Met my girlfriend in 82 who became my wife. She passed away 33 years later. So reminds me of my Julie xxx. Rest In peace my angel xxxxx
casei em 11/1982 mas ela continua vivinha.
Sorry for your loss homie ✊🏾
This song will never get old as long as I’m alive.
I wish we'd appreciated them more at the time.
We took good music for granted.
2023
And I'm still searching for 80s soul
No, we didn't. We appreciated all the fabulous music back in the day!.
We were just living in the greatest decade but of course back then we just didn’t know it
I met them once at a nightclub venue in Manchester, they'd just performed "Going Back To My Roots" I got to meet them after the show and they we're the loveliest people. The two women looked just as gorgeous in the flesh as they do on here, especially the one in the red dress, she was absolutely captivating. All these years later I still have my signed photograph in it's little frame. Happy Times.
Was it Cruz 101? I met them there!!!
The late, great Lopez sisters. Lillian (blue) Louise (red.) RIP.
lucky you.i remember this.i was only 9 at the time
@@CTID No, It Was The Flamingo club in Blackpool. I believe its long gone nowadays.
GREAT story!!!
This was my jam as a kid.. I’m 50 now and still love it! Thanks for the memories and RIP to them all 🕊️🕊️🕊️
I love this song sooooooo much
I will play it over and over and over again❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
Me too it’s an absolute masterpiece
Same! I've been playing it in high rotation since I've heard it for the first (03/17/2024) on a road trip! Disco at its finest!! A great song to do the tango too or hand dance.
Me as well I love it ..
Odyssey - Inside Out... Me & My Mother Chilling On A Sunday, Singing, Playing Games, Cooking, On The Phone & Dancing Around The House, in The 80's Man. Good Times Yo! 😁
Her voice is Beautiful.
What else did you guys listen to ? I like reading things like this. Viewing from another POV
Released in 1982 and yet still sounded and looked late 70s. Beautiful 😊
I’m still listening to this great song in 2024 who is still listening to this song in 2024
Por um acaso, ouvi hoje no rádio do carro enquanto dirigia e lembrei que tive um disco que tinha esta música. Eu tinha 15 anos na época do lançamento da música.
On my pandora
I can’t imagine searching for any of today’s chart music in 40 years time. I wonder if bands back then realised they were writing classics. Pure class.
The song writer on this one is still alive and farming/teaching in the Scottish borders... (Look up the amazing man, Jesse Rae.)
One of the best and most unique sounding female vocalists of all time. This song and “If you’re looking for a way out” alone are better than a lot of group’s entire output.
I'm just fortunate to grow up in a time when REAL MUSIC was made.
Spriggs Family True words!! :-D
yes the best one today they don't even know whot is whot a nostalgia......
Spriggs Family a true that. Thanks to my mom who use to play these songs on her battery radio
So Right
Or blinkered
Always reminds me of ‘’watching you ‘’ by slave🎉love both songs and still listening to both🕺🏽
I miss these good ole days man.. This was the jam !!!!!!!!!
Eu também sinto muito falta das baladinha ❤
Definitely, those were the days...
Never stopped loving this 2024 still ❤
Now this was real music that you could enjoy without any nonsense
Just like the lead singer in " skyy", this lady had a truly unique voice; it's haunting and melodious at the same time. Truly a time when grown people made real music.
I was thinking the same thing!!both fabulous talent !!Tboz ..also😊😊
Real talent. Real music
I like them both, too.
For close to four decades, Lillian Lopez was the radiant focal point of Odyssey, her flawless vocal delivery allied to a sophisticated jazz-infused phrasing, honed to sweet perfection.
Her voice is fire
Tears comes when earing this song... When I was young during 80s 90s.... Brilliant song
Such a strong song ❤
Me too!
Lillian, your unmistakable voice! RIP...
Lillian and her sister were so beautiful , with voices to match. I was deverstated to learn they have both passed on. RIP you gorgeous girls .xx.
Steven the male died to, all three are gone now!
I just love how she delivers this song!
It’s giving forreal
I love the way she says inside out , oh darling
Her voice is gorgeous. The texture alone. Velvet
Mesmerising!
