I will never see that movie. It promotes mess I don't and God does not approve of. Black actors were done wrong and not paid their worth. We all heard what Taraji P. said. Finally...someone who can see what I see....I could not agree with you more sis. Her and Marlon were a good fit....her and Common are just as much an odd pairing as I felt him with Tiffany was....I love both Common and JHud respectively as individual people and artist....just not feeling them as a good match together.
In fact, of all his long string of celebrity women he dated the only one I got excited over and still feel to this day was the only true complimentary pairing and perfect vibrational match that shared true authentic compatibility with each other across the board....and that he was ever truly deeply in love with...was E. Badu.....she is the only one of his string of relationships with celebrity women that actually made sense to me.
He even said in an old interview when talking about his exes... that E. Badu was his first true love, which is why it took so long for him to get over the break up with her....he said it took him a couple of years to finally get over E. Badu

The original Color Purple received 11 nominations for the Academy Awards and wine NONE.
American Fiction and Origin are must-see films. Great casting, acting and message in both films. I've ordered the book Caste by Isabel Wilkerson. Glad American Fiction received 5 Oscar nominations. Jeffrey Wright and Erika Alexander were brilliant.

Choosing American Fiction because Jeffrey Wright is a phenomenal actor and seriois thespian. He doesn't do acting for awards but the pleasure of making extraordinary work. My favorite movie is the Boycott, so excellent.

There was a story of Billie Holliday that happened with her little sister in an actual underground jazz club in Washington DC. Her sister came in the club dolled up and pretty and Billie let her know in sailor’s words to never let her catch her in there ever again. This story is written in a book by the sister.
