I have several friends under 25 who are just getting into vinyl and are trying to upgrade their systems. One of them is really into classic rock and just purchased Rush's first album on vinyl. I've been showing him how to clean his records and to care for them---its a very refreshing experience and it reminds me of my younger days.
Very cool video! Nice to see some young people into the hobby. Makes me reflect back to my own beginning. I was always into what we called "gadgets" then. That included anything from transistor radio on up. Bought my first "system"(an all-in-one) at 18 after entering the military. A year later I realized "separates" were the way to go. This video makes me feel so behind the times. I'm running an Ayon transport and DAC feeding a Audiozone AMP1 amp powering a pair of Rogers LS5/9s. I have been into it since I was 16 in some form or another. I think I just settled into a stereo/ home theater hobby at age 30 out of realizing so much of what I do revolves around enjoying media. I am a DIY person on some things, but I have only made 4 sets of DIY speakers and 5 DIY subwoofers since I was 16 and only one pair of speakers in the past 3 years. I just like my LS50's more than any of the speakers I have done DIY right now.

Wow I missed this! I’m 27 and run Focal Aria 926 (found a terrific deal on the discontinued “Noyer” model) with a Peachtree Nova300. Streaming through Bluesound Node 2i. Running a 12 inch Klipsch subwoofer with plans to upgrade that portion but am undecided on what to get.
Looking at your title, to be grammatically correct shouldn't it say FEWER THAN 30 audiophiles? What? Oh. Oops
black plastic equipment is awful. got my components in late 90's and I have to use a flashlight to see the controls. If I was gonna get new stuff it would all be silver/chrome
what do you think about Rotel RA921? I bought it for 163 USD for my Klipsch rf-42 ii floor standing.
Ehaaa ! Wheres my system ? Ohh it would take 30min to video it all lol
Great video! It is amazing the depth of gear folks are rocking. How about a video or two of folks under the age of 18 and their systems. Maybe if they live close to you a interview.
Be happy, be safe
Man Steve, I consider myself young but I'm getting close to 40. I guess it's the aging population that makes me feel so young.
There all good pictures. Every one of them have good taste. 👍🏼👍🏼
Love all these young audiophiles. Hope for the future 👍
I got into proper hifi having listened to a friends basic seperates system, played a track that i liked with a gentle tambourine in the background, borrowed the cd, on my all in one technics system, it wasn't there, it had just got mushed in with the rest of the music, system sold, never looked back, non Audiophiles just don't get it, i honestly don't believe it's got anything to do with superior hearing, just want to hear what's in the recordings.
The holistic pasta nutritionally measure because case optimally cheer a a awake forehead. deranged, glamorous pasta
Some of these guys have better set ups than I had at that age 😆 some nice stuff in there.
Question.
I’ve always seen those 80’s 90’s speaker. Big horns tweeters and big speakers.
How do they actually perform when compared to a modern towers?
Steve believe it or not you and I have a lot in common my name is Austin 13 1/2 years old I ran into Sar Marantz working on the electronics anyhow I got close with him and I and three other guys from the time we were 15 years old we were auditioning his equipment before he actually released it and he was trying to get in we all had great hearing and he educated us and I was already in the hi-fi at that point knew about it and build a system already anyhow I met a refresher as well I work with Donninow
It am surprised how many young folks have vintage speakers from decades ago. We must be in the age of nostalgia.
Great fun seeing these setups...beats my Aiwa twin cassette-deck boom box (for making playlist tapes) I had my first year in college...
Haha, high speed dubbing!
Can please review Polk audio LSIM 707 tower speakers
Steve, Here is a list of my Home Theater System:
Sony AV Receiver STR-DH770
Tower Speakers Cerwin-Vega VE-15
Center speaker Cerwin-Vega CV0903882
Sub-Wolfer JBL PB-10
Question, Is my current receiver good enough for my speakers?
Yeah
Steve. Why do you look around for men under the age of thirty on the internet? And also you ask them to please show a picture of themselves..
Hi Steve, can you please say something on Mcintosh amplifiers
That’s amazing I definitely would love to be able to show you my home theatre system and I’m only 18
i have a pair of vintage speakers designed by ed may for marantz, if i tell people what they are , they tell me to throw them in the garbage; however if people listen to them in my system without knowing their provenance , they are fulsome with praise.
I imagine 10:49 would be very sharp. Only a guess however.
Nice to see someone else that runs a set of Vintage Fisher Speakers. They get a bad rep but sound great with the right receiver/anp
Yikes!
