    Hey I just wanted to say thank you for coming out. It was god sent. I did just lose my sister a few days ago and by helping me here you made it easier for me to help with funeral cost. This was a huge help. I help a lot in the community when I can with no questions asked or anything in return. I had first expected to pay him but when he said he would do it at no cost I was a little taken back. I’m not really use to people donating their time to me so this was a huge blessing. Thank you guys so much, I don’t know how to thank you but someone in life this gesture will not go unseen. God bless you guys. Thank you for having fun with the pup as well.

      I know these mowers will do the job. I've got a 61" Bad Boy Outlaw XP and have mowed places where the ground is worse than this. The thing is even a small tractor and brush cutter will do this more efficient. I just got through mowing with my Kubota 3901 and my Rhino TM 84. If I got into grass and weeds like that I'd change to the 6" Bush Hot brush cutter.

    The treads sure drive over that brush debris smoothly compared to a floatation tire! Brush mowers typically have a tall brush impact bar about a foot above and forward of the cutting deck to start bending over tougher brush before hitting the cutting deck. It might be a simple pipe could be connected between the extended castors to accomplish that on this mower. That would elp protect the mower deck and allow the impact to taken by a structure designed to take the impact and bend the brush over. I wound't want to over stress the caster extensions so that aspect would have to studied in some detail. There not intended for it, but that tread traction zero turn mower sure looks like it could plow some snow with a

    in the videos, i have seen i am much more impressed with the brush deck that the finishing deck. In taller grass with the finishing deck, I've seen the altoz machine bog down and miss stuff the Exmark ultracut and scag decks would not miss. the Exmark and Scag machines don't bog down like that one does. I've seen them in person..but these are the first time I've seen them in action at all..:) FYI I've used the Exmark Ultracut decks for 15 years and the scag for 5 while I was in the landscaping business.

      @@hescominsoon Interesting! The Altoz is 66 inch with 37 horse. You would think the extra power would make up for the extra size. It has to be something better engineered on how power is delivered to the deck, or just the design of the deck in general. I wonder if it could be blade related? I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the performance of the finish deck, but it still gets the job done, and the performance of the all-terrain deck makes up for what the finish deck lacks in my opinion.

      @@grassandgears I am thinking it's a design problem...either not enough discharge ability or an airflow issue causing the grass to not eject efficiently. just curious... When you are moving the grass field 14:45, Could you go faster?? Isn't the top speed on your Altoz 11mph? Will the mower keep up with a quality cut if you did? I assume you are going slower to either save gas or to prevent accidently running over something that could damage the mower.

    • @grassandgears
      @grassandgears  2 роки тому +1

      That was some weird grass and was harder on the all-terrain deck than the big brush. It was very stringy and even though it was dry it clumped up when it was cut. Most stuff the Altoz doesn't have a problem with, but I did have to slow down a bit in this grass. Might have actually done better in this particular patch with the finish cut deck.

    • @grassandgears
      @grassandgears  2 роки тому

      Hi Gary. Thank you for watching and for your comment. I get this a lot. The Altoz TRX with the all-terrain deck is specifically made for this type of work. This isn't your ordinary zero turn. Everything is made extremely heavy duty, much like a tractor. It weighs in at over 1600lbs. The deck has flail type blades just like a brush hog, it has a 37hp engine that provides more than adequate power. I started brush hogging with an old Ford 8n when I was about 8 years old. I've worked with or owned multiple tractors throughout my life. The Altoz is a whole new animal that provides power and cutting capability similar to a tractor with a brush hog, but is able to maneuver through much tighter spaces, has a smoother ride, and is capable of a cleaner cut. It doesn't create ruts like a tractor, and it's much more stable. It can mow at up to 11mph. It's much easier to load and unload. Personally, I prefer it to a tractor and brush hog for this type of work 🙂
