I've got a friend who once had a Burgman 659. At the time I had a 1900cc Yamaha. One day he got the jump on me and from 0 to 90mph I kept up with him, but couldn't pass. Finally at 90 mph I got around him. I now own a HD Tri-Gide and hate it. They ride like a dump truck, so I am now looking at scooters. I haven't looked at scooters in the past because of my ego. But now that I'm 70 it's time to swallow my ego and buy something that gives me a smooth ride. Hell-o scooter world.
Look at it this way whatever keeps you on 2 wheels and wind on your face is the way to go do what is comfortable to you
Greetings! I’m here in North Jersey ripping thru trucks on all major highways on my 09’ AN650 Burgman Executive .. Yes I get a lil buffer and or shake when trucks are near me but hey I twist that throttle and problem solved 😂 80-90-100 in no time and leaving them in the dust! .. I topped mine out at 120mph with a lil help of a downgrade and my 180lb pound frame 😎 This is my second Burgman. I had a 400 Burgman before and I can tell you from experience they both are beautiful, reliable, nimble machine’s! I just LOVE EM! .. Stay safe and ride Dan💪🏽

For anyone curious, Florida's natural highpoint is in the panhandle at Britton Hill, close to the Alabama State line. At 345 feet above sea level, this is the lowest state highpoint in the United States.
You get that wind pushing you around even on my goldwing, around trucks.

I’d check the accuracy of your Speedo too. I have a vstrom and it’s about 5mph slower than speedo indicates.
Dude, just twist the throttle a little if you're sick of the semi! I have a virago 250 and my max speed is about 75 mph so don't get me wrong, I know the struggle... but you have the power to get away in about 3 seconds, I am stuck there! Don't let other people ruin your ride.
This and the genuine hooligan 170 are the best scooters ive ever owned I've driven the burgman with my girl on the back on a about 250mile mini road trip to the beach this bike is amazing .....great content man love this vid makes me go ride right now
The Burgman 650 seems to be a nice scooter for the highway, but not a nice thing with all the fast going trucks! Here in Sweden the max speed for trucks on the highway is 55 mph (90 km/h)..or if they have a trailer it is 50 mph (80 km/h). So if you cruising at 65-70 mph you keep the trucks behind you! 😎
Well it's nice that they're "behind" you, but eventually they're also "in front" of you. You can't outrun trucks. They breed.
Awesome bike. Miss mine. I used to ride 200+ miles, fill up, and go again. Also pulled a trailer. And she cruises so smooth.
Used to put it in manual mode and shift to the top and leave it there when on the highway. She handled the mountain roads good too. Woohoo....
Range is shorter on my AK 550 and that is the one thing I miss the most...range. Thanks for the upload.
Good to see another Burgman rider in Hillsborough County. I switched back to the stock screen from a sport screen. I loved the look of the sport screen but the wind just rattled my helmet. Trucks on the interstate and lawn trailers on side roads.

I just broke off the compartment door where you keep your phone. Make sure to latch it every time. When riding it will flop open and then your knee will break the hinge when sliding off the bike. JB weld to the rescue😁
hopefully will be picking up a Burgman my self, was recently in a motorcycle accident about a year ago and cant really operate a manual that well anymore. (Use to ride a 06 V-Strom 650 Adventure) So thank you for posting this and making me want one even more! (Once i can afford it that is hahahaha) Keep on riding and stay safe out there.