RIP to the Odyssey band members! They were such a fantastic group!
Guy still alive
@@darrendunn134 he was the second guy
@@darrendunn134All 3 original artists are gone today.
They’re all dead?! 😱
@@TheresaofTheWorldthe two ladies in this video are and the original guy in the group which the guy in this video wasn’t, if you go to their song native new yorker he sings on that.
Loved them then, love them more now.
Estou com 55 anos e esse som me lembra a minha pre adolescência com 12/13 anos ,me transmite muita nostalgia e paz
I love this song, everything about it is perfect. Lillian Lopez, what a great singer she was - such cool, sophisticated tone and phrasing. Wonderful. Rest in peace Lillian.
you can see her again!
Beautiful performance!! Continue RIP King & Queens of Odyssey!!❤❤❤
I feel Steve Arrington vibes! This song is so class! The pure definition of black beauty
I wanna say he wrote this. Same song different y
I came across this song a few weeks ago when I was listening to XM radio - channel 50. I wasn’t even alive when it was produced. I love it ❤❤❤
Thats how I got here, im like how did this song get by me
Her voice, and this song, are amazing.
Whoever thought of putting Jesse Rae's Inside Out with Slave's Watching You had a master stroke.Added to those beautiful voices and those strings.A recipe for a musical masterpiece. The very best out there.
This before my time but this song sounds so good. Makes my spirit happy. The early to mid 80s (1980-1986) captures me everytime. I wish I was there back when real music was made
I agree.... something about that time frame. Magical.
It has *never* been better (in terms of explosion of musical innovation in *so many* genres) than 1982! Even the '60s were dwarfed, and that was a whole decade!
late 70s early 80s were like a dream...
Yes cuz I remember it! I’m trying to figure out why/how this music is exactly the same as Watching You by Slave which was out about the same time. I am very thankful to have grown up on all this good music.
Man the 80 ;s in My Home 70’s This is all I Heard ! RIP ! I I Used To sneak and played it on the record player to make sure I didn’t scratch the album I missed those days. I’m not gonna come now girl you playing this song again all the days😊
This brings back plenty of memories from back in clubs and skating days.
Takes me back to endless happy days
This was my childhood but can't help how this sounds like SLAVE - Watching You 1980
I was fortunate to be able to experience songs like this at the time on the dance floor..What a happy, beautiful time it was...
I'm Brazilian I was 16 years old at this time, I'll never have music like this, good times
Love, love, loved this tune. Mark Adams(bassist for Slave) killed the bass on this track...RIP.
Infidel14? didn't see your comment, I was asking for the name of the bassist... thx
I didn't know that! Did Slave write this song too? That bass is killer.
I believe Steve Arrington(lead vocalist for Slave) produced this track. Arrington also played drums on this cut along with Adams, hence the distinctive Slave flavor.
I read from discogs that the bassist was Sandy Anderson from Unlimited Touch
@tiituk You're right, I stand corrected. Killer bass playing at any rate.
The lead singer voice is so beautiful and unique. I love this group and whenever I hear their songs I stop everything.
The 1980s might have gone forever, but we can always relive that time through YT/great tunes like this.
My s***, I love this song it so mystical, magical, and mysterious at the same time.
it's deep!
Evelyn Price yesssss
Evelyn Price me2
When music was actually written
I agree! Similar to earth wind and fire with the mysticism in the music.
It's kind of unique - woozy mystical downtempo disco. The lyrics hint at something strange - a celebration of an imagined, unrequited love. Jesse Rae was the songwriter and he _is_ rather unique.
Great Classic
Thanks For those great Memories 😊
This was the jam and still is.......inside out😉
Why does it move me so much to see young people swaying and grooving and getting all excited to see a great group like this perform? It is just touching: pure youth, for the world now is so much more complex and burdensome for the young. So glad I experienced such a sweet era bursting with beautiful music.
