    So true! The interval of a 6th is the most beautiful interval! Great advice! Play the melody in 6th and right away the song becomes so much more beautiful, full and harmonious.

    I learned how to play in C major/A minor, like everyone else. F major and D major became my go to after that. Now I’m experimenting with E flat major but I still love F major. F Sharp minor is next on the list to conquer.

    Sixths are lovely and fun! You mentioned "major sixths" (9 semitones)--yet you played "A"/"F" which is a "minor sixth" (8 semitones)! If "A" was played as a major sixth it would require the "F" to be sharp, and an "F" sharp would not sound right as it is not in the key of F (diatonic). Perhaps you might mention this "minor sixth" exception to playing "major sixths" in major and minor keys? If a beginner tries to play only major sixths in a harmonized melody, and doesn't know when a minor sixth is called for, then some beginners might not sound as good as they might and not know why! Hope this helps someone! E.C.

    • @charlieharpman2107
      @charlieharpman2107 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, noticed the same thing, meaning some are not 9 semitones apart( major 6th) other than that, it is a great lesson to practice with.

      If you're a beginner it's easier to play Canon in C. If you try that, the chords are C, G, Am, Em, F, C, F, G. I play it in C all the time and most people you play for will never know the difference.
