Rachel is one in a million Americans who can adapt to the culture, food, and authentic Malaysian cuisine, including durian. Not many Americans can do that.
The homes look so beautiful! The owners have fantastic taste. It is not only beautiful but it is functional and super cozy as well. Nice to see you all enjoying durians!
its typical Malays houses those days. that's what we called village or kampung. we live together in same area with all relatives. Its just like long house or rumah panjang in borneo. family or relatives in same place
Warung Ochek is the best, yall! The food is great, the ambience is excellent, and the scenery is amazing! Couldn’t ask for a better experience than that ❤
"Warung" translates better to "food stall", fer sure, but I'm here to call out your pronunciation of Menate 😂 It's Muh-nut-tay, which is actually "Binatang" (animal) in the Kelantanese dialect hehehehehe
Warung means Stall My gf family are on Nyc,texas and sfo so we been there few times to visit, we're based in Kuching Sarawak so if ever got the chance do visit us and we will host You Guys
Btw, Logesh... give Rachel a chance to appreciate her roots too. American food in all its original glory we didnt get to experience here, ....have Rachel share that with us too.
Warong doesn't translate to 'pondok', that is a hut.. there's no direct translation to English as warong is a small restaurant, family-owned and mostly set in the countryside.. usually it's close by or right next to or in front of the owners own house so that its convenient for them to conduct their business by their home..
I'm half Malay, and I only really discovered traditional Malay food and it's so underrated. I wish more non-Malays will give Malay food other than Nasi Lemak a try. There's so many gems on the East Coast and down South which we've barely scratched the surface and I hope you guys can do a road trip to promote these food in your next trip home. Hope to see you guys back soon
Haha....but anyway terima kasih atas pandangan jujur kpd Rachel dan Kumaar. Western food of course American is better..❤😂.. teringin nk rasa American steak ❤
😮1:41. 'Warung'is not 'hut'. Hut is 'pondok', 'dangau' or 'gobok', generally referring to a living place albeit a very simple ramshackle little living house. 'Warung' is a 'stall', referring to a small simple business premise that sells food.
Bro you are Malaysian but you eat like tourist. You should eat durian in Klang. Musang King in Klang is a lot cheaper than in SS2. Go to the durian truck in front of Hin Hua school. They have the most reasonable price for Musang King.
The food in this video looks like if you're a Malay guy and your father-in-law (also a Malay) wants to eat something that reminds him of home while visiting you in Kuala Lumpur (your hometown)...
1:45:::Warung=food shop that is 'open-air', yes, open hut-style; But 'hut' translates to 'pondok'; a 'pondok' can be either open-air or walled. Most accurately, 'warung' translates to 'food stall'
Welcome back to Malaysia. Thank you for your recommendation on Warung Ochek. Will try. And you were in SS2 Durianman. This is one of the most popular place for Duiran and it is durian season. Enjoy as much as you can before you go back to the US
BIG QUESTION! I know you guys slept trained both kids (CIO?), and even made a follow up saying you wish you could’ve change things or even possibly not do it. But i would love to know how that’s affected your kids as of today, as I know just from reading the comments on that first video how people claimed it would ruin the relationship and attatchments- some saying just horrible horrible stuff about traumas and damaging. I know Logesh talked about how he saw pros and cons but i sense he just meant during the process and not the long term outcome. I am very very curious if you see any long term cons that has shaped how you see sleep training in current day and if you feel whether it gave the kids the “life long damage and trauma” as others have promised. Thank you so much if you reply!
Beloved Bro Kumaar & Family... I still cannot imagine how you guys are going to get over "Malaysia-Lag" when you return Stateside after this recent vacation in MAS 😅 🤭 Nevertheless, as always kudos to your great recording and itemisation of life's precious & memorable moments for us all to cherish eternally 🏆... Keep it coming 🥰 🤲
When Rachel said Logesh speaking Malay is cute, I feel so seen haha. I'm a Malaysian who can speak Malay well but as an English teacher at an educational institution that primarily uses English, it's slowly getting more awkward for me to speak Malay. So it's funny that as a pure Malaysian I start to have the foreigner's ears that find informal spoken Malay language adorable and I relate with Rachel so much.
Americans are the burger experts 😂. My fav smash burger food truck went viral once they got a group of Americans to try and give their stamp of approval!
Rachel is one in a million Americans who can adapt to the culture, food, and authentic Malaysian cuisine, including durian. Not many Americans can do that.
I know one more. Jessica Chastain. She went on Jimmy Kimmel with a durian.
let me see. there are about 300 million Americans. say half are ladies. so about 149 ladies for me to know then?
Lots american can adapt no big deal kak
Haha
Hubby Malaysian yg ajar dia mkn Malaysian foods
I'm surprised that Rachel loves durian too. Most westerners can't even stand the smell!😂😂
She is certified Malaysian, darah je American 😁
The homes look so beautiful! The owners have fantastic taste. It is not only beautiful but it is functional and super cozy as well. Nice to see you all enjoying durians!
Actually, i cud be wrong but i believe warung means stall...and hut is cabin
Yup. You are correct
exactly...
Hut is pondok !!!!!
@@JTChi ya!!! Pondok sound right
exactly!!
Kacang pool is fava beans. The recipe originated from the middle east actually but over time modified to local taste.
Malaysian food is the best!
its typical Malays houses those days. that's what we called village or kampung. we live together in same area with all relatives. Its just like long house or rumah panjang in borneo. family or relatives in same place
Durian is heaven, but price is hell
True
RM88/kg is price for the elites.
Durian is a scam. Buying it like buying a lottery ticket
Wait for China ban again our durian import.
Hai .Mr. Kumaar. Your American wife seem to be more malaysian . She can speak our malaysian bahasa.
That ending sigh from Rachel really put a smile on my face......I can imagine her silent frustration at not getting in the last word. 😂😂
Oh but that duriannnn though! Had us all watering at the mouth! 😆
Kannn!! Ngencessss!!🤤🤤
Warung Ochek is the best, yall! The food is great, the ambience is excellent, and the scenery is amazing! Couldn’t ask for a better experience than that ❤

