Ahhhhhh Zagara, my favourite commander. So, here's how I play this one: I always start with an extractor on 9 supply followed by a spawning pool. That way you get 50 gas quickly to get fast baneling nest. For maps with uncontested expansions, I go up to 10 supply of drones then make 2 sets of Zerglings, an overlord and a set of drones. When I have gas I get my bane nest for free Banelings. Zagara can defend the first attack wave on any map with her banelings, especially once you get lv14. After I have the nest and my expansion, I quickly get lair and start Zergling/Baneling upgrades. My favourite comp is pure ling bane scourge with all upgrades, though I mix in Abberations for maps with lots of armored ground units. Zagara's army can really tear through just about anything, and she can easily cheese air objectives by spamming scourge and flying into them. Her only real weakness is a larva deficiency and a vulnerability to splash damage. IMO she has the best anti-air in the game, Scourge rarely leave anything flying. Talking prestiges, P1 is great, though the lack of Zagara as a hero really makes pushing into defenses a challenge, P2 is very strong, though it changes the starting build order and takes a lot longer to max out, and P3 turns the game into "how many things can you kill with Zagara before the game ends?" P2 Aberrations and Corruptors are ridiculously durable, I've often ended games with a 5k 5k bank while maxed out because they just dont die, while normally I just play Zerg Swarmy with Zagara because her Banelings kill almost everything while Zerglings mop up. Mass Frenzy might be the best offensive spell in the game, giving both you and your ally' units 50% movement AND attack speed? Stupid. P3 Zagara being able to deep tunnel lets her cheese objectives and provide vision for her ally's topbars while also intercepting waves by herself and having an honour guard of 6 Hunter-Killers at all times. P1 Zagara on the other hand usually has 32 Banelings out before the first objective even spawns on most maps and has so many free units that you'll never feel like you need to make Banelings or scourge yourself. The only thing I find annoying about P1 is no double upgrades for air because Scourge Nest now spawns free units, so if you want Corruptors you have to choose between armour and attack. BTW, Corruptor acid spray really helps Banelings and Scourge do their job, letting 7 Banelings do what 10 Banelings would've had to do. I have more to say bit this comment is too long already. Hope you all have fun playing Zagara, as much as I did!
First off, I am so thankful that you put this much time and care into a comment. I'm so glad that I am posting videos to see this raw passion for anything really. I noticed that the popular use of Zagara among the community is to just make suicide units only instead of mass zerglings or aberrations. My question is do they still have a place on her kit, or should I just make suicide units only?
@@ToxicSpilll Zerglings are actually the unit I make the most of. Usually I only make Banelings if I run out of free ones, Zerglings with all upgrades are extremely strong and very cheap. Aberrations are hilariously overpowered vs Terran mech comps and Hybrids, their dps vs Armored units, especially with max upgrades and Frenzy, is insane. They also can save your zerglings from splash damage with their Protective Cover upgrade, halving the damage they take from all sources, even spells like storm and fungal. P2 lets you mass Aberrations like a madman. They can also walk over small units, which is useful as it means they aren't blocked by your ally's units or your own. Zerglings get much better with Mastery points, as you can give them a chance to evade all attacks. TL;DR: Zerglings are a core unit that you should make every game and Aberrations are good anti armor support and tank for your other ground units.
A couple of things that could make it better for the first game: 1. no need for 3 hives, just one is enough to unlock the necessary upgrades 2. make some scourges instead of all corruptors, they can be upgraded to deal area damage 3. mix in some aberrations and banelings instead of all zerglings, aberration is more durable, does better damage to armored, baneling deals area damage.
So, if I understand this correctly. When dealing with air troops, make mass scourges and when dealing with armour, make mass zerglings, banelings and aberations?
get p1, check enemy composition, choose either banelings or scourges (make sure to be at least lvl 7 to unlock the free production) and win the match... her playstyle isn't much variable anyways. You should also make sure to have at least 3 hatcheries and queens to build up a second army after your first committed suicide. P3 is fun too tho, surely more than normal zagara. P2 on the other hand priorities the weakest of zagara's troops and is too slow to build
@@ToxicSpilll its probably not bad, just boring and hard to be efficient with, since corruptors are air only and aber are ground only, which means double upgrades
@@ToxicSpilll you have 1 thing less to worry about. If you use bombers the frenzy is pointless anyway. Just make an army and a move to the objective. The only problem is building banelings.
After seeing the title I was about to call 911 because clearly someone has kidnapped you and replaced you with a doppelganger. But nah, it was just Zerg-ara things.
@@ToxicSpilll in seriousness tho, I try to play Zagara with an early game economy focus and get out some zerglings as fast as I can to counter early attack waves. Once I've gotten my expansion up and populated (which is ridiculously fast due to her spawn speed and double drone production) I'll have a backbone of Aberrations and Corruptors to support the squishier zergling/baneling/scourge squad. I say "try to" because I've only gotten her to level 6 and for the past month whenever I join random queue, my teammate will see me playing Zagara at a low level and just leave, haha.

Thank you
You have to tried the adrenalin that is having 70 supply worth of baneling and attack move them into enemy defence
It's a treat !
Indeed it is, just make sure you have the resources and larva to replace.
3-5 hatcheries, 2-3 queens each doing SL, convert just under half to banelings, keep your HK spawn ready often.
Rinse, repeat, DOMINATE!!!
And spam that frenzy
Ah yes, the Queen of Bombing. Banelings all the way.
