Love all your videos, always interesting and informative. My friend had a brand new MG 1958 sports car.Payed around $2800...those were the days..I bought a 58 Austin Healey sports care in 1960 for $1300....42 mpg.Went across the country (USA) twice with it lol!.....

Thanks Lucas….. my friend had a Triumph Spitfire in the 70s, that we ran around in in Daytona. I don’t know about the quality and service availability of the MG or the Colorado here in Thailand with Chevy pulling out . I have a 2015 Colorado , Deisel 2.6, four door and have had no issues. Like as much room as I can get… 6’ 1”.. and you probably know this, that everything moves forward when carrying heavy loads in the back of a pick up. So, with a good set of tie downs, it’s not a problem running with the tailgate down. Of course, another option is to buy a trailer. They really come in handy on trips allowing more cargo options and much easier to load/unload the bike. Just some thoughts. Thanks
Great videos keep them coming. Not overly impressed with the diesel truck but it is definitely different. I think the resorts are pretty sweet. I must agree with you river and and ocean probably looks impressive drop a fishing line with the little boat. Also the most impressive is Vee's mask is it Marley? Real cool may need to get one.

Right on! Yeah, the other funny thing here is that Isuzu trucks are about the most expensive in the market. I remember in the 80's they sold Isuzu trucks in the US and they were the cheapest of the cheap back then. Now they only sell medium duty larger trucks in the US I believe but with small Diesel engines.
Another cheap pickup truck to look at is Tata. When I was looking at second hand pickup's a while back in Thailand I seen one or two Tata trucks. A simple Indian design. At first I thought it was a Hilux. Lol. I've heard their trucks are not bad. 389,000 - 499,000 THB or $11,675 - $14,950 new 👍

I would recommend buying a used Hilux before a MG product since they are owned by China nowdays, we dont really know how many miles their engines can run, while a Hilux is indestructable
Yeah, Toyota seems less expensive than Isuzu. Back in the day, Isuzu was available in the US and their truck was the absolute lowest when compared to all the other brands. Here it seems the most expensive.

I still maintain George Lucas was the man who invented darkness--it's hard to imagine worse electrics. :-) That said, I loved that car, and later compounded my pain by buying a Triumph Spitfire. If you like the truck, it's up to you, but remember, the only relationship the new ones have to the old ones is that chrome MG badge.
Personally, I would not buy one, even though the outsides look good, and the chrome name badge does have some appeal to good memories. I know Toyotas are a bit more expensive, and Toyota does not do 'cutting edge'. Toyota's specialty is 'last forever with minimal routine maintenance'. I bought one of those four door HiLux "Isaan Specials" just before I left Pattaya and moved to Isaan. I've ordered and am waiting for a Corolla hybrid. MG pick-up: leather or mock leather? This is only a two door and is a manual, and has a relatively small engine as, of course, you mention. That's why it's so cheap. But you want a bigger load space for your bikes, so I get your point.

I have an Isuzu Dmax in Australia Lou and it's great, Personally I wouldn't touch an MG. This once desirable brand of vehicle is now Chinese owned and despite being built in Thailand (like my Isuzu) there still an unknown quantity. But like everything, they will appeal to a certain segment of the market and seam to be well appointed for the price!

My GF has a 2010 Chevy Aveo CNG/Gas hybrid 1.6L. And boy does it save money. There's just enough stations every 100km and cost 160 baht or so to refill, that last us about 5 days of typical around town driving and one RT 40km trip a week. We only use the gas to start it, or if we run out of the CNG. I would like to buy an early model car or truck like it. But if it's not OEM, I'm not sure how it can be insured,. I would prefer a CNG SUV than another Chevy, but I'm still open to another Chevy.
Just wondering how flexible the Thai car dealerships are with the prices? Don't remember too many vloggers negotiating a better price for new cars and motorcycles.
MG trucks are rebranded Chevrolet truck, with chinese quality. Please be aware they have problems and weak after service. Parts take long to arrive. I live in Chiang Mai and looked at them, and bought finally a 4-door Toyota Hilux Rocco. Better quality, after service and much more worth when reselling. Isuzu really the same, high service, good reselling price. But not the 4 door ones from Isuzu. Secondhand these are not popular.
Yes,I was surprised to see a MG pick up here on Samui the other day. The smaller MG’s I see more and more. I heard they are made in China and assembled in Rayong. May be not so? Finally some blessed rain here.
The charm of the old MG name (Morris Garages) is long gone. In years past I had MG Midget soft top and MGB GT hard top. My Dad even had on MGA soft top some 60 years ago.. Now owned by Chinese Company. I try hard not buy Chinese.
Well done mate , I can’t believe people are still buying goods from them after what they have done to the world . Just shows in today’s world there’s No morals principles of scruples left
Just a point - just under 300k MGBs were shipped to North America. But I was just looking online last night at the MG line in Thailand - thanks for reviewing the pu. Cheers.
Talk about warranty on these vehicles. To me just getting a 3 year 60, 000 mile warranty doesn't cut it any more. The electronic in new car means the average tech can no longer service these vehicles and the dealership are the anyone's. That have the ability to work on them. Expensive when a car is out of warranty.
Avoid the MG ,,, you will find that spare parts are like other Chinese products almost impossible to get after a year . Get say a Mazda BT 50 or HIlux they hold their value .

