I have the GMA S2100 - the "mini" that fits my 6.5 inch wrist perfectly. It has a perfect presence for me. I could not be happier. The larger Gshock Casioak felt too big for me to wear everyday. Also it would get in my way at work. As for mini that I have, and its market to appeal to the ladies, men should feel at home too. The black band/octagon bezel are very masculine. The rose gold markers and white hands pop when I glance to check the time. My only complaint is that I do have a hard time seeing the digital date. It is small and dark. I contribute that to my older eyes, lol. Loving my mini Casioak!

Yea that's a good watch, except the rose gold markers. That certainly compromises with the legibility and looks like a ladies watch. I don't understand why they couldn't have made the indices pure white. Edit: I tried the GA2100 and DW-5600 at a store the other day and both are very reasonably sized for small wrists. Mine is 6.7 inches in circumference and both watches looked perfect on my wrist. In videos they look big but on small wrists they are perfect in reality.
On a smaller wrist (6.5-6.75), I think colorways with contrasting bezels help shrink the watch. I got the earthtones in dark blue with gray putty/clay bezel and it really defines the size to the eyes. It doesn't look like 45mm on my wrist, more like 42.5-43. I figured I would just get it because it's inexpensive. With a half expectation of wearing too large. But it works. Maybe not in every colour combo imo, but the Casioak can work on a sub 7 wrist. The bezel really conceals all surrounding bulk. (G-Shocks and/or digital stuff aren't typically my cup of tea..these are just dope). I'm happy to have found a God tier G-Shock that speaks to me. I'd always wanted to want one. It's fun, it's cheap, and it looks great! It's as close as I'll ever come to a smartwatch though 😁
I brought it for my mom, she liked the black one. if she changes her mind and gives it to me, then I'm not sure if I'd wear it given my 6.75 inch wrist.
@@gdwiggy clear at all. You just need to care the watch when you use it. Like remove the watch when you're going to wash your hands, and don't get soap at the watchband, or things like that, every time at night when I remove the watch I clean the watchband with a dry cloth. Because is different material. But mine is clear like new, but I don't use it every day, because I'm afraid the watch get yellow because the sun. That's why I get the black one, and that's the watch that I use all the time, the clear one I use a couple times.
Might be similar to ap oak. But, feels perfect on the wirst with the 40mm dial. I have red color. Will surely buy a grey and black very soon. With all the design and features this model is here to stay.
About that link you gave here for Watchgecko's not the real G-Shock - he clearly didn't read the manual entirely. You can actually see that in his comments section of his blog/review. This watch is good as it gets for analog G-Shocks.
I've had the original G-Shock since the 80s, and the plastic/rubber band didn't get too aged and brittle for almost 35 years. I'll buy the metal one for my son ASAP.
You can make this watch look 5x as expensive by swapping out the resin strap for a metal one. I run a nylon strap with mine and it's super comfortable, lowers the footprint as well.
the model is popular here in malaysia as well. model GA211O that have other colour variation and GM2100 that have a metal bezel, make it quite versatile in gshock community here to collect it. plus a royal guy here wear it too, so that does make it more popular. :)
I was watching a lot of these review videos to see whether I should buy the GA2100. Like many others, I was conflicted - wait for the mini casioak to bring out more colours or go for the all-black, sexy af GA2100, but risk it being too chunky. Just wanted to say for anyone reading this - I just got the GA2100 and it is not as big as I thought it'd be. It's actually very sleek and I am surprised as everywhere on the internet led me to believe that it would be this great monstrosity sitting on my wrist. Of course, if you are a lady or have very small wrists/hands, it may be worth looking at the mini casioak, but I don't have a particularly large wrist and it looks absolutely beautiful on my wrist!

Yeah, my breakthrough into watches was Casio, with the Lineage Multiband series and later ProTrek and G-STEEL. I love solar powered & Multiband (or Bluetooth or GPS). However, since those watches I've become a real watch snob and am intrigued with mechanical movements... the ticking seconds hand is just something that can't be unseen and has become somewhat of a turn-off. Now there are a few Quartz movements without a ticking second hand, the GA2100 is one of those watches that deals with that in an interesting manner (others might use no second indication at all, or use sweeping hand Quartz Seiko VH31). I have the black/white version and bought an original silicon case from the all stealth black one and used it on there. Also acquired the Skeleton version recently. They're cool watches! If they'd give it solar and multiband they'd really be impossible to beat.
I got this watch for $77 and i wear it to work as a mail carrier. It is perfect especially cause my route is in the hood it doesnt look like something you want to steel like my Seiko 5.

I wish the S2100 came in the blue (and other colors) like the standard 2100. I would have gotten the smaller one, but after a month with the blue 2100, the size doesn't bother me at all, it's not noticeably larger-feeling than my trusty 5600E and is now my new never-take-it-off daily driver.

They are more durable than needed for most. Even any model from the Protrek line ist super durable already. So no worries about resistance, unless your are a rock-climber or cave-diver.

I do give them all a go as often as possible depending on the event or whatever I'm wearing however for my work in construction I only wear a Casio F91W. Have done for many years. Light as a feather, small, flat, somehow indistructable, tells time & I don't care if I get crap on it as I just buy another.

I actually have the same size wrist and felt the smaller one was too small, the normal seemed perfect. It might be because I have a rather flat wrist.

Maybe try the GMAP2100. The case is 42mm. Keep in mind that the Rolex Submariner was 40mm and people thought it was big.
