How do you not understand this new business model. It's actually quite brilliant. First, they make an awesome game, make you fall in love with it. Second, they make you all nostalgic and release a 'Reforged' version (obviously they wont give everything you want at this point that would be just stupid). Three, they release a 'Repolished' version of the 'Reforged' version which was a 'Remake' of the original version. Ez money $$$

Because when low poly, to give out more detail, they use hand drawn texture, which usually use high color contrast to make up with the low poly. The reverse happen with high poly, since the poly is many, they pick less contrast color, much less black. The greyish and midtone is what makes it's harder to see and comprehend what you were seeing. The high poly that very messed up was at Bone Wyrm Building, very confusing. Nevertheless, both were good art.
I dont think anyone can argue the detail that was put into the models is impressive. They do look a lot better, the thing that irritates me the most is the lack of their animations and movement both in game and during in game cut scenes. They just sit there like chess pieces for the most part. They had such an amazing opportunity to remake one of the greatest RTS's of all time and instead further pissed off an already pissed off fan base.
Indeed! Also, the art style for some models is waaays off from what it could have been. But that's all. Oh wait, also the promised remade campaigns ... i guess. But if we forget about that, it's just the art style and animations that are lacking. Most people keep complaining about the art, so it must be a big reason. The detail is there, so that cant be denied. P.s. Water is also lacking big time btw

@@Starfals it sure does! The first blizzard game i bought was Diablo 1 in 1997. Blizzard is the best when it comes to gaming, most popular until this day and will be for many years to come. I can only see success with Wc3 reforged. The only company that can compete with Blizzard when it comes to gaming culture is Valve.

I don't know about you but I think the way the reforged didn't quite captured the feeling of war3 in aesthetics(I'm not criticizing it,it looks awesome) to me.Like the original Arthas looks better to me than the re one,same for the necromancer.

Even if they tried to precisely copy WC3 without trying to improve anything, it still wouldn't feel right - the game would be build on a modern platform; it would run too smoothly, edges would be too clear, animations would be too smooth, lightning wouldnt be right etc. I'm all for shitting on Blizzard but you cannot realistically expect to get the same feeling as when you play(ed) the original WC3. Play Reforged for pure gameplay (assuming it's more polished and better looking than the original when it releases), play the original Warcraft 3 for feelings.
they make wrong colors, like with Arthas cloak, etc, alot of luminous things are disappeared, and some shapes of buildings have changed with another models like "entrence" etc, some objectes fill with colors that is not in original w3 so they miss this details and we feel it
I like the new Arthas better. He looks more terrifying honestly and more of what he should pre lich king. The older model reminded me too much of a 90s cartoon villain....half expected him to pull a skeletor. NYEH!!
After watching this. I just feel sadness rather than excitement... Feels like the higher ups are pushing employees to rush everything. The details are good but there's no distinction between heroes and mobs... Color as a whole doesn't have the scourge feel idk maybe its just me. Anyways just my personal opinion. Still a good job done so far considering such a short time
They had a very short time to do this, it didn't take 18 years, it took them 1 and a bit more from what i hear. I wish they had more time to do more however, this is not enough. You are not exactly wrong, many people said a similar thing so there must be some truth to it :P
there's a reason why it's still beta in the first place, it's to get feedback from the users. Things are bound to change for sure, like animations and lip sync. I don't know about bad models though, the new Jaina doesn't look good with those cheekbones.

I feel the opposite, it's less dark and more bright. The Abomination's leg is no longer deformed, the Altar of Darkness is a crowned skeleton instead of a mysterious unknown dead cultist, and the skulls overall look more "alive" and aggressive and less dark, empty, grim and void. The buildings are no longer desecrated/repurposed human buildings but have their own style (Crypt, Graveyard).
some upgrades i felt looked quite reasonable, like lich/kel, also the transition of arthas seemed to flow abit better. but some units were upgraded too much, i mean acolytes and necromancers are like your workers and early units, they shouldnt be dressed all gaudy and look like an advanced unit... the previous polygon count kinda gave you an instinctive idea on how important or threatening some units were by visual cues. then there's the color, some units had too much detailed areas that they lost alot of colour coded areas to easily identify which team they should be on
I hope so too! So far it looks 90% great, but some units just dont look good, others look good but they dont fit their role or even the Warcraft theme. At least they will polish them more when the game comes out.
The 2003 rendition of lich sent chills the first time I saw it when I did the undead campaign and still strikes an impression compared to the over saturation of armor design of the recent ones and models, less is more as some masters say, I'm studying animation and hope to achieve the same level of design and animation from this masterpiece of a game.

