I absolutely love this video. So calming....so relaxing. I could listen to this for hours..much like the many 11 or 12 hour ocean, cricket, bird, frogs and other long videos. Thanks for this post.
@wbgirldc We must be conquerors of ourselves. Attaining liberation, free from attachment, hatred and igonrance. This is far better than conquering everest summit... my opinion.
@andibonnington interesting comment. Does buddhism not place emphasis on challenging our own OPINONS and perception of reality? It is still applicable to engage in life and have goals such as climbing everest. One should alway have an acute awareness of spiritual egotism. @wbgirlc I wish you success in summiting everest!!
Apparently one of the monks could enter the minds of animals. And he died whilst "controlling" the dog, so his soul was apparently transferred into the dog. It's a weird legend but that's what they keep saying.
jose michan it can ot be done by lyics. it's sound vibrations n tones. it's truely very amazeing. if you have a chance. put your ear to the ground and listen to the sound from a earthquiet. n concentrate on it. you can hear the sacred mantram. word hum. The Kali worshippers were defending the Khyber Pass when English led forces attacked and overwhelmed the fortress. "Gunga Din is an examplle of the hollwood version.
If Tibet had been a land of fantastic supernatural powers since olden times, how was Mao's Red Army able to invade it? One would think that he would not be able to even approach within a hundred metres of Tibet's border without something terrible happening to him,if the great supernatural powers were true.Or did the deities allow Mao to annex Tibet for some reasons only known to them but not to humans?Or were the supernatural stuff of Tibetan Buddhism simply untrue, just exaggerations passed on from generation to generation? Please enlighten me,many thanks.......
YAMING XIE very good question asked my friend but the thing is the Tibetans believe that this was a result of collective Karma of past and Mao was just a vehicle to unleash that fury. Also, some lamas have given an explanation that History always teaches and gives some lesson, the lesson is that any community should move on with passage of time and match the technological Progress and should stop living in past, that is why Tibetan Lamas these days always encourage monks' study of latest scientific concepts
singh jasbeer that's a great answer, and because of Mao's invasion and the Lamas who went to other countries, now that the world is comming to a natural death tibetan buddism, bon and vajrayana are spreading into the globe
Thanks Andar, though I am not a Buddhist but a Sikh, but I believe that tibetans have spread their spiritual message in a very effective way to the entire World, their conduct overall of patience and tolerance speaks a lot, I always use them as an example to my own community members some of whom always keep on crying, brooding over past.

The holy teachers wouldn't exploit what they learned to harm another human being. That would simply bring bad karma. The monks preach non-violence.
