    Great points on graded coins. It is easier buying graded coins because you can verify it's authentic like you pointed out...just look up the coin number on NGC or PCGS!

    If you’re stacking for security. Much is SHTF savings. The gold or silver, as is, would be important. Youd need a collector or coin dealer. When food, water and medicine are in short supply, are you going to pay for grading?

    Great video. I deal in sport cards and the grading has the same problems. For anything new or modern.. Unless it gets graded a perfect 10, you lose money. Anything modern with a grade of 8 or 9 doesn't sell for much premium over a raw card.

    Thanks for the insight on the pros and cons of grading, especially with the wide price difference between a perfect 70 and almost perfect 69 grade

    Great video. Grading is vital for authenticating commonly faked coins such as trade dollars, determining if your coins have cleaned, and nuances in the difference between an au58 and ms60 where value may increase substantially. Grading is worthless on modern bullion determining 69 and 70 even though there are suckers that will pay big premiums for a 70

      With a little study you can be pretty certain if the veracity of a bullion coin, gold or silver.

    There is one exception that I make for buying ms 69/70 coins. That the price. With the first being what the coin is worth raw , figure an ms65 as the general grade for a raw coin vs what the coin will be priced at the ms 69/70 graded coin.
    I do a little research and often find that overall the grade coin at ms 70 only costs around $5-$10 more but if you check the value for older coins with that range you will find that the difference between the two in the same range is significant. So I just buy the coins already graded at ms70. I know that a lot of people are saying not to buy the modern coins graded because they are considered bullion coins and so they will all eventually just sell them at the ms65 +/- grade. I guess that’s why I’m considered a wasteful stacker instead of the new coin collector with a higher value for the new coins at the high grade and the higher price that I can sell them for when it comes down to collector vs stacker.

    As someone new to the hobby, graded coins provide peace of mind for ancient &/or older coins. I usually crack them out as soon as i get them. I think slabbing modern bullion coins is silly though

    Other than a few non-graded collectible coins my dad left me, I stack low-premium gold and silver. No interest at all in graded coins.

    I've been collecting coins since 2013 both copper nickel clad sets and silver I would much rather have graded coins in my collection silver wise but some are really high being on a fixed income really limits my options so I also get silver rounds and silver one ounce bar's I like variety in my collection not just coins or just one kind of coin in general

      Yes !
      Great coin ! Of course - you want
      “ both “ !
      The Type 1 AND the Type 2 .
      The type 1 heraldic Eagle thru June minting ; the type 2 is the new Eagle in flight .
      I’d suggest going to the next level and get the proofs that are in US Mint cardboard boxed velvet cased with emblems and certificates of authenticity .

    In my opinion as a protection of ones hard earned money with hard assets buying ONLY a PCGS 70 grade coin, if possible, historically will give the best wealth protection available in the world. Considering PCGS has the strictest grading standards bar none.

    • @kconnor4568
      @kconnor4568 13 днів тому

      Yeah, that was true until 2 +/- years ago. Then CAC started a grading process and suddenly we have a new one that is grading on a very different level. They are still using the original grading process but the coins are graded on a much stricter standard. Coins that grade an ms 70 in PGCS /NGC may only grade in CAC as a details 69+/- but it will not give them a full grade . I’m sorry but just because they may have a different standard but is it worth a possible lower grade or maybe even not be graded but with ms # with details. This could be a detrimental effect on the coins and if they continue with this type of grading they will lose customers instead of gaining them.
      I, personally, will not,ever, send any of my coins to them only to have them taken down in scale and destroyed in value.

    Basically never get a billion coin graded when there are hundreds upon thousands of them. Libertads are worth grading. Because they have very small mintage s. For example my 1/2oz gold BU lib cost me $1100, graded MS70 you can add over $300 on that for a profit of $250++

  • @Kcconnor
    @Kcconnor Рік тому

    ANACS is becoming a force to be reckoned with. Although they are technically the oldest coin grading company, but due to some problems that they suffered early on, they are now beginning to come up to the 2 nd or 3rd level for grading coins and coins graded by ANACS will be recognized as a premier grading company.
    The difference between a MS69 and a MS70 can actually vary by thousands of dollars and maybe more if it’s a rare coin, graded perfectly and it’s not seen on the market except for maybe 1 in a year or more. So yeah there can be a substantial difference between 69 and 70.

    Touching valuable coins no matter the metal type without gloves is a very bad habit. That’s the number 1 no-no for coin dealers and collectors. Doing so not only devalues the coins and lowers the grade of coins but also damages the coins. What’s the point sending them off to get graded? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Just sayin… 🤷‍♀️