@@resolutionblaze363 my glasses are on and Im a character designer, the models are beautiful but you cant forget that this is a game, the models need to have distinctive features and readability not just fancy details which you wont see 99.99% of the time. Amazing models but terrible for a strategy game especially since the mobs and heroes almost look the same lol
@@trm245 1 thing is for sure, the colors and contrast are off. That alone makes the original look better. Also the whole game has a blurry vibe at times. Even with AA off, it still feels 20% reduced. When it comes to the models i wont comment, people can see that for themselves
Lets be honest back in 2003 when WC3 was released that graphics was considered fking amazing and now in 2020 sure it looks cooler but by our standards it’s alright I’d say also I can’t believe the cinematic and cutscenes in WC3 is still more lively and emotional than WC3 reforged
seems to me they really forgot about readability. maybe that's because my brain is looking for the original icons, but i can't see what the hell are half of the new ones. also the glow on the heroes, the miplaced amount of detail on a damn cultist, the dark cloud of the shade, the helmet on the skeleton that is the surest way to make it not look like a skeleton etc... so... meh. the old War3 is still perfectly fine to me.
Indeed, thats actually my biggest problem. Readability. I can barely tell whos fighting who, or what icon is doing what. I like some of the new icons, cus they are higher ress, as in less blurry... but some other are totally changed and new. Also, some heroes and units have more realistic looks, so that makes them smaller.. which makes it hard to see them. Finally someone wrote a comment that's exactly my problem with the game haha!

It's just doesn't look and feel right that they removed some effects? -- Like the purple light from the banshee and the wringling plasma from the zigurrat? The structural details look better now though, even though they still look unfinished. But they look more scary and demonic now, which is a good thing, I guess. 🤔 Anyway, Nyx Assassin looks really cool! 😊 And also the beetle and destroyer. I like it! But what the hell happened to Arthas? 😂

These all look pretty good to me. Better than the other factions imo . Though like you say in the description, they don't look all that warcrafty, but really very few of the reforged models do. I'm really glad they didn't royally fuck up undead, because it's always been my favourite.

The wings from the frostwyrms are waaay to small. In classic they look like a real wyrm, huge and majestic knowing these things cost everything you have but they have the highest dmg...
Indeed. It is the only thing that bothers me with the new frostwyrm. They recently said why btw.. because it was blocking gameplay and the screen so they had to make them small and dumb.
The og wc3 had a cartoonish vibe that fits everything pretty well. The remastered one made the models more realistic and kept everything else as is which makes it look off. This is a lazy rush job man, i expected more from them because of all their promotions and how good they handled the starcraft remaster.

Hmm.. Upclose, they look really great. But what about when you're zoomed out and controlling a bunch of these units at once? I feel like its suffering the same thing SC2 had where units had so much detail on them that it gets hard to pick out which unit is what when zoomed out. I don't play multiplayer or competitive stuff so this isn't a problem for me so I'm really excited for this one.

Bruh original warcraft is one of the first PC games I played and have memories with and the design of the some buildings and units on the new one make me impossible to know what it is originally. It really removes nostalgia
The sprites are so shabby that i cant think that Blizzard made both, if you look closely to the movement of the Abominations or the Ghouls, you can see the frame where his "movement" resets
the sizing of nearly all units is not correct, from top down they look totally different and that's why I prefer the old graphics... Also because of the bad shading, there is something wrong with the colors.

