Hahaha I should have clarified, I knew and know what a 5 series is. I was just so hung up on Omnibus 😂 My good friend has a 5 series BMW ,,, it’s the omnibus word that had me like,,, YO 🔥
The 5 series was everywhere in music in like 2002 so we can forgive you for not immediately connecting that reference, I didn’t either - and I’m only 5 years younger than you.
Fun fact…. The producer for this said that Ghetts heard the beat twice, paced around for 20-30 minutes talking to himself, said ok I’m ready, stepped in the booth and dropped this…. It was literally less than an hour later that this was ready….
In UK we call TV shows series' rather than seasons. Giving a boy the whole omnibus. Omnibus is like the whole series. Next bar is "real EastEnder". EastEnders is a soap/drama in the UK. Nathan Tettey is the Director and Creative Director at Untold Studios. He has ‘shot’ many music videos for big artists such as Ghetts, Dave, Stormzy and others.
“Omnibus” takes on two meanings: Used as an adjective, “omnibus” relates to “many things at once,” for example: bullets from a gun. However, Ghetts also references the ongoing English TV soap opera Eastenders. The show is set in the East end of London, and also has a past of criminal characters. Therefore, the second meaning of “omnibus” in this context is the airing of multiple past episodes of a TV show one after another. Unlike the actors in Eastenders, Ghetts is not pretending to live in East London - he was raised there in Plaistow.

Ghetts is my fav uk grime mc since ages. Not only is he a shaolin master in terms of wordplay, when he decides to up the tempo he raps literally like a machine gun. His energy is unmatched. So in other words, ''A different kind of blind' haha And while we are on Ghetts, on of my other favourites from him is Ghetts - Fire in the Booth pt3 Definitely recommend checking it out!
This was cool. I never heard of Ghetts before but I really enjoyed this. I feel like I'm cheating on Ren if I listen to something other than him but since he recommended it I guess he gave his blessing 😂
I was just looking for Ghetts reactions on youtube & didn't realise it was you, I remember listening to a freestyle you did with Krizz Kaliko & Futuristic way back when I was like 15
A Show called EastEnders was on TV every week day in the UK, the OMNIBUS was on a sunday where they played them all back to back, so you got a series of 5 shows.
So, when Ren says listen to something, it's going to bad ass. I've been dabbling in Rap and Hip Hop since Cool Herc and Grandmaster Flash. Which got me weird looks in the deep south and being a white boy in the 70's. Anyway - Ghetts has amazing cadence the references are just next level. Weaving the rhyme schemes AA BB to ABAB to ABBCCBBA ... calling back to earlier bars Love it.
That is the perfect way to describe it when you said you have to unlock what people say, that's what got me into this music a long time a go & also the beats people use.
Ghetts is one of the best lyricists of all time. Anywhere. I'm like you, an old school hip hop guy. Canibus, Rakim, Pun....you know. These UK guys are on a level. Ghetts, Kano are true rap OGs.
Good job! You caught a lot even with the accent. Ghetts has been my No1 in the U.K. for the last 15years. Please check out Ghetts ‘fire in the booth part 3’
Yessssss!!!! More UK reactions! Ghetts also has a Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth (just like Wretch & Avelino which you reacted to). Try to catch all the bars like Pokemon!
When a man jumps out the 5 series you know its on everyone is tuned in... like when your watching your favourite tv series but in Ghetts's fashion he's giving you the full series all in one go however many episode it is in an instant. Which is why he called it the Omnibus. Like as in giving you the full volume, chapters back to back like binge worthy material. However in this case it can be interpeted as something is about to pop off or go down and whatever happens, happens all at once.
Ghetts is a real OG in the UK ive never heard any rapper like him when he was younger his flow was insane he's matured into a new flow that he owns now, he came up with Skepta & wretch 32 etc
"Take the pagan's belly, shoot man like Nathan Tettey": Man's talkin' about handling a hater or enemy, "pagan" here referring to someone who's not on your side. "Shoot man like Nathan Tettey" could be a double entendre - Nathan Tettey is a footballer known for his shots on goal, so he could be using this as a metaphor for taking a shot at his rivals. "Real eastender, no pretender": Simple one here, he's an original from the East End of London. He's not pretending, he's the real deal. "Violate Jan and it's corn by Feb'ry": This is basically a warning - mess with him in January (Jan), and you'll get the "corn" (bullets) in February (Feb'ry). He's saying he's not one to mess around with, you know? "For an MC, I'm way too skengly": He's an MC alright, but he's "skengly", meaning he's armed and ready. It's not typical for an MC, but he's not your typical MC. "You see, them man are like UA-cam verbal niggas": He's saying those guys are just talkers, probably only tough on the internet, on UA-cam. They're all talk, no action. "Internet, I ain't into it/I read between lines of intellect": Unlike the previous line's guys, he doesn't waste his time on the internet. He's more about reading between the lines, understanding the deeper meanings. "I'm from a different time/Book of Eli, I go different blind": This is like saying he's from a different era, his outlook is different. "Book of Eli" reference here suggests he might be blind to some things but sees other things much clearer, just like Eli in the film. "I told man, "Don't take it personal"/The bally's in reach, the jacket's reversible": He's saying don't take his actions personally. He's got a balaclava ("bally") ready, and he can change up (like a reversible jacket), depending on the situation. "I don't care who you know, I got Dhalsim reach": Dhalsim from Street Fighter can stretch his arms to punch his opponents from a distance. He's saying it doesn't matter who you are or who you know, he's got that reach - he can get to you. "I ain't gotta shout, just speak/You can scream your name in a well, my guy, and you still wouldn't sound this deep": He doesn't need to shout or scream to be heard or to make an impact. Even if you're shouting your name into a well (which makes your voice echo), you won't be as profound or impactful as him.

