Destabilizing Rounds Might End Up Being The Best Choir of One Catalyst
Вставка

- I am not a fan of straight destabilizing rounds, HOWEVER, Choir Of One is perfect for it. In this video i talk Abou the two catalyst for it currently. The recent nerf of it makes onslaught a little less appealing. When you add in destabilizing rounds to exotics and subclasses, you see the fluid synergy.

Thoughts on the reserve nerf and how are you liking destabilizing?
The reserve nerf hurts my perception of the weapon more than the weapon itself. Like it's still good of course but it doesn't *feel* good when bungie releases something and then *immediately* makes it worse. I get the reserves were unintentional but it just feels like a twist of the knife, a kick while I'm down that I didn't really need.
No issue with reserve changes. I dig destab, playing with gyrfalcons feels off without it. Think hipfire is off not letting volatile proc.
Reserve nerf doesn't really mean much to me, since I mainly use it ADS like a scout. If it had come out with the intended numbers, no one would have bat an eye, I think.
I think the people who were banking on onslaught being their favorite refit option might actually notice it, but I'm probably going to avoid that. Destabilizing is just free value in comparison!
Still plenty of ammo, I use this thing as a primary with another special weapon purely for utility with no reserve mods, missing 50 ammo ain't gonna kill this weapon for me, neither would only having a total of 125-150 with not reserve mods.
@@TeamTechSkaters what do you mean, Gyrfalcon doesn't need Destabilizing Rounds, it gets Volatile all by itself and without killing anything 0_o
I wish they'd get rid of the internal cooldown on destabilizing rounds. Between that and the inconsistent spread of the volatile, it makes me not like to use it.
💯
I wish I knew when that even became a thing. I dont recall it being a thing when I was using it last year
It was bc of weird multi-procs with machine guns. Instead of eliminating the cooldown they could make it like .5sec and it’s be a nice balanced buff
Agreed! Making it function like a Void reskin of Incandescent would make it more consistent and desirable as a buildcrafting perk.
Felwinter’s is an amazing pick with this thing. It’s synergistic with special finisher so when the reserve nerf comes you won’t even notice it.
One button press and a better exotic is way more synergistic with special finisher, though.
I'm very pleasantly surprised by how conservative their first pass at tuning Choir is going to be. And they ARE looking at its hip-fire damage, specifically with regard to Divinity. But, that wasn't a surprise. I'm very glad it's going to be a meaningful choice for the foreseeable future :D
when you start thinking of Choir of One as a special ammo scout it will make more sense
ah shit, I've been thinking about it as an AA-12 shotgun
@@SailorJerry7030 typical destiny brain rot..
@@SailorJerry7030it both
Hmm, I disagree. I think its similar to Ergo Sum, in that Ergo Sum is a special ammo sword. But Choir of One is a special ammo machine gun.
@@agelesseonit’s a Auto Rifle
I’m currently not playing Destiny but I always enjoy hearing your thoughts and build ideas.
it's like a special ammo version of graviton with destabilizing rounds, loving it
But graviton is way better by not having to rely on Spec ammo.
I've been running choir of one in double special with the call and facet of bravery for volatile/ unravel, including weaken grenades. I keep up special ammo with stacks on stacks, charged up and special ammo finisher. Machine gun (Big fan of Brave Hammerhead with envious/ killing tally, or Pro Memoria with demo/ bait and switch) in heavy slot in case you run out of special
Hammerhead is wish commemoration
It’s so weird that destabilizing rounds has a cooldown but voltshot and incandescent do not
I mean it is stronger than incandescent, but I get the volt shot. Makes no sense. I get it would make graviton lance shine less if you could just constant proc it on other void weapons and get the same results. Idk my opinion lol
Reserve nerf is perfectly reasonable. Any weapon in Destiny, used skillfully (AS EVERYONE SHOULD BE DOING WITH EVERY WEAPON), shouldn't need much ammo. Destabilizing rounds helps save ammo, if anything.
🤓
Yeah tbh this nerf will not effect me much, as i instinctively play very conservative with special ammo anyway lol
Lmao. You’re a trip
🤓
Ya u for sure get bullied
Hoping we get more special autos down the road. I think it's becoming my favorite weapon type and we only have Choir.
I'm kind of shocked the healing gun wasn't special ammo.
