I put the Solar Performance throttle body and controller on my Carbon 65 Z06 and I agree, this made a HUGE difference. The low idle and taking off is soo much better, but of course, the mid and high range is a major improvement. I highly suggest doing this mod as everyone will be able to tell the difference and no tune is required.
The combo of Throttle Body and our throttle controller is undoubtedly the two best mods you can do for totally WOW RESULTS FOR UNDER $1000! Enjoy, Joe@soler
@@ColesCarCaveit eliminates the dead zone in the pedal for a lack of better words. C&S Corvettes does a good dive into it in a video or two, but you could have convinced me you nodded my engine 100% with the performance it extracts from what is already there by simply adjusting some throttle percentages. Like I said it’s just giving you more of the vehicles actual raw power that the computer would otherwise inhibit or limit.
Hey Nishal so the ZR1 will be interesting if we are talking throttle bodies. I feel theres going to be room for improvement if GM goes the route they had with their OEMs. Also the rear camera is actually a 360 GoPro camera i use in some of my film and isnt part of the car. I just had it mounted on the back is all 😎
Hey Rudi. So theres a power cycle process thats standard per the instructions from Soler right after install. Once thats done, there isnt a CEL and your good to go. 😎👍
I did not have any CEL issues after installation. It just needed to go through the required power cycle as part of the install process and it was good to go! 😎👍
There's no way to tell if the TB are different from the outside. As long as you pass visual and there's no codes you'll pass in general in CA. They can read tunes now supposedly but no worries there since we can't even tune the new Z lol
Definitely want to get TBs and apparently now I should wait to see if results show 91 help much over 87s. These cars are dogs imo in low RPMs and need to be fixed just for the experience
Hey LSx Thanks for the comment! Yeah I would say the 87mm will FIT the bill on how the Z06 SHOULD ACT in the low RPMs from factory to begin with instead of feeling so lazy. I cant say an official ETA on when the 91mm will be coming out, but I think its worth checking out the 87mm for now, being very happy with what you get from it, and then appreciating the 91mm when it eventually comes out. Its a night and day difference between OEM to 87mm and FEELS great and really satisfying. When the 91mm then comes out, it'll also be like its transforming the car AGAIN. Hope that helps!
@happyness5293 Brandon on here got like 15whp gain with his 87mm Soler TB, but like Nu said the peak isn't the reason I'd do it is the low end where the car struggles. Top end the car pulls solid and without a tune not much left on the table but low end it lacks alot
Haha I was wondering if anyone would notice 🤣. She was legit was taking photos for a minute or so but it was all in the edited video parts I took out where I wasnt talking or was out of frame 🤣.
Hey Oxe so if your talking the z06 sillohuette then its from a company called petrol vibes and its actually a metal wall art piece. If your talking the nu horizon logo thing, then that i made myself with a vinyl cutter lol. An upcoming video ill be doing is gunna talk about all the stuff i have mounted on the walls since its part of my garage makeover build! 😎
I purchased the eventuri intake and the 91 mm throttle bodies and have an htc and will be doing the install once the TB's arrive at the same time. I'm curious if you used 1/4" or 3/8" drive extenders to reach the t30's on the back mounting points of the airbox?
Youll definitly need extenders to reach those t30s on the back of the airbox. Either drive size is fine so long as it uses the T30 bit on the end. I recommend a universal joint attached between two extenders and come in from above using the central vent. Ill have a full how to instructional video coming in the next few weeks that should help.
I see the factory throttlebodies have the shaft covering on both sides of the throttle body plate..where the 91mm doesn't.. How does that translate to strength and durability?
Hey thanks for the comment! So to my knowledge, Soler has had a rock solid history with implementing this design among other vehicle platforms without any strength or durability issues so I'm really confident in the design. Its still keeping the rod reinforcement on the outlet side and pivot ends which would handle more of the stress than most of the other areas to begin with.
Does this void warranty? I have a 2025 Z06 3LZ. I’ve put 180 miles on it so far. I purchased my extended warranty combined with the warranty it came with. I’m terrified of voiding my warranty.
Hey Skkons4. Thats the great thing, these WILL NOT void warranty. They are tried and true for multple years on the C8 platform so there are no worries of that. I definitely recommend them! Just make sure to use my Discount Code when you order and save yourself alittle money 😉
Hi I have a question about your carbon fiber Hood I ordered the same one, from OEM but everything around the edges is terrible quality is it the same on yours ??
Loving the content, but how is this not voiding warranty? Seems like a direct modification to the powertrain changing Air/Fuel ratios like high flow cats
Don’t you think if a slightly larger throttle body would make any hp or performance difference that GM would have designed the LT6 that way? The reason Solar doesn’t advertise hp gains is because they are very minimal, if any… then how could they justify the cost? Hope you don’t have any engine issues that need factory warranty… who says it won’t void the factory warranty… Solar or GM? Just like the pedal booster, you gain zero hp or performance… only difference is how far you press the pedal. But, to each their own.
Tadge gives many reasons why aftermarket can often add more benefits and gains than MFG can. First off this car is a global car having to meet global emissions not just US. Then there are MPG and CAFE considerations, on and on. At Soler we do not quote HP gains, we prefer to let our customers do the talking. Customers have shared HP and Torque gains of 15hp bone stock with just 87mm TB’s added. Others have shared 40hp gains with other mods added. Just Google, not hard to find videos. Btw, it’s not just HP gains, as Carlos explains well! Your analogy is like saying “if this engine could have made more HP, chevy would have added giant twin turbos”! Oh they did, called it the ZR1. 😊
Brandon’s Garage video got 15 RWHP and 15 Torque on the 87’s! Btw it’s not the HP it’s the improvement to low and mid range torque you gain, car also loses that Corvette flat spot off idle. 👍
Bro respectfully i just think that's a bad idea. The C8 Zo6 is an amazing new platform and the quirks always take time to workout. The throttle body mod gives very marginal performance without upgrading other areas. My guy you just need a tune or possible gearing adjustments. But I feel everyone is overreacting to the nurburgring times. People have to understand look at those cars on that sub 7 list, there freekin super expensive and the fact a oem vette, a form factor quasi built car, is incredible. If a person is tracking i get it.. ut for street driving the z06 has more than enough power to pass in mid band. Now if your saying I want to turn it into drag or track weapon..got it..but for daily it's freekin fast. But to possibly void a warranty on a new platform..not I said the cat..lol Good video.
I've had aftermarket throttle bodys.. snap the plate shaft and result in blown headgaskets after my throttle got stuck wide open.. not on a vette and not this brand..but the 91mm that is shown.. only shows the shaft on one side.. like u state.. I'm thinking for what performance that may be obtained it may not be worth, what could happen. Besides.. a flatplane crank motor is designed to make power at top rpm.. wound up is where it likes to be.. kind of difficult to drive that way on public roads.. but if u want big block low end torque and power at lower rpms.. get a cross plane crank vette.

