I was taught to always start a solo with 3 key things 1. Start Melodic 2. Don’t play too many notes 3. And don’t start on the root note. All good advice I’ve found

Your playing and command of the guitar is insane, mate! Expressive, beautiful in choice of chord solo work and ad libs as well as single notes, simply tasteful and musical beyond doubt! Wow, so inspiring! As far as how to approach these things: Anything you say, I buy it all!

Lol im literally trying to finish a video about tommy bolins solo on cobhams red baron and i say quote tommys solo first if youre gonna solo on this tune! Id say great minds think alike but my mind and my guitar playing are not as great as your mind or guitar playing! Did you mean Gravity tho? Im confused…thats not layla…its gravity, no? Methinks youre cranking out so many vids youre forgetting what youre actually shooting bruv?
Sorry, I don't hear Layla at all. I'm not even sure what key you are playing in. Did you ever even land on a root note? You're obviously running down scales, but I can't tell at all which ones. If this song is indeed in B (it probably is not), then are you playing B major, or what? I have played guitar for 50 years but have no idea what you are doing or why. Can you explain the process musically please for idiots like me?

Starting is not a big deal, it's about the feel. but finishing, that's another story. I find more difficult to finishing than beginning
