🙌🙏 you are relentless to sort it out mate! When I saw 3/4 o ring I am pretty confident thats the case. Hopefully issue is solved 🤞😊

When I did my oil filter housing gasket last month, I disconnected this hose for easier access to one of the bolts. I noticed similar degradation in the plastic connector. Thanks for the link, I'll need go back in there to replace this.

Well done mate, you have shown great resilience for not giving up as it was a difficult issue of tracing back to the source of the coolant leak, after all this time, effort and money spent it must be well worth it and the self-satisfaction. You can sleep well now!

Had this exact problem two days before we wanted to visit the family for Christmas because I was doing the oil cooler gasket... replace it now and save yourself some headache. Also, the aluminum one looks so sexy compared to the plastic OEM part. Great video!

Thanks again for a great money saving educational video! My e92 n52 330i had a leaky oil cooler gasket which I think has hastened the leak here so need to order the flange kit. Didn’t fancy replacing the whole hose as the bottom end vanishes into the darkness 😮

    • @davelloyds7190

Replaced mine last weekend. It was a snug fit to say the least and needed plenty of grease on the o ring and inside. Managed to push it in manually eventually. Be careful tightening the bolts without getting it started top and bottom as that could squeeze and split the o ring on the bottom edge. The bleeding procedure worked but killed the battery so had to jump start. All fine now with no leaks. Until the next job !

Good informative vid again. I think its likely the issue and makes sense from where the water has been leaking from.

Great video George, Replaced the same coolant flange on my 335i (n54) last summer. I like we had the same approach to using a dremel to remove the old clamp😂Mine was broken in two when I removed it, wasn't leaking though just changed it for peace of mind

I had the same issue. When updated the oil cooler gaskets I done this at the same time, however I could only get it with the hose aswell which I was told was a pain in the ass to fit, so anyone wanting to do this I would recommend do it the way you have just seen.

Ah, the mouse ears flange. Replaced mine on the e89 with the aluminum pry from FCPEuro for about $17usd. Good video, George. And, btw, my rabbit finally left the garage this morning after days inside. But seriously y’all, replace this flange preemptively before it leaves you stranded.

That flange is rubbish! Was doing my oil filter housing gaskets, gently removed the flange to get access and it literally crumbled, grounded the car for almost a week until the new metal flange came in the post, thanks god people realised the market potential of this.
