A few years ago I warned you that fly fishing is more addictive than crack cocaine...but ya went and did it any way! I live up the road in the Greenville area and have fished that area a few times. Stripers are like tarpon, peacock bass, and smallies...they are life changing species of fish. Love your videos bro! BTW, the background of my avatar is about 25 miles upstream on the "other" river.
Found your channel while scrolling & awesome, the river looks awesome & your enthusiasm is contagious,1 remediation is check out a sink tip line or a Skagit Head for your 7 weight,I have 1 & with multiple tips can easily adapt to changing water conditions, tight lines 🤙🇺🇸
Absolutely stoked to see a fellow fly fishing channel here in Columbia SC! Absolutely killed it on the lower saluda this year for trout (landed my first 22" brown about three miles up from where your standing now but haven't caught a stripper yet!
Live the vid man, could yall make some fly fishing how to stuff cause Im new to fly fishing. I have no idea on streamers and fly line sizes and all that. Any help is appreciated. Keep at it boys!
Nice videos, good to see you fishing river areas I am familiar with! I got hooked on the pull from the stripes a while back, while I still love smallies the stripes are just built different. There are a lot of really good size stripers in the confluence and the zoo areas, I have caught a few in the 30-35” range the last couple of years but still chasing a 40”
@@SlabDynasty I stayed on the edges of the trophy run but a few guys waded across. I’m female so I stayed in some edge pockets but yes the river was raging that year. If I remember correctly it was the year of the big floods

You were right! I’m fully addicted, and happy about it. Striper are a blast on the fly.

That’s awesome man! Glad you’re enjoying the vids. I’m hoping to find myself a 30”+ soon
*Nice action* dude. I just got a fly rod and have a friend that's going to teach me how to cast. Can't wait to broaden my angling abilities.
Thanks man and good luck!
@@SlabDynasty ‘Preciate it dude
Way to go man !!!!!!!! I fish below that water this morning no bite… awesome place-- striper fever
Thanks brotha! I haven’t been out there in a while since the river has been a bit higher than I’d like. This week should be prime 🔥
Awesome bro! Catchin some quality fish on the fly!!!
Yessir! Just wait till we get a float going 👀
Is that the Haw river?
Excelente pesca felicidades...continua con la pesca con mosca!!!!
Gracias!
do you keep the striped bass? they're good eating when cleaned well and frried in coconut flower
I do not. I’m almost exclusively a catch and release fisherman. I just enjoy the sport of it.
@@SlabDynasty that’s so backwards to my raising. No disrespect just makes no sense to me. It’s like harming wildlife for fun.
try carp on the fly
I want to!
I was raised fly and spin fishing in the exact spot. Still go to this day.
It’s a great spot! All that water around there is prime when the flow is about 800 cfs.
@@SlabDynasty no doubt. I’ve fished it at 14k lol.
On foot? I’d imagine that’s pretty sketchy. We’re planning on floating it soon. Should be a fun video