Steven Kerry Yes!! :-D
Steven Kerry b
It moves you because you have a true soul.Also great ears help too;
Well said
OMG this song & Slave "watching you" sounds So much alike cos of the groovy ass samples & thos Undefeated instruments🎸🎹🥁🎶😍🎶OMG it makes me Soooo Damn Happy ijs I LOVVVVVVVE soul dope azz music like This here, F'real!!!💯❤️❤️🖤❤️❤️🖤🤟🏽🤩
That’s because Slave sampled this song. This is the original
Yes ik, I'm aware!
The voices are priceless.
I LOVED this song so much!!! I wore out the grooves on my 45. The lead singer has such a distinct voice.
80s decade was an adventure...the LAST great decade...its all over now....
True
Have to agree with DA BIG D, 80s and 90s were the last decades for good music. Ive heard one or two good songs since then but not like back in the day.
Agreed MultiMrMiles....
Sorry have to disagree. It is our duty (and pleasure) to introduce this music to a younger generation. Have had success with a niece, who has played the music of the 80s to her friends, they are now fans. Music this good will always live on.
Somewhat revealing about your own life there Mr Miles
The best song in the world!!😊❤
I loved this song so much, I was 14yrs old enjoying being a child with no cares in the world. I looked forward to Thursday evening's when top of the pops was on the tv. I looked forward to Saturday's when I got my pocket money and went to Woolworths and bought my 7" vinyl single. Great times we where all very lucky being teenagers in the 1980's. I really love native newyorker Lillian has the most beautiful voice.😊
DE VOLTA AOS BONS TEMPOS!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Classic Cut by Odyssey...RIP Beautiful Ladies ❤
That Bass line ❤❤❤
"Inside Out" é o tipo de música que fica para a eternidade de tão maravilhosa. Viva Odyssey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Você escolheu as palavras certas para definir essa obra prima.
Man.... songs like this brings back memories of the good ole' days. Odyssey was one of those groups that hit the disco era in the 70's and had that great nostalgia song "Native New Yorker". Then they came back in 82' with the Steve Arrington sound from the group Slave....Inside out, miss those smooth cuts. A treasure to listen to.....always.
Beautiful, original song. Brings back childhood memories.
Came across a clip of this in another post and just had to take a trip down memory lane. I loved the Lopez sisters and Odyssey.
Listen closely to the bass lines, rhythm tracks/arrangements and notice that they are the exact same found in Slave's, "Watching You"(Stone Jam LP) Not a complaint, that was one of the baddest albums of that era and, IMO, of the century. I like what's been done with them here with Odyssey, as well. Beautiful women, btw.
slimdudeDJC yes! The guy from Slave produced this song!
Ears didn't fail me, it seems!! :D
You know, watching this if they made a movie about this group, I can see Kerry Washington playing the lead singer. From different angles she resembles her a little.
Now that you mentioned it, she does! Just a bit thicker but just as pretty!!!
Also, Rosario Sawson looks a bit like her, but slimmer, of course.
I tear up every time. I hear this song. The words are powerful especially in today’s times.❤
Facts bro, it brings back such good times. My mother loved this song as well.
This song brings back so so many childhood memories
Watching you. 1976.
A classic line " like a genie i will slip in your ❤️
Just when you think at the very start she’s looking at the wrong camera, she goes and looks right into it as if to say “I know exactly what I’m doing sucker”
Going through my old albums..yes I still have albums...I found this Prelude album.....Omg memories!...
and Native New Yorker...thank you Odyssey!!!
Her voice was unique and beautiful 👄👄💋💋
Great song. Her Jheri curl is perfect 👍🏾
Such a great classic record, with such a DEEP message in the lyrics. She wants be inside out!
yes Steve Arrington was all over this track........listen to Slaves track "Oh baby wait For Me" you here the Arrington sound. the two songs sound so similar........like if you agree.
Nobody today can pick it like Steve.
Of course!!! steve Killed it. To this day no one can do it like that!
I love both
It’s Slave “watching you” track
Steve played drums on this, cause Jimmy Douglas produced both tracks
I remember Odyssey SO fondly; they’d go some time and you’d hear nothing of them, and then all of a sudden out of the blue they’d have a massive huge top five hit! ‘Classy’ group - that both sounded and looked good!