I would like to see a special scout rifle but that would prob be redundant with rapid fire snipers. Maybe a low zoom rds sniper
Something I love about Final Shape is how it's allowed me to use Exotics that I either haven't touched in a long time or never even considered using at all. I never would have thought of using freaking FOETRACER, for example, and the last time I used Doom Fang was when Witch Queen launched!
Bungie looked at the data from the craftening and cooked this,
Wonder what blessing of the blades will give us
I feel like destabilizing rounds should be intrinsic on the exotic and then have repulse brace as the choose your own catalyst perk, it makes sense for the weapons fantasy but it also encourages people to aim down sights mostly and then use the hip fire to take care of large groups or beefy enemies.
While prismatic is really powerful (think radiant, easy overshield, exotic class items, etc), as a hunter I simply prefer devour for the insane survivability, which sadly I cannot access on prismatic. I found void hunter to just pair incredibly well. Devour will save you so well, because you just shred through enemies (no matter the size). Also, using the gyrfalcon exotic as opposed to spirit of gyrfalcon also pairs well, since you will be doing a lot of special finishers, not only will you get the occasional void overshields and the autorifle resists (from the artifact), you will also get a reserve overshield from gyrfalcon finisher. This also buffs your weapon damage!
One thing to note is with a base 21 reload flared magwell is a 12-13% faster reload at all times, alloy mag is only 15% at empty. With triple loader mods you're only looking at a difference of roughly 0.07 seconds in reload, in favor of alloy magazine. With lunafactions + loaders however, because of it giving +100 reload and a 0.90 scalar, there's a difference of 0.14 seconds, or roughly 14.7% in favor of alloy magazine.
Onslaught also applies a scalar. So what would that amount to? What would be your recommended pairings?
@Revadike Outside of scenarios where you have something like dragons shadow/lunafactions boosting base reload, just run flared over alloy since the difference is minimal and it also gives stability.
- On the topic of onslaught, it doesn't apply a scalar, it adds flat reload being 15/25/35 respectively. Disregarding loader mods, Choir with flared will hit 71 reload, giving it a base 1.52 reload. With alloy instead, it will have 56 reload with a 0.85 scalar being a 1.46 reload. Choir overall is good with anything except destabilizing rounds, which is mostly redundant unless you're a void titan, or like explosions.
- For exotic pairings: class item wise gyrfalcon/foetracer hunter is undoubtably the best, eternal warrior/scars for titan, and stag/starfire (this is sleeper synergy), or osmiomancy/verity for warlock. Normal exotics you have gyrfalcon's hauberk, nezarec's sin, and actium war rig. All of these either build directly into the gun, help it synergize, or both.
Reverse nerf is fine imo; however, it does make me scratch my head when rocket sidearms are so good for ammo. Either way won't kill the viability of Choir of One. Just encourages smarter use of ads and hip fire modes.
Destab Rounds are the play imo even after the artifact goes away next Episode. I honestly won't even bother with Onslaught cause it'll be harder to manage ammo. I think Destab just needs a buff to me closer inline with Voltshot and Incand.
I appreciate your explanations and how they cater to each class. Subscribed 🎉
Mantle of Battle Harmony is a lot of fun on prismatic with this.
Consider this Coolguy; with subsistence, don’t focus on ADS or hip fire solely. Swap back and forth fluid to change from short to mid range. It’s REALLY good. You know from my history, I am a long time AR main. Very good, the artifact perk can’t keep up
I;m loving it with Destable rounds!! I'll still be getting Onslaught, and I'll try it, but I feel like it'll make you burn thru ammo too quickly!! Yes it does give a reload boost though
I plan on using Gyrfalcons/Onslaught
My biggest gripe with foetracer, is that it only works for bosses and minibosses. :(
It's just not worth it, when you can already have weapon surges from just mods.
I've been using the same Foetracer and Verity combo on hunter and feeling pretty good about it. Love the loop there.
Same, I grabbed mine out of the vault and it slaps with Choir. Unreal the ad clear and single target burst DPS.
If the reserves was the issue that caused it to need to be nerfed I really wished they had just nerfed how much extra reserves it gave instead of taking away a fifth of its ammunition.
I forgot Scars was on Stoicism! 😮 I now very much want Eternal Warrior and Scars
I've been hunting for that exact roll for my Exotic Titan Mark, but to no avail 😭
However, my choice of Stoicism is with Severance + Scars, so my Prismatic Consecration + Knockout (via Frenzied Blade melee x3) is fantastic for health and massive solar + arc chain-damage; plus, Consecration second slam is great for stunning Unstoppable Champions!
