I am a vet tech, so a quick subtle highlighter for my eyes is what wear like 5 days a week when I am working. My routine consists of sunscreen, primer for my under eyes, concealer, lip balm, and that highlighter as eyeshadow. Thanks for the video Kelly. I always like how in touch you are with the everyday kind of people that have busy lives. That's what love about you, so relatable.
i realllly like using single shadows all over my lids, because with my illnesses have really destroyed my bones, cartilage, muscles, and nerves so i can only lift my arms up little and i struggle a lot trying to do my eye makeup. i keep it as simple as i can but try to make it cute at the same time. i love using highlighter, blush, and bronzer on my lids as well.
Did you ever try duochrome eyeshadow ?? This is sooo beautiful and very usefuuuuullll! Cause you have a shift/ two colours effect with one eyeshadow :)
I love the green eyeliner look! I enjoy a one shadow look if I fancy something a bit bold and bright, especially a bright green or red. It’s a lot quicker than multiple shadows but also is more of a statement look.
I love the UD Moondust single in Solstice. I’ve had mine since 2016-yikes, I know, but it’s still going strong. I get compliments whenever I wear it. It’s such a complex and stunning shade. UD singles in general are more overlooked than they should be. Good stuff.
My favorite UD eyeshadow for a one-and-done look is "Lounge". I love that blue-green reflect with the red-brown backing color. ~ Anastacia in Cleveland
Karima McKimmie was the first person I saw do a video on favourite single shadows, I'm really happy to see some of my other favourite UA-camrs do a similar video. Great picks, one and done eyeshadow looks are my favourite
All from Colourpop: Wake up call, Pretty please, Earthshine, and Mr. Sandman. I just got Mr. Sandman and it is the most stunning purpley/pinkey duochrome EVER! I have worn it everyday this week with either wake up call or pretty please in the crease and then Mr. Sandman all over the lid and it looks so good!
I've recently started doing that when I'm in a hurry. My favorite blushes to use are Buxom Wanderlust Seychelles, Laura Mercier Ginger and Tarte Paarty. I'm very fair with cool undertones so I can't use a pink blush on my eyes unless I want to look like I have pink eye!
I just started buying makeup 1-2 years ago but didn't really start to put makeup on until this year. I started using brown/orange/pink eyeshadow but last month I bought juvia's place the zulu palette and let me tell you it CHANGED my life! Its so beautiful and colourful! I started using blue and green and I really love it.
When it comes to eyeshadow I either wear something quite bold or nothing at all. For a really simple look, I like to use one of the deep jewel-toned shimmers in my collection (Lethal Cosmetics Spirit, Aether, Equilibrium, Rise From The Ashes, Makeup Geek Flame Thrower or Coloured Raine Blue Magic) all over the lid and outer v and pair it with a bright inner corner. I also like lighter or more neutral shimmer shades (champagne, gold, rosegold, mauve, peach/green duochrome, mauve/gold duochrome) buffed all over the lid with a colorful winged liner
I just pulled out amber rush for the first time in years a few days ago. I’m embarrassed at how old it is, but it still performed like new and was just as lovely as I remembered.
I have the UD Moondust in Space Cowboy and it’s definitely one of my favourites, it’s a sheer base but packs the most glittery, dimensional punch of anything i own.
Yay! One shadow looks have absolutely been my favorite lately! And I totally agree that duochromes are the way to go to get the most dimensional look when only using one shade. My favorite one to use has been The Greatest Gift from Sydney Grace. 💜
This isn't just one shadow but I love using the Elf Bite Size face duos on my eyes. I use the blush in the crease and the highlight on the lid and it's beautiful!
Colourpop Super Shocks are my favorite for one shadow looks. I use my finger to blend it out in the crease a bit and tap on the lid to make it more intense
The moondust shadows are so pretty! I have Solstice but I find it has to be over something but this shade totally looks like a beautiful stand alone shade! Love this idea!! Singles used to be the “thing” years ago and now, in this palette world, we’ve forgotten them. I love duo/multi chromes so much, I know I’m not alone in that! 🤣😍 Awesome video Kelly!! 💖
Whenever I'm in a hurry or just around the house I usually throw my bronzer in the crease then go with one of my supershock shadows. My dose of colors single shadows are the best one and done but they're more expensive so I don't use em for just everyday quick looks
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the shades in Colourpop palettes that are mattes with glitter in them are some of my favorites that they make! They are perfect for a one shadow look - blended into the crease, the sparkle blends away. Packed onto the lid gives a nice, subtle shimmer. If I am in a hurry, I grab my Naked Honey brush and throw on one of those shadows!