Thanks bro much appreciated! Yeah I'm so loving this product! I cant wait to share the throttle controller too!

@ for sure.
The biggest reason to get a Z06 is the sound alone but to add performance and better tones thru the entire power band is a WIN WIN!!!!
Agreed the TB's will do that!
Exciting product! Look forward to more feedback 👍
Thanks man!
Carlos
Thank you. I do plan to put this on my Z06. I will now wait for the 91mm.
I also plan to add the eventurri air intake
Did you get a CEL?
91mm coming soon!!
The 91MM Throttle body is available now if you havent ordered yet! Dont forget to use the "NuHorizon" discount code! 😎👍
Great Video that new 91 mm with a eventuri intake would be insane
to my knowledge no one has Dyno proven the combination of TB & Eventuri create anymore power then just one or the other individually.
Thanks man and right!? A cold air intake is going to be in my future for sure!

@ had it done in the field at Carlisle in under 5 minutes

I'm thinking a bit ahead... What's the response going to be for the upcoming ZR1... How do you get the outside rear camera to rotate?

Magnuson act allows aftermarket parts. Mfg has to prove that any issue was as a direct result of a non factory part. Vehicle has a throttle body.
So is warranty voided with this?

Will it pass emissions
Hey Brook. Yup these will pass emissions no problem!
Any dyno info out there on just changing the throttle body alone
Customers of Soler have reported 25-40HP at WOT- low and mid range band is the real pull factor you gain and lag gone!
800.00 my God 2 hp gain

Aside from anecdotal "butt dyno" results, does anyone have a real dyno results showing if it actually does anything.