Fingers crossed that we get the Eternal Warrior + Scars roll in the near future 🤞🏽
If I had to guess, I'd guess that destablizing rounds will be better for add clear, and onslaught will be better for damage. With onslaught x3, this thing is going to be 4th horseman on crack with the reload buff. It's probably going to be the highest burst damage special in the game. I'm probably going to be crafting both rolls.
I do like destablizing the most, especially on titan with controlled demo. I also have a feeling that controled demo and destablizing rounds will be getting some sort of buff soon.
I know doom fang is best but i am an AWR stan so had to use it with this auto(also hoping for an AWR buff too). Just feels good, paired with a bait and switch HMG and my succession with discord redirection and i got lots of damage
On Warlock I use Verity on Void with a handheld Supernova setup. Very fun.
This gun seems to proc Devour on my warlock. Getting a kill which spreads volatile to a bunch of ads, then killing one of those so the volatile explosion kills the rest seems to count as an ability kill.
I wish you would share your full builds 😔
Love the way you explained it
This is what I been telling my homies
all the buffs plus fragment
Plus aspects it’s nutssss
Bonus damage to darkness rebuffed targets with your light weapons
Hope you're doing alright coolguy
Yeah onslaught just makes the ammo depletion a bit harder to manage. Subsistence is nice, but if you are using this weapon correctly, you shouldn't be reloading a ton, and reloading shouldn't be a pain point for the weapon. Destabilizing rounds just allows for more subclass synergy which is honestly better imo, sure destabilizing rounds is worse than incan or voltshot, but it's better than the other two catalysts.
The only thing that makes it “worse” is because it doesnt tie into anti-champ plus its upper ceiling in damage is tied to how many adds get hit by each Destab proc vs Voltshot/Incan which is more about how often and fast youre killing.
But remember: Volatile explosions do more damage than incan, jolt, chain reaction, and dragonfly. It only takes 4 volatile explosions to equal the damage of an Ignition.
Pure damage numbers it packs a punch.
I’ve been using special ammo finisher, takes 3 orbs of power for special ammo, with the artifact you can hold 6 charges easily with room on the boots
Also prioritizing stability and reload, though I went with flared magwell. Might have to give alloy mag a shot.
Still excited about the eventual Mataiodoxia build!
Thats crazy to me that they buff special reserves then release choir just to nerf it
love your content and keep it up and keep getting better
but I do have a quick question for you, what do you recommend for lost signal (pve)?
Purple Particle Effects FTW
Oh yeah I'm loving this perk
I can't believe you didnt talk about the obvious gyrfalcon synergy with Choir, lol. Maybe it makes more sense with onslaught.
All i heard was gyrfalcons or class item with Spirit of gyrfalcons is gonna be broken. Lol. I have my hunter class item that has Spirit of foetracer and gyrfalcons. Is this class item good?
Doomfangs, Doomfangs, Doomfangs!!
I told you guys! You didnt listen! Now here we are.
I never know what primary to pair with this
It's a sniper. A scout. An auto riffle. A shotgun. It's stupid. Enjoy while we can.
Your funny..”you can do it” for expert runs…me …expert …solo? 😂😂 🤙🏽
Fireteam Finder. It's what I've done for my Expert Runs. No comms needed.
Once we lose the artifact perks i think subsistence will be better
Ive unlocked both catalyst but i dont think i could change the magazine 😢.
Gyrfalcon and this are so fun
So is this kind of like another graviton Lance but in auto rifle form???
since my build uses the fragment that gives volatile rounds for free on nade kills which i get often, and with targeting autoloader for the rest of the episode, i'm leaning towards onslaught, although with how that will chew through ammo especially next episode with less reserves, i might end up with subsistence anyway, destabilising still feels like a dud perk when the fragments that give volatile are so much better because of the accessibility of nades and the cooldown it has
also the vex pools "origin trait" sometimes feels like volatile, i've had it explode out with purple when i haven't gotten a nade kill and gotten so confused only to see the vex milk and realise that part of the perk is nicer than i realised
I still need people to do the catalyst runs with...
It is extremely easy to solo, assuming you have done 1 legendary run last week.
Expert run is retroactive (meaning you only need to do it once and all the catalyst quest will mark it as completed). Go do an LFG and it will be done in around 15 mins
I'm just gonna wait until everything is out for it, then I'll play more destiny. I've been enjoying Starfield
You got a dim link for void titan with this bud?
