Without a doubt Ally is one of the best players, but why is Zero losing to him so often. Many top players can beat Ally consistently, but Zero, the top player, just can't seem to beat him. Is Ally's play style a counter for Zero's playstyle?

Most people agree Mario beats Diddy pretty solidly. ZeRo went Cloud because Cloud beats Mario.
In all honesty I feel like ZeRo could beat Ally like any other player, but it's like he's scared of him
Getting so scared of your opponent's aerial that you airdodge too far down to come back shouldn't count as an SD tbh haha. I see that as a win on the mental warfare and thus a legitimate win for Ally. Good job to both players, ZeRo's Cloud is rather unique!

Is there a reason why Ally only uses normal mario when playing against zero? Anywhere else Ally would use the blue mario to represent C9.

Also why did he lose the glasses? I know Ally wears contacts right now, but from 2015 and earlier, Ally always had glasses on. Did he just change his style? I felt like ever since GOML when Ally first beat Zero, he stopped wearing his glasses.

Canada allowed Ally to return to local competition. Along with being a pathological liar and fraud, what ZeRo did was much worse and illegal. Expect him to never return.
Nintendo should really get into hosting or promoting tournaments or get into the esport movenment.
You could tell at the middle of the second match that ZeRo was starting to get triggered.

Perhaps it's not the mindset or playstyle between the two players but the fact it's Mario? Zero struggles against Mario's super-fast, high range grab, which is what Mario is all about.

Ally is officially in my eyes at least the best mario and the best player to use mario. He already was the best player to do so but I think between tbh6 and genesis 4 ally's mario has become insanely more technical

Man, that was a great set. It sucks it ended with an SD, though.
How is that an SD? If Zero doesnt air-dodge, he eats Ally's bair, which at that percent would have killed Cloud off the level. Ally forced the airdodge, which wrecks Cloud's ledge-grab, & delays recovery.

@5:13 D1 mentions that the tri-platform layout of battlefield is a good advantage for cloud. I'm trying to learn the game at an in-depth level, and I don't see how cloud with three platforms is good for him. Can someone enlighten me ?
Auto cancel up airs from under the platform. He can cover more area with his sword bc of the platforms too
Spintop Rogue You only get two jumps when you jump from the ground (first jump from the ground included) bit with platforms if you land on the platforms while you are juggling someone, you get an extra two jumps, thus extending the juggle
I don't understand these high tech players. I don't see much technique and the zero sd' at the end. I just see a lot of focus, spacing, and reading. Am I missing something?

well the smash 4 metagame is based off combo and kill confirms, whereas a game like melee is punish any mistake you can see

PrimSubZero 7 ally didn't just beat zero's diddy. He also beat his sheik and his cloud. Those are not winning mu's for Mario. If anything, the last time zero was able to take a set from ally was because he used diddy.