My fav single shadow is Mushroom by Urban Decay. I can use it as a wash of color, & smudge it into lash line with liner & make it darker. Also Sin by UD is another fav. Two of my fav shades!
The balm of your hand vol. 1 is my go to one shadow look palette. Blush , bronzer, a perfect bronzey gunmetal. I used it on a ten day trip and got a different look every day. It’s old but perfect
I love a one and done eye. A few favorites are MAC Satin Taupe, Rituel de Fille Serpent de Mar, By Terry Misty Rock, Charlotte Tilbury Dark Pearl, Nars Verona and any Stila Shimmer & Glow
My everyday look is to sweep some bronzer in my crease and blend in a little blush. It really makes my eye color pop and saves me time when I’m in a rush.
I’m currently challenging myself to do looks with all the “quads” of the So Jaded palette. I Think I only have the bottom corner with blues and purples left.
Girl I am loving your videos! I used to only be a tutorial lover but now I'm seeing why non-tutorial type videos are so appealing! I do wish you'd do a tutorial soon though! 😄😉😀
I typically use 4 shades. Crease, defining shade / liner, lid and inner corner. I typically want at least 2 shades if I do all shimmer looks. The identity palette shimmers are good for that. Bossy with Seductive or Bossy with Goddess are great all shimmer duo looks.
My all time favorite one is The Balm Batter Up Eyeshadow Stick. The shade called 'Pinch Hitter', such a gorgeous shade, easy to blend, once it sets, it will stay all day. Seriously, it's so underrated..
the eye look inspires me! will definitely hunt for the essence. loving dual chromes lately. feels like I put so much effort when in fact I just pop it on and blend the edges. haha.
My favorite one shadow looks are using the touch in should single metallist shadows, sun aura and holo mulberry, absolutely stunning! I’m so excited because I have Clionadh multichromes coming to me in November, I can’t wait to do single shadow looks with them!
I LOVE one and done looks! I have hooded lids, so spending a ton of time on my eyes feels like a waste, if I am even wearing makeup! Thanks for the vid, Kelly.
One of my favorites is UD Naked Honey shade Keeper! I’ve paired it with a dark lip and it looks so good. And Faso is my favorite shade in my whole collection
During traveling or on a “lazy makeup day” I use a cooler or neutral toned bronzer... or a blush. The Cali Contour palette by Smashbox or the Contour and Highlight palette by ItCosmetics also work well for one and done eyeshadow looks.
There are a few shades from the original Naked palette that I love for this, particularly Darkhorse and Smog. It's a pretty dramatic look, though! The e.l.f. Long Lasting Lustrous eyeshadows were great for this as well (discontinued, I think).
My fave one-shadow is Mink Magnet from Buxom. It’s my almost daily shade, and I just slap it on with a finger and whack on some mascara. Especially handy to keep nearby for those sudden zoom calls that sneak up on you. It’s my perfect neutral shimmery taupe that goes with everything.
For years I was a one-and-done eyeshadow girl. Then for several years, I wore highlight as eyeshadow. I didn't even own an eyeshadow palette or use more than one colour at a time until about twoish years ago when I got into beauty UA-cam 😂 but most of the time I still only use two or three shades (crease, bottom lashline, lid), and more and more these days I'm finding myself reverting back to a one and done look (usually with a lavender/lilac colour). My favourites are Faso from the Magic palette, Lilac from the Älva I palette, Poolside (a highlighter) from Fenty, Gale from the Elsa palette and Own Ur Power from the In A Trance palette both from Colourpop, Flowery from the Soul Blooming palette, Venus from the bareminerals Aurora Lights Palette, Optimized from the Ultraviolet palette by UD, Libra and Nebula from the Mercury Retrograde palette, the purple shade from the Solmåne palette, and my TerraMoons singles in Libra, Atlantis, Moon Tide, Moon Lily, and the Colourpop Meg/Big Tough Girl highlighter. Since quarantine started I think these are just about all I'm wearing 😂
my favourite one and done shadow ever is antique bronze from the modern renaissance palette. Its kind of a my lid but better on me but the red undertone makes it look like I put in way more effort than I actually have
I'm fair, and I like Antique Bronze as a one-and-done, too! It looks a bit smoky on me, but I love how that looks - it makes my blue eyes really pop! ~ Anastacia in Cleveland
I totally recommend the xx revolution quartz eyeshadow palette! It's all shimmers and so reflective, I use a combination of a deep and a light shade for my looks and it's always stunning! They are 3 versions of it but my fave is quartz 😍
I have one of them, the most colorful one, I like the shades but the glitter fall out is so bad that I ended up giving it after 4 tries. I've tried them with glitter glue, even wet and mixed with the inglot mixing drops (I don't remember what it'd called). Nothing worked I have glitter all over my face, neck, hands and even knees. I've never experienced so much glitter fall out from another eyeshados.