I did a long highway ride on my scooter, much smaller CH250 back in 2014... lots of truck blew me around and my top speed was 75Mph but it did not bother me as much as this larger scooter or person riding this. When i was 2 up riding on highway it did not shake much at all, but did feel the wind blowing me all over from trucks. Then fast forward to a few years later riding same bike that was off road for 7 years... went on highway again... was not used to the wind, like i have to get used to it all over again or something.
The problem is the massive windscreen on this machine causes it to be like a sail so when big trucks pull in front of you or ride next to you it pushes the scooter all over the place so just because you did it on your little machine doesn't mean it doesn't affect this machine differently or the rider it definitely has a Major Impact having a massive screen to block your face though it's nice it also creates a lot of vrs or Vortex ring state for the rider
I wish scooters were more popular in the US. I love my Burgman but sometimes I see maxi scooters in Europe and wish we could get them here. I like the functionality of the scooters vs motorcycles. I’ll ride my FTR for fun but if I really want an all day bike I’m on the scooter since I gave up my FJR1300.
Gotta love "hills" in Florida. In so many other states, nobody would even notice that's an incline, much less a "hill". 🙂
Florida's normally pretty flat so when you come across anything that has some elevation to it you're like wow I didn't even realize these existed in Florida

Great ride along Dan can I hate one truck drivers do that kind of s*** and while some of them people drive a little bit fast even on the highway I think you definitely got a great scooter now👍👍
To be fair I think maybe his speedo is a bit off. Walmart trucks are governed and he was probably doing his max speed but just couldn’t get around the bike. I would have just backed off and let him go a while before speeding up again but I’m not the kind of trucker that won’t give room either. We don’t typically want anyone next to us. I can only assume he was one of those drivers who won’t give up speed for anything.
Most trucks are governed at 65 or 68, plus when you’re hauling 40,000 lbs you tend to be slower than the other cars around you

scooter register 10% high on the speedometer. to my understanding which makes 70mph really 63 mph, that could be the reasons for the truckers action. IDK!

On my 2014 model the speedometer 10% faster than the gps speed.
I can not find a sliverwing vs. Burgman anywhere. It is because The Silverwing can not be bashed. The Burgman has all of the fancy electric mirrors and shit. But, Honda has always. Always, kept their vehicles clean w/o more things to go wrong. So they produced reliable engines and vehicles. I do believe that the Silverwing has more scoot than the Burgman with estimated 50 more cc.
I could make a solid argument that Suzuki cycle engines have been as reliable if not more then Hondas
Old statement so probably not worth commenting on, I have had both and the burgman is clearly the better engineered, designed scooter. That is why there are few reviews comparing the two. . Frame, engine, accessories, and longevity. The engine of the burgman shares many parts from the Hyabusa, . Which one would I buy twice?? The 650 Burgman is my moot point. Cos they don’t make it anymore.

Yea those tractor trailers knock my Executive around pretty bad on the interstate. It’s like the more I try to keep separate from them, the more they wanna be in my airspace. If I’m doing 70, they wanna pass me. Then they slow down to 65, I pass em again, then they wanna do 75. They drive me nuts. I drove over the road for 40yrs. And I still don’t get it.
$12 is typical now for any Burger in the state of Florida especially just for a standard cheeseburger

where did you get the 650 from cuz im looking at suzuki cycles and the onlyone thats showing on there is 400 and the 200
They stopped production of the 650 in 2018. If you want A 650 you have to buy a 2004 to 2018 version.

Unfortunately I can only test on my channel what is available to me when either I fix it or I buy one and test it for myself I don't have endless amounts of money for testing products

These are great maxi scooters, I have a Helix and a burg 400, How much wind were you takin on during the ride?, its doesnt look like the OEM windshield, are you looking through the shield or over it, I found the aftermarket GIVI had a fishbowl distortion effect on the road that I didnt like, I have Vtwin cycles, but these scooters are easier and more fun to ride

You cant fault the bnike becausse of trucks. All lightweight vehicles will be affected similarly.
My 2014 650 Burgman vibrates between about 2000 and 3500 rpm and then smooths out. Does your Burgman have any vibration?
Mine does the same thing I'm assuming you've got some good mileage on your scooter. Remember these things aren't new anymore everything works great when it's new for the first couple years then after that just like a car it'll start making noises and the suspension won't be what it used to the belts will wear in but mine does the same thing