In the Bible, Eli is blind physically but also spiritually, as he lost his connection to God. Ghetts is religious so this is another double.
Its puzzling how much i enjoy deciphering 😊
gheets - the kings speech
must watch/listen 💯🔥
This was cool. I never heard of Ghetts before but I really enjoyed this.
I feel like I'm cheating on Ren if I listen to something other than him but since he recommended it I guess he gave his blessing 😂
Hahahaha I know what you mean but I always listen to his recommendations!
that is so funnny...but i feel you
@@RENSPIGBUTCHER sorry but once you go down the ghetto rabbit hole he can only be your main piece. Ren will understand 🤣🤣
@@RENSPIGBUTCHER you know how deep it goes then 😂
Lowkey fire in the booth one and two, Legendary
I was just looking for Ghetts reactions on youtube & didn't realise it was you, I remember listening to a freestyle you did with Krizz Kaliko & Futuristic way back when I was like 15
The burner and surgeon lines are about cutting and slingin dope
A Show called EastEnders was on TV every week day in the UK, the OMNIBUS was on a sunday where they played them all back to back, so you got a series of 5 shows.
Grime is wild. I love it when I hear it but I have no fuckin' clue what they're on about 80% of the time.
So, when Ren says listen to something, it's going to bad ass.
I've been dabbling in Rap and Hip Hop since Cool Herc and Grandmaster Flash. Which got me weird looks in the deep south and being a white boy in the 70's. Anyway -
Ghetts has amazing cadence the references are just next level. Weaving the rhyme schemes AA BB to ABAB to ABBCCBBA ... calling back to earlier bars
Love it.
Actual poetry
That is the perfect way to describe it when you said you have to unlock what people say, that's what got me into this music a long time a go & also the beats people use.
Its an alienation 🚀 🪐🇺🇸
Ghetts is one of the best lyricists of all time. Anywhere. I'm like you, an old school hip hop guy. Canibus, Rakim, Pun....you know. These UK guys are on a level. Ghetts, Kano are true rap OGs.
Good job! You caught a lot even with the accent. Ghetts has been my No1 in the U.K. for the last 15years.
Please check out Ghetts ‘fire in the booth part 3’
Big up Ren and big up yourself for listening to him! Ghetts top 2 uk artists 💯
We still need that fire in the booth 3 as well as many of his other tracks that he has spit over the last f****** forever 😅
I love RAPs with a accent soo dope 🎶😉🎤✌🏽
Mic Righteous is amazing on his FITB, so is Akala ❤
Ghetts is a lyrical samurai and OG from the Grime scene.. He rides this beat like a monster💯👊👊👊
An omnibus is also when a whole series of a show gets shown on tv at back to back
You did Akala FITB1, but part 4 is the one you need to react to.
💯💯💯
Yessssss!!!! More UK reactions! Ghetts also has a Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth (just like Wretch & Avelino which you reacted to). Try to catch all the bars like Pokemon!
Love Daily Duppy. Great stuff.
I’m glad you listened to this tune 👌
ok i made it to the end of the video 30 mins later. Great reaction!
This is awesome!!! He seriously Rocks!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Ghetts is world class enjoy the ride. Have you don’t akala fire in the booth part 1? If not that’s a true history lesson right there. Enjoy
Ghetts is a real OG in the UK ive never heard any rapper like him when he was younger his flow was insane he's matured into a new flow that he owns now, he came up with Skepta & wretch 32 etc
I cannot wait to see you go down a Ghetts rabbit hole after watching this and know you are a rapper yourself 😁
Enjoyed this one too! Dang!
Ghetts is honestly one of the best rappers in the world!! Facts!!!
hahaha, im excited to watch this reaction....
Hi Black Pegasus. Love the channel! Could I suggest mic Righteous fire in the booth 4 please! Thanks
It’s a sick bar, “jump out the 5 series giving the boys the whole omnibus” the 5 series is obvs the BMW but at the same time in a different context the “5 series” is the omnibus, that’s deep man
Eastenders omnibus. It's a daily show we have in UK and they play all the weeks episodes on the weekend and call it the 'omnibus' crazy bar.
Genesis Elijah needs some love too. He's been grinding 20 yrs an never seems too blow outside of the uk hip hop scene.