@@Blue-Mo0n really?? I didn't had any glitter fallings on my face, I have the more neutral one and it really works with just a regular primer and stays on my lids all day
@@alevsahin1428 Yes, I'm not exaggerating at all. Maybe it's the bright palette only. I'm a biy afraid now to try their other ones but I might do it eventually.
I'm grateful to be seeing these one and done eyeshadow videos because I have small, hooded eyes and I've come to the conclusion that less is more is best for me when it comes to eye makeup. I've tried more complicated eye looks with good brushes and I still feel like it's too much or messy.
I love the bronze shade in the tarte foiled finger print palette, it's a metallic bronze with tons of silver shimmer, looks so much like the lithium moondust shadow. Also recommend the too faced canary diamond highlighter as an eyeshadow.✨
Great timing - right now I'm wearing only one shade 😄 I love especially light/medium dark rosegold eyeshadow - today it's one from the Sleek palette. But honestly give me any shiny, slightly pinky shade and I'll be good 🤗 Like the Essence one, isn't it lovely? 😍 In the duochrome area I love using Glass Bull as a one and done. So funny, because I gave GB to my coworker and she's also using it that way 😄
This might be a basic answer, but Colourpop super shock shadows are amazing for one shadow looks!! For me specifically I love the satin shades for this because I can blend them into the crease but still have some soft shimmery dimension on the lids. Wattles is one everyone loves, but some that I also love for this (that are sadly discontinued) are Glisten (peach satin from Kathleenlights winter 2018 collab) and Mixed Tape (taupey-purple satin)
One of my favorites is the bottom, warm taupy shade of the Kaja Orange Blossom bento stack, it’s beautiful!!! Especially with bronzer in the crease! Oh and a classic is Mac Woodwinked for medium-deep NC45ish skin tones (not cruelty free, but nice, actually trying to pan that one!) Annnd, I actually use Tropic Like It’s Hot bronzer in the Too Faced Natural face palette as a one and done eyeshadow, it’s wonderful too! Okay, that’s it, lol
I've got one of the super cheap pat mcgrath palettes that came in plastic casing and every shade in that works well as a single eyeshadow especially the duochrome. I'm kind of obsessed with duochrome at the moment.... Im looking forward to colour pop restocking their singles, I want tea garden!
Hi Kelly!!!! I love one and done eyeshadow looks!!! I do own the magic mini palette because you recommended a lot! 😁and that purple shade is my favorite!! Thank you for your spring recommendations since I'm from Argentina 🇦🇷and it's spring time here! 😉😁
I never ever wear only one shadow but this has def made me want to try it. I have some of the palettes and colors that you mentioned so it could def cut some get ready time on days where I am running late- which is quite often lol
This inspired me to be ok with being a bit more simple while still looking fancy af. You also reminded me how good the Lithium Shadow is (and the whole Moon Dust Palette for that matter)
I have used both my blush and my bronzer for a one and done look. Also could use ur lipstick for blush and eyeshadow color in a pinch. Great suggestions! 😁😁👍
One shadow looks are pretty much all I ever do, and have done. My favourites are the highlighter from pixi (the right side), and my fenty bronzer just now. Both products are my only bronzer and highlighter after years of decluttering, so I love to have a cohesive look with my cheeks and eyes. Also love any of the shades in the xxmakeup revolution xxposed palette or the third shade in the elf rose water quad
Hi Kelly, I love the idea of one shadow looks as someone who is always pressed for time. Unfortunately, I’ve been noticing shimmer shadows transfer to my crease which makes me so sad since they’re my favorite! I guess my eyelids have become more hooded and the skin is getting loose 😓 I wish there was a product available that would temporarily tighten eyelid skin!