Lucas just seen a 2020 MG Extender Pick-up on Kaidee Met Grey not a year old yet 468,000 it's at a BKK trader.
Very nice😀
Thanks 😊
I have an Isuzu Dmax in Australia Lou and it's great, Personally I wouldn't touch an MG. This once desirable brand of vehicle is now Chinese owned and despite being built in Thailand (like my Isuzu) there still an unknown quantity. But like everything, they will appeal to a certain segment of the market and seam to be well appointed for the price!
Lucas, Happy early Birthday😁
Not for another 2 weeks, but thank You 👍
When buying a MG you are buying nostalgia and nothing else.
I would say the price on the truck is appropriate given that it is built in Thailand.
Mgs are a Chinese owned brand now and are usually not known for reliability but just as a cheap option
MG Chinese very reliable, more reliable than BL MG's.
Nice resorts ,but i'd worry with all that vegetation around the accommodation ,at night the mosquitoes would have a field day 🤦♂️
Lmfao, the amount of times you chuckle and say "I don't know", hahahaha, Is that a legal disclaimer? I went back and ran through a few more of you vlogs and yes it's a thing... love it! 👍
Haha, I don't know anything 🤣
Was thinking of getting an older MG Guliette
Cant afford a new one here ..they are double the price what you pay there
Wow, yeah, that's quite a markup.
@@Rides4Kickz 100% import tax!
Single cab, extra cab, dual cab, easy
MG is here in the Netherlands GOOD and sevice top
Nice 👍👍
The Chinese brought out the MG car company. That looks like a good deal but would I buy Chinese!!!
SAIC bought MG in 2005 because they wanted to acquire the Rover Powertrain K-series engine
Yeah, I see some of those CNG stations on my travels 👍
Just wondering how flexible the Thai car dealerships are with the prices? Don't remember too many vloggers negotiating a better price for new cars and motorcycles.
No they're not, discounts are set by manufacturers...the dealer just give you free stuff, like tinted windows etc.
MG going big into EV's especially in countries that will be getting rid of ICE cars in the near future.
Björn Nyland did some nice videos on the electric MG.
He bought it for his parents in Thailand. About one year ago.
That is a SUPER deal on the pick up!
What are the taxes and insurance??
probably only about 100 USD per year.
@@Rides4Kickz first years insurance free,then about 10-12 insurance...3k tax 2 door.
klong is canal ,manmade ,river is 'menam'
Yeah, pretty sure this is some sort of man made overflow canal but made up to look like a river for the resort area.
MG brand is popular in Thailand cos it's cheap. Can't beat Ford Ranger wildtrak
I am subscribed, why did they stop sending me your videos?
You could buy the truck and carry the cute little yellow car in the bed:)
MG use to be British. Ford Maverick is coming out base $20,000
Used to have a blue Maverick 1974 🤣
MG trucks are rebranded Chevrolet truck, with chinese quality. Please be aware they have problems and weak after service. Parts take long to arrive. I live in Chiang Mai and looked at them, and bought finally a 4-door Toyota Hilux Rocco. Better quality, after service and much more worth when reselling. Isuzu really the same, high service, good reselling price. But not the 4 door ones from Isuzu. Secondhand these are not popular.
What are the PRICES for CONDOS now that the Thailand Economy has TANKED! NOW that would be a GREAT SERIES! Another CONDO TOUR
About the same, but there are more deals or "firesales" as they are commonly called.
Lucas, are MG's made in England or are they the MG's that are made in China?
They are made right here, but the company apparently is Chinese
@@Rides4Kickz I wondered because the MG's I checked out in China, were Chinese made. I ended up buying a Suzuki Swift.
Yes,I was surprised to see a MG pick up here on Samui the other day. The smaller MG’s I see more and more. I heard they are made in China and assembled in Rayong. May be not so? Finally some blessed rain here.
Nice Fredrik, glad you got some rain 👍
The charm of the old MG name (Morris Garages) is long gone. In years past I had MG Midget soft top and MGB GT hard top. My Dad even had on MGA soft top some 60 years ago.. Now owned by Chinese Company. I try hard not buy Chinese.
Yeah, I can see that, totally different company now days.
Well done mate , I can’t believe people are still buying goods from them after what they have done to the world . Just shows in today’s world there’s No morals principles of scruples left
An MG truck with a stick shift and diesel? You're nuts.
Just a point - just under 300k MGBs were shipped to North America. But I was just looking online last night at the MG line in Thailand - thanks for reviewing the pu. Cheers.
Nice Jeff, 👍
As a Chinese motor vehicle you may question their reliability, but like all Chinese cars they have improved over time. Very good value for money.
Nice lookin Trucks for the $
Yeah, couldn't find anything wrong with it.
👍
Hello Mick 👍
You need it or do you want it. With me it's always I want it according to my wife :)
Yeah, that's about right
$19,000US would buy you a 10+ older plain Jane sketchy truck here in the US.
The link with the original MG brand is extremely deluted. Current MG is a Chinese brand that bought the name.
Avoid the MG ,,, you will find that spare parts are like other Chinese products almost impossible to get after a year . Get say a Mazda BT 50 or HIlux they hold their value .
MG rules...cheers
MG..has amazing resale..Like used toilet paper..🥾🥾🥾🥾
The oil Rich States with there own beleavs should take care of them and sort there problems out .
Those MG are popular among Thai people because they are cheap since there's no exuberant 300% import tax on them lol.
It looks like a triton
