Would've loved to see Kamemushi win this, he adapted incredibly from getting rekt on WF, and in the last 2 games finally figured out how to play against Ally, he had that Game 4 :( But anyways, sick GF.
For some reason, I could never notice Ally's skills until I re-watched this match. Ally was always getting great results, but I just saw him as doing stuff that would be easy for any competitive Mario player. That deceptiveness is both his and Mario's best trait. The high level of skill is only displayed in high speed bursts and as a defensive reaction.
I love analyzing top level players and trying to understand their mind-games and strategies. Usually I can somewhat grasp a bit of what they are trying to do, but Ally is the anomaly. All I think during his matches are "wtf is he doing" and "why is this working" He is beyond comprehension,

It's even more noticable when compared to someone like Mr. R who relys almost entirely on just really really good play on pretty much every other aspect...
Bungha Bengyella nairo is VERY inconsistent. getting bad placings almost everywhere he goes right now. Zero has pretty consistent placing , but its below allys placings
Good for Ally.. Looking at that top 8 I am very impressed with the players I see. A Fox, R&L, Mew2, Villager, Sheik, Diddy, MEGAMAN, And The king Mario. So much diversity in the characters and the players. I'm not gonna sit here and bitch about character frame data or anything. I'm just proud of all those intense players.
Can someone explain to me why the loser of loser finals comes in third instead of the loser of winners finals? Wouldn't Zero have lost 2 sets, while the loser of winners would have only lost one? Unless the commentators got it wrong at 14:11 of course.
The loser of Winners Finals gets sent to Losers Finals. If they lose Losers Finals, they come in third. If they win Losers Finals, they get into Grand Finals. For example, Kamemushi lost Winners Finals, then beat ZeRo in Losers Finals and went to Grand Finals. Thus, the loser of Losers Finals got third. The winner of Losers Finals (the loser of Winners Finals) got second.

kamemushi defintetly deserv evo, ally in the 1 match looking only for up-smash to kill, wasnt pleasant to see. kamemushi put a lot of work on his megaman, looking for a setup to a kill and playing some mindgames with the metal blade. ally could have won the tournament, but kamemushi deserved evo much more.
7:05 - 7:15 & 18:40 - 18:52 How can Sm4sh Mario mains feel like that when he's the King of Frame Data? You guys have one of the best neutral games in Sm4sh by default. Grow up. No one wants to hear you guys complain about your lack of kill confirms or how hard you think it is to play against a character that can space better than Mario. If you want to feel like martyrs or struggling pioneers then play N64, Melee, or Brawl Mario; THAT'S a challenge. Otherwise, shut up and admit that you lost a match fair and square because it's rarely the MU in this game.

If you press the shield button in the air, the character will dodge. It's called "air dodging", as the previous commenter said.

When Ally is ~85% Kame should always utilt instead of grab! Both moves come in the same frame. Difference is one is a secure kill.