After watching this I went hunting for duochromes in my palettes and found that the brown with green shift in the CP Mulan is perfect for a one and done shadow! it gives that dimension you talk about, I have a new favorite shadow now 😆. Thanks for this video! 😁
Charlotte Tilbury shimmers! Those rosy-peachy tones are so pretty as a one shade look, I do that pretty much every day. I throw it in the crease too, I think it’s so pretty!
I love a one and done look but I prefer creams like sticks or pots. Charlotte Tilbury eyes to mesmerize cream shadow is the best of the best when it comes to cream potted eyeshadow! They're especially great for mature skin! They're a moussey texture that is not drying like some potted creams can be! If you are a bit older and have trouble with eyeshadow you should check them out! I love the shade Marie Antoinette which is actually changed the name to I think it's Oyster pearl or something with oyster in it! I also have Amber gold which is beautiful too! My other favorites are the Laura Mercier cavier sticks! Caramel is a beautiful matte and Rose gold and metallic taupe are beautiful shimmers. I just wish the Drugstore and affordable brands would make more or better cream products!
I absolutely love one-shadow looks, and I do them often! Lately especially I’ve been experimenting with my colorful shimmers as one shadow looks. One that surprised me by not feeling too bright or too colorful for an everyday type look was “Peridot” from the ColourPop So Jaded palette-it works great on its own or just with bronzer! I think you’re the third or fourth person I’ve seen rave about “Lithium.” I actually own that one because I bought the Moondust palette on a steep discount from Marshall’s (I think it was only $10-$15-I bought it for the more colorful shades, so I practically never think to get that palette out for “Lithium.” I’ll have to play with that one more!
i have to say your hair looks lovely. the colour is beautiful on you. if you dont mind, i would recommend you go a tad bit heavier with your bronzer, just on the outer parts of your face, to help transition between the contrast of your hair colour and skin tone, and a tiny bit cooler with your blush (cooler nude tones). also try having more blotted liplines rather than crisper lined lips (instead of using lip liner and lipstick straight from the tube, pat on the colour using your finger). you dont have to do any of this of course. just though id leave a recommendation for whenever you feel like experimenting with your look
Essence has a color in the melted chrome very similar to the ofra liquid shade u showed. It’s new for me but I love cooler tones and taupes they are my happy place🤗
I love the UD moon dust eyeshadow in the shade solstice . I also lobe the essence melted chromes I have all about zinc and a few other shades their beautiful and so inexpensive . You chose some great shadows . Seeing this video is reminding me to play with my singles very soon
One shadow looks are my favorite and what i wear the most. Colourpop snake eyes, colourpop koosh and Armani eye tint in cold copper are my most used items for that.
I do love the essence melted chrome. I have the witch side palette from essence & its good. I order it then saw reviews on other palettes by essence was a little nervous. Glad that the witch side palette is good and not like the others.
Thank you for always having such thoughtful videos! I love seeing your smiling face in the morning! It gets me goin'! I love to use lithium from UD! And play Nirvana's Lithium when I put it on LOL :)
I love one shadow looks because I have deep set eyes and I feel like that is really all I need (my eyes look too deep set if I go in with too much shadow). I tried a one shadow from the K-beauty brand A'pieu (their Creamy Butter Shadow) and I am obsessed with it. It has a shimmery metallic look but it doesn't emphasize texture at all. I am going to have to order more!
I just wanted to say I really appreciate how you pronounced Michelle's last name! My last name rhymes with hers, and while for me I don't really mind when people pronounce it differently, I do appreciate it when people make an effort to pronounce it closer to the way it would be pronounced in the original language
I usually only wear some makeup in weekends and take my time for it. If I need a little extra during the week I often pick a shade from the jane iredale solar flare palette (the gold or the more bronzy orange, or the purple-gray now that I think about it) for a one and done eyeshadow
Eye swatches would have helped a ton! Stephanie did a great job because actually seeing them on the eye helps so much! I feel bad she did them all in 1 day though her poor eyes! And she had at least 15-20!