Strangely addictive song....the two Lopez sisters were beautiful and very talented. RIP to both of them.
YES,all three now!
Working all week, look forward to the weekend, disco on a Friday night, pure classics playing like this, timeless, pure,,,
Absolutely loved this song when it was released in the UK
Sandy Anderson passed away from the effects of the Corona virus. We were in a band together during my HS days. He then formed the band Unlimited Touch. A funky, disco band that had a couple hits on the R&B charts in the early 80's. He was also involved in the controversy of who played bass on the Odyssey hit, Inside Out. Many thought it was Mark Adams from the funk band, Slave. It was Sandy as confirmed to me by himself, the producer and keyboardist on the track.
Interesting history
Written by Jesse Rae, though Odyssey’s version turned it inside out, as it was originally written from the guy’s point of view.
Yeah, thematically its quite a strange song.
Last time I saw you Marcus this song was playing. We were 17 in 1982😁
Love Lillian’s voice!
The tone is so good
Absolutely classy stuff ,blessed to have experienced this talent in my lifetime ❤️
Bom dia uma das melhores músicas internacionais
Interesting 🤔, song. Great story telling, cool arrangement of instrument 🎸🎷. Inside outttt !!!

All three are gone now!

Aww Awesome 💋Real Music ❤️Good Old Times 😎❤️😎❤️😎❤️Heaven 🥰
Bass man's an animal, 👍👍👍👍
Sandy Anderson from Unlimited Touch Playing with Slave's Mark Adams' thumpin' bass Style
Wow loose studios, I'll be honest, not familiar with him (but very impressed is an understatement), so just decided to Google him up only to find out he has just been taken by 'The Covid 19 pandemic'.... 😢
Sad start to the morning,,, will be very much checking this very talented musician out and saying a little prayer for him, thanks for the information and stay safe, ❤️ 👍
@@tuxster123 Tony Reynolds is the male singer died on February 2, 2010 in Jamaica, Queens, New York.
Brings me back to my childhood in Chicago 🥰
Truly magical. Gives me a feeling of melancholy. I really do adore this song. Reached No 3 in the UK. Are you seriously telling me there were two better records out that week ?
Great presentation and a fantastic song about L O V E.
I love this song i still rembembet because beautiful summer 1982
Sandy Anderson from (Unlimited Touch) and (Rob and Tha Soul Brother) on BASS. Steve Arrington on drums with the same guy that produced SLAVE'S 'Watching You'. Sandy was one of the early casualty of the Covid 'plague'...before vaccines and known remedies. I only know this because I was just getting to acquaint myself with Sandy before he passed, close to his Birthday. I know that there are many great Bass players but Mark Adams and Sandy Anderson...their style touch the soul♡♨♡
Love love this tune ❤
Sadly all the original group have died. They were the best group.❤
Oh no, that's unfortunate.
1982 great year for music
This is great! Another video of Lillian Lopez. Nice clarity. A real benefit to someone that appreciates her beauty.
All 3 of them r dead so sad! RIP ❤❤❤
LINDO FLASHBACK.
Still listening to on my drive playlist. 40 years ago I first heard this song.❤🎉
The bass player truly channelling his inner "Mark Adams." If you know, you know.
I was in the 4th grade when this was out, brings back memories 😊
That voice! 😎
Still watching March 9, 2021!

I deeply sadden as I watch this video and found out that the beautiful voice of the beautiful lead singer has been taken from us.my prayers to her family and fans. She's loved and missed dearly.
Clifton Hall please say this is not true are all 3 originals dead in 2018
@@Blu-Man Yes, these three you see in this video are all dead. RIP
@@danfrost3043 no they not already got the facts
@@Blu-Man Which one of the guy's is dead then? I remember three, the one who was on Native Newyorker with the afro, this guy who was on the other major hits, and the third one with the long hair on the later lesser hits. I once met these three when "Going Back To My Roots" was a hit and they couldn't have been lovelier people, they were all very friendly. Got their signatures on a promo pic which I still have framed to this day :-)
Clifton I totally agree.
Lovely person too
