitely a Different driving Experience that other performance cars. Unfortunately, I can no longer get in and out of a Viper, because of permanent physical injuries that are still declining my mobility -- and increasing in pain levels -- so I can only s-l-o-w-l-y get in and out of my Brother's C8... And even getting in and out of my '04 Mustang is a chore. (and my rt elbow has destroyed my console armrest.) But I have driven several Vipers, in the past. They DO Demand true Driving SKILLS from the driver... at any level of 'performance driving'.

Great video but your viper info is a bit off... the front diffuser just like the rear can be removed since the GTS-R is the equivalent to the ACR-E which stands for extreme, not a normal ACR... the only difference between the ACR-E and GTS-R is the livery... and the difference between the ACR and the E is the bigger wing, front and rear diffusers mostly.. it is the most hardcore ACR

Beautiful car but the GTS-R is not the rarest Final edition Gen V ACR. That title goes to the 1:28 Edition ACR followed by the VOODOO ll ACR. All of them are amazing Track cars
The main way used to measure it is using a scaled down replica mounted to a a sensor/ sensors in a Wind Tunnel. Then calculate it for the full size car.That's what they also do with airplanes. Another way is to uses mathmatical Equation, using the Renold's of the Aerodynamic Elements and thier span, Velocity... Just how Horsepower Is just a Calculation, Based on Torque and Engine speed. I Don't know who uses the last way I know of. Using a Finished Production car with Ride Height Sensors in a Wind Tunnel, You can measure the Compression of the Spring to get the Downforce at a given speed.
ALL Downforce comes at the price ofof Top Speed. On 99% of tracks the ACR/ GTS-R wouldn't even get close to It's Mid 170's Top peed. Going Quickly throughthe Turns requires Downforce, Allowing for Quicker Lap times. If Top Speed is what aa Customer was Looking for, They Don't any of the Track Variants. Base Model and GTS are the Ones they would be looking at, Both Top out at 206 Mph.
650HP isn't impressive I always felt this viper was under power when you have SUVs with over 670 today. But we know why this the hp on this viper was kept down........

The Viper was great but overpriced. That's why they ended production. Dodge needs to look at what GM has done with the C8 Vette as far as performance/price ratio.
