11:14 ... using a tuning fork is a great idea! I've only just used a screwdriver to tap the pickup, if I hear tapping out of my amp I'm good to go. But, I can see now even if I hear a tap I may not be getting the strongest signal that a tuning fork might indicate. Cool! ... 12:04 ... A shout out to Elmar Zeilhofer, the innovator and pioneer of the flatpup!!!
Great, clear explanation. Very helpful.
BTW, I’m the yellow guitar/ukulele guy from Englewood
Thanks, Mike, that's really interesting
Good info. 👍
Wow you turned on a light in my mind explaining and demonstrating the magnet moving in the 5 dollar make UT holla excellent pickups by the way...and saying no signal with it laying there so the strings do it for us. Alright.
Extremely helpful! I'm a 1st timer/ builder....fool proof! (An I'm a fool/ chef) NOT a regular wood worker at all! Would love to do a neck thru design 4-string bass. Gotta beautiful slab of Hi. Koa, compliments of my brother from Hi. Keep it up! Thanks again!!!!
Thanks so much, very informative
Very Informative Mike! Thanks for the education and Thanks for offering so many types of Pickups!
Good vid
Thanks for the video. I'm getting ready to build my 2nd CBG and I want to install two Humbuckers. Not sure about the installation wiring. The Video helps. One suggestion I would make is to turn the music down and the mic up. It's a little difficult to hear. I personally like these kinds of videos without music. I realize that not everyone agrees. Thanks again.
❤❤❤❤
FYI my blade pickup wiring is the same as the hot tuna. I was confused.
What pickup would you recommend I use for my 3 string ammo box guitar I am building. I am thinking the steel top would lower the sensitivity of a flat pickup. I prefer less twangy tones and a humbucker to avoid hum and noise. Thanks.
