Absolutely fantastic ♥️ I have just ordered my first tufting kit and this video has sooo much information and inspiration, I have just sat and watched every second and am sure I will watch it back again. I am amazed at what can be done. And yes a tear was shed, what a fantastic tribute 😢
Don't know if anyone wants to know this but you can also use black glue sticks for the corners for better hiding the glue marks on the back when you are doing the corners. It's just glue sticks for the glue gun but black instead of transparent.
You guys did an amazing job, not only you for the work you put into it but your mum.and dad for the hands on work and Renee for putting up with you ❤ Great work once again
1:01:08 Not a felting expert but I dabble. Wet felting is dumping soap and water on it and rolling/ almost sculpting it (In layers if its something bigger!) with enough rubbing to connect the fibers (however - I dont know if you CAN felt stuff thats not wool). Thats what I learned in school, no clue how you would get anything hyper detailed but its comparatively way quicker than method 2: Needlefelting. I did it during lockdown and watched videos, some people can do amazing detail with it but its slow. You either use a single needle or a grip with multiple needles to repeatedly stab your work. And those needles are barbed. Its a rare occasion on which I HAVENT stabbed my finger at least once with it and those barbs can be nasty, tho luckily I never stabbed with enough force to cause bad damage, but they hurt more and last longer than sewing needle stabs. I prefer wet but nowadays I mostly use felting in combination with crochet anyway - either needle for eyes bigger than my bought eyes are or secondary wet felting (iE washing it with soap and water) for stuff like slippers
We bought a roll of 10mm thick adhesive foam from Bunnings hardware store. You don’t need an adhesive backing but we are using it because we had it at home. I will probably buy normal foam strips when we need it next time. Or you can use any kind of rubber foam and cut it in strips. This is what the roll of foam is called: Bastion 75mm x 10mm x 25m Adhesive Back Expansion Joint Foam
heyy girl, IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! I got so many good tips and stuff from watching this vid omg. :)) I have a question though... might be a bit out of context. I'm wondering when u sell those rugs right w/ characters and stuff, do u need some sort of permit or permission, or is it fine? Like could those huge companies come at u for making rugs of their characters and selling them? Or can u do whatever u want and sell it with no trouble? Considering doing it myself teehee, :)
as a business owner/artist how do you handle custom rug requests like this... it obviously took you a long time to make... do you get a down payment? Do you have a time-frame estimate you give? What does that process look like?
Great question! I’ll always take either a 50% deposit or the full payment (depending on the customer) before I start the rug. This will give you the ability to buy all the materials needed to get started without going out of pocket. As for time frame estimates, this one took me forever as it wasn’t something I wanted to rush especially since the customer didn’t have a deadline. So in this case I kept a line of communication with her and gave constant updates so they knew it was in production and taking the time I needed to perfect it. In other cases you should ask if the customer has a date they need/want it by and then be honest with them if you can get it done on time. All about communication at the end of the day! 😁

RED BACK RUUUUUGS
Warning on compressed air in humidity climates. You can freeze water onto your parts so be sparing for parts you don't want wet.
Thanks for sharing the great advice ❤

Is the illustrator app the AI or creative?
it’s Adobe Illustrator!

A lot of useless info here. Just get to the content and cut the silly banter.
Not sure how a “free” step by step guide can be classified “useless info” and “silly banter”. Next time maybe watch in 2X view 🤔🫠
clearly you've never watched an in-depth tutorial, for free buddy......
Incredible rug. Incredible video. Well done! 👏🏽🥲