I feel the opposite, it's less dark and more bright.
The Abomination's leg is no longer deformed, the Altar of Darkness is a crowned skeleton instead of a mysterious unknown dead cultist, and the skulls overall look more "alive" and aggressive and less dark, empty, grim and void.
The buildings are no longer desecrated/repurposed human buildings but have their own style (Crypt, Graveyard).
Am I the only one who doesn't like the Panda glaives of the Demon Hunters?

some upgrades i felt looked quite reasonable, like lich/kel, also the transition of arthas seemed to flow abit better.
but some units were upgraded too much, i mean acolytes and necromancers are like your workers and early units, they shouldnt be dressed all gaudy and look like an advanced unit... the previous polygon count kinda gave you an instinctive idea on how important or threatening some units were by visual cues.
then there's the color, some units had too much detailed areas that they lost alot of colour coded areas to easily identify which team they should be on

I hope so too! So far it looks 90% great, but some units just dont look good, others look good but they dont fit their role or even the Warcraft theme. At least they will polish them more when the game comes out.
Rubbish ,It is twenty years
The 2003 rendition of lich sent chills the first time I saw it when I did the undead campaign and still strikes an impression compared to the over saturation of armor design of the recent ones and models, less is more as some masters say, I'm studying animation and hope to achieve the same level of design and animation from this masterpiece of a game.

@@resolutionblaze363 DUDE. the quality of the reforged models are obviously better. But they are seriously lacking in effects. As many of these youtube comments say, they are less lively/active. Which is a darn shame.
@@resolutionblaze363 my glasses are on and Im a character designer, the models are beautiful but you cant forget that this is a game, the models need to have distinctive features and readability not just fancy details which you wont see 99.99% of the time. Amazing models but terrible for a strategy game especially since the mobs and heroes almost look the same lol

@@trm245 1 thing is for sure, the colors and contrast are off. That alone makes the original look better. Also the whole game has a blurry vibe at times. Even with AA off, it still feels 20% reduced.
When it comes to the models i wont comment, people can see that for themselves

Lets be honest back in 2003 when WC3 was released that graphics was considered fking amazing and now in 2020 sure it looks cooler but by our standards it’s alright I’d say also I can’t believe the cinematic and cutscenes in WC3 is still more lively and emotional than WC3 reforged

seems to me they really forgot about readability. maybe that's because my brain is looking for the original icons, but i can't see what the hell are half of the new ones. also the glow on the heroes, the miplaced amount of detail on a damn cultist, the dark cloud of the shade, the helmet on the skeleton that is the surest way to make it not look like a skeleton etc...
so... meh. the old War3 is still perfectly fine to me.
Indeed, thats actually my biggest problem. Readability. I can barely tell whos fighting who, or what icon is doing what. I like some of the new icons, cus they are higher ress, as in less blurry... but some other are totally changed and new.
Also, some heroes and units have more realistic looks, so that makes them smaller.. which makes it hard to see them. Finally someone wrote a comment that's exactly my problem with the game haha!
Well, you have to evolve. So, it's fine with the new ones. But the former units will always have a special attachment

It's just doesn't look and feel right that they removed some effects? -- Like the purple light from the banshee and the wringling plasma from the zigurrat? The structural details look better now though, even though they still look unfinished. But they look more scary and demonic now, which is a good thing, I guess. 🤔
Anyway, Nyx Assassin looks really cool! 😊 And also the beetle and destroyer. I like it!

2020 reforge is like a rich kid with all money and stuff trying to be 2002 original one. Graphics and details looks great but for me it seems doesn’t get the characters.

Indeed. It is the only thing that bothers me with the new frostwyrm. They recently said why btw.. because it was blocking gameplay and the screen so they had to make them small and dumb.

The og wc3 had a cartoonish vibe that fits everything pretty well. The remastered one made the models more realistic and kept everything else as is which makes it look off. This is a lazy rush job man, i expected more from them because of all their promotions and how good they handled the starcraft remaster.

Hmm.. Upclose, they look really great. But what about when you're zoomed out and controlling a bunch of these units at once? I feel like its suffering the same thing SC2 had where units had so much detail on them that it gets hard to pick out which unit is what when zoomed out.
I don't play multiplayer or competitive stuff so this isn't a problem for me so I'm really excited for this one.

Bruh original warcraft is one of the first PC games I played and have memories with and the design of the some buildings and units on the new one make me impossible to know what it is originally. It really removes nostalgia

The sprites are so shabby that i cant think that Blizzard made both, if you look closely to the movement of the Abominations or the Ghouls, you can see the frame where his "movement" resets
the sizing of nearly all units is not correct, from top down they look totally different and that's why I prefer the old graphics... Also because of the bad shading, there is something wrong with the colors.
Colors are very wrong, but i guess they wanted those new pale colors ;/
i HOPE they can improve on the particle effects on champions and a lot of units and also the orc totems
Orc totems are fixed now, so its all great ^^
