- Failte and Welcome to Eire Rider my name is Ben,
Today will see us Solo ride to this well known Irish Waterfall of Glencar. This is one of the best things to do in Leitrim and I would say this is a signature of this County. Visited by many people. Situated about 20 mins away from Sligo. I would have to say this has to be a MUST to visit if you are in the area and even to make the trek to the place for a day.
The location has a beautiful landscaped area which incorporates benches, lawns, pathways. So you can take your time and enjoy the scenery.
There is a lovely cafe just next to the site with a play area for the kids should you wish to stop and eat.
The waterfall itself was inspiration for WB Yeats poem "The stolen child" which includes this phrase:
"Where the wandering water gushes from the hills above Glencar, in pools among the rushes that scarce could bath a star"
Glencar waterfall is a spectacular place and it is about a 5 min walk from the entrance. You won't be disappointed. Its better than the photos.
You can find Glencar with this google map plus code 8JRJ+3H
Thanks for watching and see you all on the next video.
Cheers

I would appreciate any feedback you may have. Please comment below. Thank you
Glencar waterfall is a lovely spot, the devils chimney is spectacular in strong southerly wind after heavy rain when the water blows back up over the top of the waterfall. It's a lovely ride through Leitrim, from Carrick On Shannon through Leitrim Village, Drumshanbo, Drumkeeran, Manorhamilton, Glenade, Kinlough, and on to Bundoran.
First time I've seen the Waterfall. Magic place. Really impressed and anybody going won't be disappointed. Thanks for watching. Thats pretty much the way I went although I didn't got through Manorhamilton. At least the weather was good.
Brilliant video, giving me great ideas for my motorbike travels
