That’s Paul Ellering? Damn he was a Road Warrior before Hawk and Animal

Yeah, injuries really did him in so he became a manager.

Yeah he was really put together! Too bad that he got injured or he would've fit right in with the Road Warriors and Nikita Koloff and Krusher Kruschev, all monsters!

Definitely wasn’t 500lbs bench. Looks like 315lbs for 10 on the squat.

I think Ellering is one of those guys who has fallen through the cracks among old wrestling fans. Amazing video. My back STILL hurting after watching his back during that 735(?) dead lift.

Hard to believe Paul was a powerlifter. He looked like a 90lb weaking next Hawk and Animal. Tells you how huge they were if they can make Paul looked like a guy who never picked up a weight.

His heavy training days as well as his in ring career were cut short, due to an injury. By the time he was managing Hawk and Animal, a good many of his gains were long gone.

@Kevin Michaud Who are you? So he is new, it's a free country last time I checked. You need to watch your mouth sonny!
Or are you one of those people? You know!

Paul Ellering in his prime would be very close to the strength of Hawk in his prime or mybe just as strong as Mike

Not sure on the other lifts but the deadlift had some dummy plates.

It was always hilarious when someone would be describing their training regimen to Gordon Solie and he would chime in and reveal that he knew next to nothing about weight training. Like when he described Lex Lugar as a "bench press champion".

Yikes, forgot how bad form was back in the day when it came to heavy deadlifts. He no doubt visited snap city a few times in his prime.

I always thought Paul should have been more of a physical force along with the Road Warriors. He didn't do too much in the ring as I recall.
