Saga...one of the most under appreciated Prog bands in the history of Neo-Progressive music. Every musician could switch instruments mid-song and not miss a beat. Michael Sadler's voice still sounds fantastic almost 40 years later. Pull up their show at the 1985 Rock am Ring Festival in Germany. Incredible.
Exactly, at 4:45 you can see Michael start playing the Taurus pedals for a few seconds (for the bass part) to give Jim enough time to pick up the bass guitar and start playing that instead of the Moog he had been playing.
I've been listening to these guys a lot lately. They really deserve the same status as Triumph or even Rush. You have to give Canada credit for producing talented bands.
Old long time fan of Saga as well as Rush. Saga is awesome, so is Triumph, but not even close to the realm of RUSH dude, sorrynotsorry. But hey, it's been 15 years, how ya doing?
Ian Crichton is one of the most talented underrated guitar players in rockin roll. Attack, timing, creativity and genius. His solos have something to say...
There are lots of songs, lots of bands. But Saga is one that is guaranteed to take you off into another world every time you listen to one of their songs
I remember living in Puerto Rico 1985 and could not go see them live because i was grounded and my mother took my tickets and went herself, to this day my mom and me are a big Saga fan.
I saw these guys in a bar in Woodstock ,Ontario , Canada six months before this was recorded . I was 16 years old and under a court order not to drink ! They were great from what I remember after 40 years ? Boy did I get in shit when I finally made it home !
1987 ? I saw them in Gothenburg whit my son who was about 16 at the time, and it was a fantastic concert. I love SAGA and my son got a new experience of music!!!!
Awesome song after all these years and also today . Still love saga working out to this classsic lyrics. Don't be late. When he says look how they suffer short of breath don't be late. By the way as an asthma suffer the running or jogging helps built up my 🫁 lungs. This song to me is very up lifting to me. Keeps you exercising , and going. Excellent Canadian band saga, and also Rush another classic band.
You are so right! Finally an American who can actually admit that we, here have fabulous music! Saga was my favourite band back then, I still looove their music. Their music is perfection. I had the chance to see them live at the Forum, in the early 90's or late 80's, I can not recall! To be quiet honest, it is the best show I ever saw in my life.
All of my favorite Canadian bands from the 80's were always amazing live. Saga and Triumph are 2 that put on some of the best live (sounding) shows I ever heard.
Michael Sadler does not have a mustache. What you see here is just the incredibly pure awesomeness of his voice crystallizing on his upper lip. It would surely kill all of us if we were allowed to hear it directly.
For me to hear this when I want its so great, I remembered when I used to hear this song in the 80s I was a child and I only could hear it on the radio. I didnt know the name of the song but it was on my mind and always trying to catch it on the radio to record it but never happened lol And now 30 years later I just type it name and get ready for a good evening :-)
I saw this band six times in Germany, and loved them each and every time....I am so saddened that Michael Sadler has decided to leave...come on...Saga rocks...it will never get better.
They will always be one of the best bands ever!! There sound remains amazing. I' saw them three times here in Puerto Rico. They were awesome!! Thank you for the memories
i think that´s the lost Sound of the 80´s - I like it and there´s nothing new that´s just a bit of it like this Sound...- I´m very proud ´cause I ´ve been to a Concert in Bremen in the 80´s.
One of the many great songs from SAGA, a must know prog Rock band with a pop edge, great keyboards parts and an excellent guitarist, as a very special singer, best from Canada
I always wondered what happened to this amazing group. Saw them in Venezuela twice many years ago and the rocked the house both times!!! Thank you for sharing
Saw them perform the entire 1st album in 1978 as Pockets at the Boarding Housein Niagara Falls Canada. Everyone knew then they were special & going places.
Silent Knight is still my favourite album to listen yo while I,m running! It gives you a lot of energy. Great musicality, nice chord progressions and rhythm changes.
Wow,I remember Saga in like 81' and now I'm getting into em again!2019! Kool band ,kinda progressive. thanks for sharing hope you are well God loves you deeply Shalom 🎸 🔊🏞️🏔️⛰️🎇🎊🎉🎆✨🐕🎈
Hi Florent2222 - I haven't forgotten Rush - never ever - they are part of the Canadian experience & culture since the 70's. I just find that there are many Canadian artists that don't get quite the level of recognition (especially financial) for such incredible talent - Saga is one of these precious Canadian gems.
Sandler So Stark Alkoholabhängig dann 2017 in Mannheim Gesehen. Rasiert und Brachial wie Neugeboren . Was Mich Immer Faszinierte die Keyboards und Synthesizer in einer Brillianz des Spiels und der Gitarrist , und das treibende Schlagzeug.
I was probably somewhere here in the crowd on this video, I followed this band around Germany, they were the best, and loved their music.....times were so good then.....whatever happened??????