"Nothing beat Black thorn"
"Musang King does" 😂😂😂😂
The way I screamed "STAAALLL" when she asked what's warong in EN is probably unnecessary 😅
Me too,as she explained the meaning of warung is hut. My instinct is to shout STALL...
Shack
damn the house is like living in a dream! I love it~
Rachel: Nothing beats blackthorn
Kumaar: Musang king does 😂
I’ve never laughed harder at 5am before this
Me: NOTHING BEATS BLACKTHOORNN!!!!!! except for whatever durian that is turned into durian pandan porridge with palm sugar 😁 haha.

"Warung" translates better to "food stall", fer sure, but I'm here to call out your pronunciation of Menate 😂 It's Muh-nut-tay, which is actually "Binatang" (animal) in the Kelantanese dialect hehehehehe

3:36 Nasi Goreng Kicap was a staple for recess at my school, very nostalgic. So simple yet so flavourful!

When people think nasi lemak is legend, here it comes the real legend 'nasi goreng kicap'! 👍

"Warung" is "tuck shop" in English.. It is usually located in rural areas or villages. It can be a small convenient stores or eating places..
Haha....but anyway terima kasih atas pandangan jujur kpd Rachel dan Kumaar. Western food of course American is better..❤😂.. teringin nk rasa American steak ❤
Boleh cuba kahwin dengan lelaki Amerika...

For the steak you can ask for sauce on the side.

15:50 They closed (This branch in TTDI) on Aug 11 😢. Banner says they moved elsewhere and to check their SocMed for updates.
You should eat the Musang King durian first and then finish off with the Black Thorn. It's like wine tasting, save the best wine for the last.
Owner lives among families
The land must be theirs
Family pusaka
Houses are nice