My fave one and done shades: Any shade from the Nyx Ultimate brights palette Mustard from the Lime Crime Venus 2 palette Desert storm from the Elf Earth and Oceans palette Colorpop's Glass Bull, Earthshine, Mr. Sandman I probably have much more I could add but these stand out in my collection 😀
I never use more than 3 shades in a day to day look, and that is usually only if I’m using my Tartelette in Bloom palette because it is so easy. Any other palette and I usually only use 2 colours. I love a duochrome on the lid and blended up into the crease. Normally just a CP SSS though (I prefer the satins like truth, wattles or acorn).
I love one and done shadews.I do love Pwrsona pallette :bossy, bombshell, goddess, seduction ans gold digger colors.Colourpop :comic charge and glassball colors.Tarte chrome pain Martini color.CT:Oyster pearl,Hourglass scartted light gritter:Smoke, vivid and Ray.Laura Mercier caviar stick: Metallic taupe, Mom light and Rose gold.Nudstix:Queen olive.Dose of colors:Encore and shell we dance.
Why does one of my cheeks have way more blush than the other?!😂
Still looks good though 👌 😊
I thought it was the lighting.
I didn't notice til I was about to write a comment. looks good no worries! 😊
I was about to comment how gorgeous the extra blush looks then I saw this lol, but the blush and the gold earrings looks stunning
You love that side more lol, you still look great

Ready for an OG- Wet n Wild Nutty 🤩
1000% yes. I wore that shadow everyday when I was in high school. I hit major pan in it.

I love the green eyeliner look!

I do looove use blush as my eyeshadow and I also live for this green/brown multi chrome shades for this kind of one product look
This whole year, I can hardly be bothered to use more than just a one and done eyeshadow!
Love that look!
L’Oréal Amber Rush or Wet n Wild Nutty are my faves for one shadow looks, but I have some duochromes from Prestige that I will definitely try.
All from Colourpop: Wake up call, Pretty please, Earthshine, and Mr. Sandman. I just got Mr. Sandman and it is the most stunning purpley/pinkey duochrome EVER! I have used my blush as a one and done shadow when I'm in a hurry, or when I'm trying really hard to pan it.
That’s a great way to get extra use when you’re trying to pan something!
bronzer and highlighter also work in the same way! i love bronzer in the crease and highlight in the inner corner, easy peasy look!

I have just started doing one shadow looks and finding fun, gorgeous shimmers in my collection is so much fun!!
I love the bronze shade in the tarte foiled finger print palette, it's a metallic bronze with tons of silver shimmer, looks so much like the lithium moondust shadow. Also recommend the too faced canary diamond highlighter as an eyeshadow.✨
Yes yes yes!!! I love these everyone needs to do them I'm obsessed ❤️🌸❤️
Great timing - right now I'm wearing only one shade 😄 I love especially light/medium dark rosegold eyeshadow - today it's one from the Sleek palette. But honestly give me any shiny, slightly pinky shade and I'll be good 🤗
Like the Essence one, isn't it lovely? 😍
In the duochrome area I love using Glass Bull as a one and done.
Catching up on your videos while I fold laundry 😂😂
Oh gosh, I need to do my laundry😂
One of my favorites is the bottom, warm taupy shade of the Kaja Orange Blossom bento stack, it’s beautiful!!! Especially with bronzer in the crease!
Oh and a classic is Mac Woodwinked for medium-deep NC45ish skin tones (not cruelty free, but nice, actually trying to pan that one!)
Annnd, I actually use Tropic Like It’s Hot bronzer in the Too Faced Natural face palette as a one and done eyeshadow, it’s wonderful too! Okay, that’s it, lol
My go to easy eyeshadow look is a sweep of my bronzer brush across my creases and an eyeshadow stick 👌 so easy and simple!
Oooh yes!!
I've got one of the super cheap pat mcgrath palettes that came in plastic casing and every shade in that works well as a single eyeshadow especially the duochrome. I'm kind of obsessed with duochrome at the moment.... Im looking forward to colour pop restocking their singles, I want tea garden!
Ulta carries some of the SSS and there are a few duochromes. Tea Garden isn't there but the ones they carry are in stock.