Are you Danish
Those were the days ✨
I'm eternally grateful to have lived in the 80s.
I was very young when I heard this song. I was spell bound! It was like an alien race came from out of space to play for us.
Yes, I agree. Heard it on the USS Midway in 82, from a kañook/Am. I WAS 17tn, overseas, ĥe was CSAR..Swimmer/CC. And this is what I became.
Well you know Canada is way up there !!
I've been listening to these guys a lot lately. They really deserve the same status as Triumph or even Rush. You have to give Canada credit for producing talented bands.
Of course, Rush & Birth Control
Old long time fan of Saga as well as Rush. Saga is awesome, so is Triumph, but not even close to the realm of RUSH dude, sorrynotsorry. But hey, it's been 15 years, how ya doing?
I agree
Or even Rush?
No disrespeckt to Saga, but thats kinda push it.
They deserve more recognition. I would say that rush is legend. But saga and kim mitchell for me are little good secrets. Greetings from portugal!
thank god i was born 45 years ago...
i´m sory for the kids now.
saga was one of the best progressive/hard rock bands ever.
My best friend died a month ago and this is what we heard on his funeral. Will never get out of my head..........this absolute incredible composition.
Ian Crichton is one of the most talented underrated guitar players in rockin roll. Attack, timing, creativity and genius. His solos have something to say...
Saga were one of the most competent bands of the 1980's. I love their music.
There are lots of songs, lots of bands. But Saga is one that is guaranteed to take you off into another world every time you listen to one of their songs

Un artiste qui utilise tout les instruments de musique. Un vrai talent. Ils manquent a la France. ❤
Great Canadian band. Saw them in the early 80's a couple of time in San Juan Puerto Rico. They are awesome!
Yo los vi en San Juan hace muchos años
Saw them too, at Bellas Artes.
I saw them in Calgary with Procol Harum. What an excellent concert too bad my wife came down with chickenpox. LOL
1987 ? I saw them in Gothenburg whit my son who was about 16 at the time, and it was a fantastic concert. I love SAGA and my son got a new experience of music!!!!

Outstanding and absolutely unforgettable performance of a handcrafted masterpiece from real musicians - SAGA forever 🤟🔥🤟🔥🤟
I never forgot the first time I heard it. I was firebranded somewhere deep and it left an impression that is still with me to this day.
Michael Sadler has been taking care of some health issues lately. Staying strong. Amazing rock band that has visited Puerto Rico on many occasions.
Long live the 80's, long live SAGA! 🎸
Saga one of greatest bands ever !!!
Fantastique groupe, ma jeunesse et certainement ma vieillesse.
I saw them in 1980 in Puerto Rico, too good for the time.... sound, lights ahead of time
You are so right! Finally an American who can actually admit that we, here have fabulous music!

Good music, give us back those 70s, monumental Rock-classics........!
For me, one of the most great band in this world, and the one I prefer.
⁰000
I went back in time and I don't want to return back to the present. Love the guitars the drummer, the vocals, nothing like him and his mustache... lol
I saw this band in NORWAY in the 80's!! Still in love!! ;-) "never to late"?....
REMEMBER
Canada is not only about Celine Dion and Justin Bieber, it is also about Saga, Rush, Triumph, Voivod, Bachman Turner Overdrive...
came across this when listening to Gentle Giant, very impressive band no nothing about them will give them more of a look
It's the guitarist that makes this band. The hard edge of organic sound driving and accenting at the same time. Fantastic!
Great, tight band! And my God….Michael Sadler’s voice is astounding here! Wow!
One of the most underrated bands to come out of Canada, first saw them in 79 still a big fan.
Saga is one of the best Canadian exports we've had. They are fantastic. Thank you for sharing this video with everyone!
tuve la gran dicha de que las veces que se presento este excelente grupo Canadiense estuve alli aqui en Caracas Venezuela
