Pairing a het x het gives you 25%/egg chance at visuals. the problem is the non-visuals will only be possible hets. Selling normals or possible hets is not easy even for established breeders. Granted using a Coral Glow Pinstripe het pied gives them 2 incomplete dominates for chances at something visual that they can sell. A better strategy would be to invest a bit more and get a visual recessive on at least one side of that equation. That way they would improve thier odds (50%/egg), and even a non-visual would be 100% het. Much easier sale or better holdback for their own future breedings. Lots of ways to approach this. Overall good advice and definately gets them a great 1st year start for about $2k.

So.. I'm in my 2 season breeding ball pythons. I would not start out with recessive ball pythons. Especially trying to use Hets. I made over 6k my first season and this year I will make more for sure. I have several females that were a bit small last season but will be ready this fall. I should have close to 15 to 20 clutches my 3 season
You should know you don't need all the other stuff I got a male pin pied $450 female het pied $140 grown craigslist and I'm using 20 to 40gal breeder Enclosures from pet co on sale $1 a gal or on craigslist for cheap to I use paper towels on bottom it easy to clean and sanitary and I use overhead lamps with heat bulbs black not red at Walmart $5.98 and lamps I use are the car engine type overhead lamps with those clamps on them they are like $7 at Walmart and like chris said when I'm close to eggs then I'll get my incubator.

I built a cheep homemade rack(home depot shelving unit) cost me about $350 then I built a decent homemade 28 qt they are in now for $750 14 tub. Also bought a vision rack to try it was $750 I think 16 short tubs ,Going to use for hatchlings hopefully.
If you have 3k there's a guy on morph market trying to sell his whole collection (15 snake's) mostly pied and other combos I just don't have the money 🤷♂️

Don't buy from Remarkaballs! That's where I got my black pastel butter leopard male with hets. Received snake in January, he came in with REALLY bad mites and thank goodness I kept him quarantined cuz I've already got a vet appointment cuz he might be sick with something else causing digestive issues. Pisses me off too cuz I bought him to breed him to multiple females, but if he has something incurable, I'm out several hundred bucks! BE CAREFUL, BUYERS!!! Morphmarket is just a great platform for sellers to move their snakes. It's reputation DOES NOT reflect individual sellers on the site, so buy with caution!
I'm in the long haul part raising hatchlings. Just feeding them and waiting . Very frustrating when they won't eat . My biggest female went off food for three months now she seems on but not my biggest anymore . She was about getting big enough ,1200-1300 grams ,now nothing. Long wait so buy what you like . Feeling the drain ! Just discouraging when you have problems and they arnt growing like you think they should .
Knowing my luck, I'd follow all this awesome.advice and get everything set up and as soon as my girls were gravid, I'd buy an incubator... only to have all my females slug out on me. lol. Hopefully not. Still have another year or 2 before I'll hopefully be joining the breeding game. I'm raising up my beautiful female bp and waiting to find the perfect male for her. But I have a trio of bullsnakes I'm also raising up to breed. Except my "female" I was hoping to breed next year ended up being a male, and my other female is a 2020 hatchling. So gunna be on the lookout for an adult female with the genetics I need. Otherwise I'll be waiting til 2023. But that's okay. I'm enjoying watching my babies grow.
Buying ars racks a level at a time really isn’t cost effective once you factor in shipping. For me two levels and a base would be 270 shipping. One level cost 112 to ship.

You left out shipping. To Washington shipping would be $372.33 for a 70-10 single level with wheel base. Without the wheel base shipping is $154.55 for just a single level. Don’t get me wrong, I’m team ARS as well. FreedomBreeder is way more expensive not to mention the ridiculous shipping costs and outrageous wait times.
@Tim I just earlier today called ARS, online the shipping was shocking, by phone Jason was able to set my shipping for UPS GROUND, not freight like the online does. Base and 4 levels for now, call them, much better pricing.
@@timfoil2319 I also upgraded to 8 in heat strips, hi end thermostat and the rolling base came in at about 9 with shipping thru UPS Ground. Shipping via freight was 3+. Hope that helps!!

Sir, ars charges an ass load for shipping. 400$ in shipping for me. Not the site to mention for a budget in any way.
There's also the very irritating fact that ARS only seems to ship to the US which doesn't help me out at all, do you know any alternatives?
