I think Sekiro and Elden Ring were being developed simultaneously and that might've been the reason we didn't get a Sekiro DLC simply because they didn't have the resourses to allocate for making a DLC cause they had to work on Elden Ring.
@@Tomp4ul I think they'd follow up on the dragons return ending and maybe find some information about Tomoe nd Takeru from someone in the west that they met. Maybe meet their spirits Have Wolf fight some gods just for the hell of it There's a lot of potential
FromSoft used to produce a series of ninja stealth action games called the Tenchu series. The last title was way back on the Xbox 360. At one point FromSoft announced that they were going to be reviving two of their old IPs. One is Armored Core which is still on the way. The other was Tenchu. Sekiro was supposed to be a successor to Tenchu which is why we have a lot of jumping, stealth, wall climbing, wall-hanging and ninja tools. These were all parts of the Tenchu series. However the more they worked on it the more Dark Souls' style design creeped in until Sekiro became something of a blending of Tenchu and Bloodborne. It grew its own identity.
Your analysis of why sekiro is soulsborne is pretty spot on. The themes are generally the same. Would definitely watch the rest of the vaati sama lore videos
22:20 The Dragon of the Divine Realm came from Korea; he attacks you with a very recognizable REAL-WORLD relic. It's called the Seven-Branched Sword, and it was given as a gift 1,500 years ago from a chieftan of Baekje to the tribe of Yamato.
Yes, please react to the rest! I love Sekiro's lore so much, it was the first time I saw Vaati's videos, a couple of years ago. You'll love the rest, it's amazing
I would love if you reacted to the other lore videos Vaati made. I feel like some storylines and events that you easily miss while playing the game are the best FROMSOFT has written.
I agree that it's such a challenging game that you miss out on the story, it was during my second playthrough that I finally took in the story properly
Definitely here for more Sekiro lore! Also, agree it's still massively soulsborne. The gameplay might've changed up a bit, and some people will always insist that if the combat isn't DS/BB clone that it isn't a soulsborne game, but it still has all the core gameplay elements that make it soulsborne, just with more of a focus on reactions & skill in moment-to-moment gameplay, rather than builds & gearing in the more traditional RPG souls style, and that's before even mentioning the way From writes and tells stories - Sekiro has a tonne of juice in that regard! It's up there with Bloodborne imo.
While there's no plan for a DLC there IS a rumor about an animated series for Sekiro, similar to the Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I think it could work perfectly to add to the main story without taking out development time of FromSoft.
Well, now that you have completed the game, may I recommend Max0r's sekiro video? Backwards controls, mods, *EXTREME SUFFERING* . Not an incorrect summary or review, but I still find it pretty funny! Just an idea though
Emma, I’m not sure if you will ever even see this but I came across your videos through the bloodborne chalice you did with Symbalily and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. I never write comments like this but you’ve been an immense light in my life and you inspire me daily 🧡 (Orange heart for Fanta, obviously)
Yeah I'd totally watch more Sekiro lore reactions! Based on some of your reactions to this video there seems to be at least one cool lore twist that you don't know about yet and it'll be great to see your reaction when you find out. I'm not too optimistic though because someone's probably just going to say it in this comments section...
From loves their effeminate princes but with Kuro (and seemingly Miquella, too) they said let's go further and get a female voice actor to really mix up the gender
i wouldnt say what you described makes Sekiro a soulsborne game. It makes it a From Software game. I always thought soulsborne games are all down to the mechanics involved more than the story telling. I can be wrong of course.
Oh and there was no real DLC for Sekiro. It was pretty much the only FromSoft game without story DLC. There was updates including a boss rush. But no story DLC
@@gabrielcristian8038 true. Demons souls as well however I don't blame him there as Miyazaki was brought in to kind of save the project as i understand it. And when the original Demons was made, DLC for sure wasn't as popular as it now a days for big story related stuff.
Thematically, yeah Sekiro is very close to a Souls game. But for all we know, the next armored core will be too xD When people say "it's not a souls game" they're mostly talking gameplay-wise because for the themes and story I agree with you, it's very close (although the way the story is presented is a bit different).
Sekiro isn’t considered a Soulsborne game because the combat, movement/exploration, weapon system, leveling and storytelling are all vastly different than the other games. Now they of course have some similar themes and mechanics but when you line them up Sekiro is the only CLEAR outlier. Also the creator did say it wasn’t a soulsborne.
Now that you've played Sekiro, I think it's the good moment to watch the amazingly funny cartoon parody "SEKIROT "Might Die A Lot"" by Matthew Shezmen His parody are amazing in themself but even more when you played the game, because most of the joke are sooooo relatable xD
Honestly, I can't say Sekiro really was that much hard for you... The start of your journey was flawless and you kept the high quality of your skills up until the fight with Genichiro at least. It was from then on that you started running around more and paying less atention to enemy patterns and placements. The time you spent without playing the game dulled your senses and made you forget a lot of the background characters too, and that was all. With how much stealth this game has to offer it's actually pretty easy to find your angle if you scout the area before letting yourself be seen
i dont think you were underpowered..its just that the game demands more skill and efficiency from the player. they'd assume that players progress their own skill to a level that somewhat matches the challenge of these later soldiers. its kind of a skill check and you cant really bruteforce it by overlevelling like you could in elden ring and other souls games.
When Vaati said he expected Tomoe to get her own DLC hits harder since we all know there's no DLC for Sekiro.
I feel like if they ever do Sekiro 2, she'll be part of it, if it's a continuation of the same narrative anyway.
I think Sekiro and Elden Ring were being developed simultaneously and that might've been the reason we didn't get a Sekiro DLC simply because they didn't have the resourses to allocate for making a DLC cause they had to work on Elden Ring.
I've heard some stuff about Melania being based on what Tomoe was supposed to be but I'm not sure how true that is
It would be cool tho
@@Tomp4ul I think they'd follow up on the dragons return ending and maybe find some information about Tomoe nd Takeru from someone in the west that they met.

There really aren't enough Sekiro lore reactions out there. Thank you for giving this to us.

I enjoyed the video Emma this was fun to watch
I have a feeling Emma doesn't know the identity of Tengu
Claims its a chill out Sunday, but was actually filmed on a Monday, and released on a Tuesday.
This is great and I'd definitely watch more Vaati reaction videos!
you have to make a video of all the unfinished things you miseed in sekiro like a certain sculpture boss fight!
Agreed with you point of how sad it is that Kuro had no childhood. also i hope you watch more sekiro lore

What a shame Sekiro never got DLC, it's my favorite Fromsoft game and I would have loved more of it.

yeah more sekiro lore videos

"It's not a SoulsBorne Game because I'm not good at it" Is how you can translate statements from Sekiro critics.
Honestly, I can't say Sekiro really was that much hard for you... The start of your journey was flawless and you kept the high quality of your skills up until the fight with Genichiro at least. sadly i think Vaati was talking about DLC because it is what he thought at the time but never happened. Its an old video right?
I’m interested! Sekiro lore is the best. I was hoping you’d check these out.