Sorry if missed you saying this, I listen while I drive. But destabilizing rounds can proc devour on prismatic warlock. So free and easy
Solo'd all missions and the cattlyst quest and nothing dropped from the chest....
Yeah I feel totally burnt and have no intention to replay the mission.
If you’ve done the catalyst quests, talk to banshee if you didn’t pick those quests up, you should get the catalysts from just talking to him now
Talk to banshee
Just need to complete expert once and then run the puzzles on normal. LFG standard
i think Repulsor Brace should be a catalyst
Spamming ADS quickly prior to shooting from the hip allows you to get more shots off with free ammo.
Yup I didn’t realize how much I hip fire in lower tier content until using this thing. Had to start quick scoping for ammo economy.
i get its an auto... but grav lance is better....
Jackson Christopher Wilson Sandra Garcia Donald
I have done the whole weapon solo as well
doom fangs is goated lol i been rockin it with axes
only on actual void class
I kept Subsistence, for 2 reasons: 1. I value consistency above all else (hence never using Elemental Capacitor), so unless I need the DPS boost in a Raid/Dungeon/GM, I refuse to use the major power-boosting Artifact mods, because they are going to go away. And 2. I pretty much only play Warlock, and I can perma-upkeep Devour and Destabilising Rounds via my class if I so desire (and until Prismatic, my go-to build was a Nezarec's Sin Le Monarch Destabilising Poison build for exactly that).
big agree on the artifact part, i dont mind using the big passive benefits like snipers meditation or transference but unique effects like the auto rifle perks and shock & awe are a no go because i know any builds i make with them are on a time limit
I make builds and play with them without the artifact perks first to confirm viability. Once I confirm that it works and has that fun factor I add the artifact in.
It’s a bug, therefore it was going to get patched sooner than later. Should’ve expected this, especially for a weapon with pretty insane total damage
No need to be so dramatic about it
That's the problem, we shouldn't have expected it. Bungie should have released the weapon the way it was meant to be and bug free. But they can't help but screw up every time. We should expect better.
@@FrostReach66 see the last sentence
@@bigpapapewpew shit goes wrong and that’s just how it is in game development. It’s just some reserves and the actual damage of the gun isn’t changing
Hot take: it's better without the first 2 catalysts
Destabilizing rounds it great with the artifact, but when it disappears it’ll be between subsistence and destab for me.
Honestly I think the 3rd Caty might be the play
@@jamesford871 explain. I think it’ll chew thru ammo fast. Especially when they make mag size changes next episode.
I low-keyhate guides recommending things in the Artifact; like yeah, Targeting Autoloader makes Subsistence unnecessary, but that mod goes away in 4 weeks. Same with any guide that discounts Envious Assassin on reprised Saint weapons because that Artifact mod that allows the Origin Trait to overflow the mag.
@@brandonsmisek6334 if your mag dumping into a boss does the ammo count really matter
@@brandonsmisek6334 plus you can craft 2 with different catalysts for different purposes
Cerberus+1 thank me later guys.
Keep the game in check? It's on its way out, just keep the stats where it is. D2 is in its death throws.
I'm sure that must make you SO happy...
But...destabilising kinda suck.
Artifact mods are BS. Not a fan of any build craft with them. Maybe it’s me. Cool. But I hate the artifact
Well it forces you to constantly change up your builds even rendering some builds useless once the season is over
@@marshallman402 to be fair most build just don't care about artefact and are still viable without them. with the right build artefact are just a "upgrade" that help a bit more
Funny enough, I don't use the Artifacts outside of specific endgame content and champion mods.
I've always seen the Artifacts the same way as ordering pizza with toppings. Sometimes, there's some good options, and sometimes just plain cheese pizza is all you need.
Maybe not a good analogy, but everyone has their choice to use or not to use. I like hearing everyone's opinions on them.
Cool weapon. Just not sure why it came out NOW..game's dead. Everybody quit playing- i mean there's no more raids EVER..This woulda been cool 2 YEARS AGO.
Do you have anything else to add to this discussion outside of the same tired-aas copy-past, "WAAAAAAH! THE GAME'S DEAD! WAAAAAAAH!" Like, Jesus Fuck, STOP WATCHING VIDEOS IF SEEING OTHERS TALK ABOUT THE GAME UPSETS YOU THAT MUCH! DAMN!
I’m surprised he is still making these videos. The game has no future and is dead. But I guess when you have no other income and no other skills then making videos. You options are low.