@@Cara-39 aww thanks, I wish ulta shipped abroad! One day maybe they'll see sense 😁
I am totally OBSESSED with those essence shadows
They’re so good!
you’re looking radiant as always, kelly. happy thursday 💛
Thank you!!
Hi Kelly!!!! I love one and done eyeshadow looks!!! I do own the magic mini palette because you recommended a lot! 😁and that purple shade is my favorite!! Thank you for your spring recommendations since I'm from Argentina 🇦🇷and it's spring time here! 😉😁
The UD moondust shadows are so pretty! 😍
Yes they are!!
Is lithium discontinued??!...nooo I went to ultra and it is not on display either. Sadface
@@jillr7111 it’s not on UD Canada’s website either 🙁. Many of the Moondust shadows are on clearance so maybe they are all being phased out
Clearance??! I will look for other shades I guess. Thank you Judith😉
@@jillr7111 good luck Jill😊
I never ever wear only one shadow but this has def made me want to try it. I have some of the palettes and colors that you mentioned so it could def cut some get ready time on days where I am running late- which is quite often lol
I love using "glass bull" from colourpop as a one and done. It makes my green eyes pop because of the greenish/purple/taupe duochrome
This inspired me to be ok with being a bit more simple while still looking fancy af. You also reminded me how good the Lithium Shadow is (and the whole Moon Dust Palette for that matter)
Those waves look amazing!
Ooohh. I want that Lithium shade! Beautiful! Thank you for adding pressed powder shadows! Those are the one and done shadows I reach for the most
It’s so unique!
Sadface...let me know if you find lithium, it is not one of the shades shown in the link, Sephora and I even drove to ulta, hope it’s not discontinued
I've been doing a crease color then a shimmer on top for a while now! Simple and easy
Love this video... it takes a lot of restraint for me to do 1 shadow only but I love the end result!!
Hi Kelly,
I love the idea of one shadow looks as someone who is always pressed for time. Unfortunately, I’ve been noticing shimmer shadows transfer to my crease which makes me so sad since they’re my favorite! I guess my eyelids have become more hooded and the skin is getting loose 😓
I wish there was a product available that would temporarily tighten eyelid skin!
Sydney Grace shimmers are amazing & most can be one & done. Finely milled, SILKY gorgeous
Yeeeees! I've been watching these videos non-stop. One and done is my look. Especially cream eyeshadows.
Love that look!
i have to say your hair looks lovely. the colour is beautiful on you. if you dont mind, i would recommend you go a tad bit heavier with your bronzer, just on the outer parts of your face, to help transition between the contrast of your hair colour and skin tone, and a tiny bit cooler with your blush (cooler nude tones). also try having more blotted liplines rather than crisper lined lips (instead of using lip liner and lipstick straight from the tube, pat on the colour using your finger). you dont have to do any of this of course. just though id leave a recommendation for whenever you feel like experimenting with your look
Yas! Love to hear more recommendations for quick easy makeup 😍
I love Essence's single chrome eyeshadows and I have all the colours plus I have Colourpop's Lilac you a lot😊
Thank you for always having such thoughtful videos! I love seeing your smiling face in the morning! It gets me goin'! I love to use lithium from UD! And play Nirvana's Lithium when I put it on LOL :)
I love one shadow natural looks!
My fav. 1 and done are highlighters too 💜
The duochrome pink in the juvias place zulu palette is seriously the most perfect one shadow look!
Oooh so pretty!
I love a good one-shadow-look and come back to it sooo often. For me, the Born to Run Palette is perfect for that, especially the shimmer shades :)
My favorite one and done is Baby Bat Beauty’s Retrograde. It’s a green duochrome and I LOVE it! 💚
My fave one and done shades:
Any shade from the Nyx Ultimate brights palette
Mustard from the Lime Crime Venus 2 palette
Desert storm from the Elf Earth and Oceans palette
Colorpop's Glass Bull, Earthshine, Mr. Sandman
I probably have much more I could add but these stand out in my collection 😀
my holy grail single shadow for these type of looks, dose of colors encore😍
I love using the hourglass scattered light shadow in smoke for a one and done look 👀
I do them a lot. I love dark goldenrod and petal peach from coastal scents, tea garden, snake eyes from colourpop,
