    I know your reasoning is yours, but it seems a bit of a stretch. It gives me not carrying one in the chamber vibes. I trust the GPT so much it is in my duty carry and backup duty carry. Had it for 2 months and approaching 3000 rounds

    • @Gypsyman40
      @Gypsyman40  3 місяці тому +7

      I love the trigger for sure and I always have one in the chamber for over 20 years...lol. I've carried the GPT EDC since it was introduced. But, if I can be honest...I only feel 85-90% sure that its safety is flawless. I have 4 GPTs in total. My competition and a few others all have the triggers installed. This idea of wanting absolute certainty only applies to my EDC's. I've shot over 8k rounds with the GP triggers. It works, but for me...it will remain in my training and competition guns. Respectfully...be safe in your duties.

      Had a massive failure of the GPT today at a competition. Dead trigger, tap rack, dead trigger, tap rack, pulled the trigger hard and it felt spongey then AD’d into the berm with no discernible break.
      Granted, I had about 700 rounds without cleaning the trigger (did a simple clean and lube of the slide at 300, but the GPT requires special maintenance).

    I dont understand people saying, " You won't see/use your sights in a self-defense encounter." This is why we train to develop muscle memory etc. You moght not remember seeing your sights, but if you've trained extensively, I promise you'll use your sights as a natural reaction. I believe it was Wyatt Erpp who, when asked how he won so many actual gun fights, said, " I aleays saw and used my sights," which mean shots on target where the looser just fired quick and missed. Good video.

    • @Gypsyman40
      @Gypsyman40  2 місяці тому +2

      Respect... But within 7 yards or more I doubt if you will see your sights or get out of your holster as fast as you would with a non threatening/ steel or paper target that won't shoot you back or charge after you with something that could potential harm you severely. Quotes from ones book won't help you nor do I want to put their theories to the test. Peace

      @Gypsyman40 eith adrenaline pumping and a life potentially on the line the focus won't be just getting shots off, it's stopping the threat and the best, fastest way to fo that is getting sights on target. Is that a tymney alpha trigger or performance glock trigger because theres an absolute difference the glock performance trigger pulls around 4.5lbs vs the tymney alpha trigger which pulls at 2lbs in some glocks but usually in that 2.5-3lb range also the tymney alpha trigger which im sure is what your recording is made for competition use and not for edc so i as well would be scared shit less if i carried that i own the gen 5 26 as well as glock 45 and run the apex tactical trigger in both zero malfunctions and both pull at 3.5lbs perfect for edc and not worried about cheddar bobbing. ‼️‼️

    People have been saying that the Timney trigger is not drop safe for the same reason. I.e., the sear can drop when the trigger is not pulled since it's not attached to the cruciform and thus not held up by the shelf. The firing pin safety should prevent a discharge, but I agree that it doesn't seem as safe as the original design.
